General :: Kickstart Installation Fails With Error Failed To Read Rpm Header?
Dec 16, 2010I am running into a strange problem where kickstart installation fails with Error failed to read Rpm header, This happens when installation starts formatting of disk is also completed some of the rpms installed and then suddenly installer stalls with failed to read rpm header.
I have kept kickstart and install media on same host. I have changed the install media from http/nfs/ftp just to check is there any problem with the media but no luck.
However same installation with the same kickstart file works fine when both install media and ks file is kept on another linux host.
I am using RHEL 4 ,I do checked /var/log/messages it does not give any information on the failure and this started happening recently till that i was using the same server for my linux deployment.
Note: pxe setup, boot server ,install media and ks file all are in same server.

However, when I look into the file it is actually blank saying something like "It works! This is the default web page for this server" which can't be correct since that is not what Aro2220.com actually displays.
Furthermore, when I try to wget files I've put on the server for myself it returns a 404, file not found.

If I type the address into Firefox, a dialog box pops up asking if I want to open or save the pdf file. If I give the same address to wget, I receive a 404 error. The wget result is below. Can anyone suggest how to use wget to save this file?

Jun 19, 2011If a wget download is interrupted (like if I have to shutdown prematurely), I get a wget.log with the partial download. How can I later resume the download using the data in wget.log? I have searched high and low (including wget manual) and cannot find how to do this. Is it so obvious that I did not see it? The wget -c option with the wget.log as the argument to the -c option does not work. What I do do is open the wget.log and copy the URL and then paste it into the command line and do another wget. This works but the download is started from the beginning, which means nothing in the wget.log is used.

Jun 29, 2010I need to install VMWare Workstation on Fedora 13, but I keep running into the following error -
"C header files matching your running kernel were not found...."
It's looking for 2.6.33.3-85.fc13.i686 but when I did a - yum install kernel-devel I got 2.6.33.5-124.fc13.i686
when I do - yum install kernel-devel `uname -r`
I get the following -

Jul 22, 2011I'm having some problems compiling mednafen on Suse 11.4. When I run configure, things work fine until I get the following series of errors:

configure: error: *** OpenGL header file not found! I've seen references in a few places that these type ("Present But Cannot Be Compiled") can usually be ignored, but in this case ./configure fails and I can't make. I am unsure why this is, as I've installed mednafen on Suse 11.4 before and it runs fine. I've tried installing various OpenGL-related packages that I can find (Mesa, freeglut, glib, etc) but nothing seems to solve the problem

Oct 22, 2009I have installed RHEL-5 on a 64-bit machine recently, and want to install java. Earlier when I did "java -version", it showed jre1.4.0. But for my application , I need jre 1.5.0 or later, so I decided to download jre1.6. I am the root user here and I downloaded the jre1.6 as rpm.bin as well as simple .bin format.
But the problem is that when I tried executing any of them, I am getting below error message :
" ./jre-6u16-linux-x64-rpm.bin: line 368: ./install.sfx.20520: cannot execute binary file"
Moreover, now when I tried "java -version", it is not showing any thing.
Could anybody suggest me how can I resolve this deadlock situation, as I need to install my other application at the earliest.

Here are the relevant HTTP response headers:Cache-Control:no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate Pragma:no-cache.I also have Firefox, is there a plugin or something I can use to not respect "no-cache"?

All goes well until I get to this -
What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running kernel? [usr/src/linux/include]
When installing the vmware tools it says to just hit enter and the default will be used.
Hitting enter just keeps giving me the error message- The path "usr/src/linux/include" is not an existing directory.
