General :: Error While Starting Apache2 / Syntax Error On Line 113 Of /etc/apache2/httpd.conf?
Nov 19, 2010
I have suse10 64bit and I was setting up SVN server on it. After all required setup while reloading apache2,its giving the error:
Code:
httpd2-prefork: Syntax error on line 113 of /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 31 of /etc/apache2/sysconfig.d/loadmodule.conf: Cannot load /usr/lib64/apache2/mod_dav_svn.so into server: /usr/lib64/libsvn_subr-1.so.0: undefined symbol: apr_memcache_add_server
I am trying a release of Ubuntu has have run into a problem that does not make much sense. I am receiving the following error: Syntax error on line 20 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/portal: Invalid command 'ProxyHTMLEnable', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration fail! I believe the modules required for this is apt-get install libapache2-mod-proxy-html and it shows under the available modules and it was enabled with a2enmod proxy-html.
The line from the config is ProxyHTMLEnable On. The release is the latest download with updates from, 32bit.
Starting web server: apache2[Wed Dec 09 15:36:40 2009] [warn] NameVirtualHost XX.XX.XX.XXX:80 has no VirtualHosts(99)Cannot assign requested address: make_sock: could not bind to address 68.178.232.100:80 no listening sockets available, shutting down Unable to open logs failed!
phpmyadmin files are in usr/share/phpmyadmin but i cant find anything in my apache2.conf or httpd.conf files that point to that directory. How do I find the route taken from the Server root "ServerRoot "/etc/apache2"" to the phpmy admin files.
Installation of SUSE 11 server now when I try to configure apache2 (opening port 80) I get a "cannot adjust apache2 service" error??? Can anyone shed some light on this.
I have suse10 64 bit installed. I am setting up a svn server on it. After installation and adding the modules ,while reloading the apache2 it's throwing the error as: HTML Code: httpd2-prefork: Syntax error on line 113 of /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 31 of /etc/apache2/sysconfig.d/loadmodule.conf: Cannot load /usr/lib64/apache2/mod_dav_svn.so into server: /usr/lib64/libsvn_subr-1.so.0: undefined symbol: apr_memcache_add_server
I was stupidly trying to setup apache for virtual hosts using two different tutorials and something got mucked up along the way. Apache will now not start and I just need a some help fixing it. My error logs show nothing and running "sudo apache2ctl configtest" said "syntax ok".
I have just installed Apache2 v. 2.2.17 on Ubuntu, and I am trying to get it to work with Ruby (v 1.8.7). I have followed the instructions on the Ubuntu site and ended up installing Phusion Passenger v 3.0.7, making the suggested changes to the httpd.conf file.
When I launch Apache2 I now get the message:
Cannot load /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/passenger-3.0.7/ext/apache2/mod_passenger.so into server: /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/passenger-3.0.7/ext/apache2/mod_passenger.so: undefined symbol: ap_get_server_banner
I have found a bug report (url) that suggests "adding a dependency" but am not sure how to do that. Any kind soul out there can take pity of this eager Linux neophyte?
I have installed fedora 13 in my system. httpd server is also installed. when I tried to start the service of httpd, following error message displayed: Starting httpd: (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:80
I am installing some SSL certificates on my web server, however I have a couple questions, as I'm not familiar with this process
1) I'm not sure which directory to put them in? What is good practice? Is /var/www/secure a good location so long as I restrict access to the secure directory?
2) I am told to edit the following in my ssl.conf file of apache2
However, I cannot find this file, ssl.conf. Nor can I find the above directives in my main apache2.conf file. Where is the ssl.conf file? Or alternatively, could I just add the above directives to my apache2.conf file?
httpd have been install by default and I don't start it as services. I have install apache2 but don't want to start as service, I can't add it into the chkconfig. When I try to remove httpd, fedora also want to remove these software.
gnome-user-share i586 2.26.0-2.fc11 installed 809 k httpd-manual i586 2.2.11-8 installed 3.5 M mod_perl i586 2.0.4-8 installed 6.3 M

php and webalizer I don't care as I want to install the new version, but is their any problem removing the other one? Also I want to pount the apache2 documentroot to var/www/httpd but when I do this and try to see the website I got a 403 error (not autorize)
I want to separate the Apache2 Error log to log certain events in a specified file. For example: client denied by server configuration > denied.log Directory index forbidden by Options directive > forbidden.log I would like it add it to the logs as the events happen, and like the other logging systems, create new files when the current is full. i.e. denied.log.0
My apache2 logs aren't being rotated, I have 1 log nearing 100MB in size.
Error shown below when a logrotate happens on apache2 logs:
Code: error: other_vhosts_access.log:5381 unknown option 'jack' -- ignoring line error: other_vhosts_access.log:5381 unexpected text "jack" is a sub-domain.
I have just booted up to do some local work on my website and apache 2 has start throwing 403 error's at me? phpmyadmin and other alias's I have setup work but the main root just 403's on me?? It has been working away flawlessly for months now. No system upgrade has recently updated Apache and I can see no errors in my set up files!
My default setup file: Code: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost
DocumentRoot /home/gavin/wwwsite <Directory "/home/gavin/wwwsite"> Options +Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> .....
For a bit of background info, the end result i'm trying to achieve is for files that get uploaded via a php script to be owned by the user account that owns the script rather than by the apache user.
I currently have a massive problem with my main webserver: one of the SCSI drives where I keep my htdocs seems to have failed (sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Result: hostbyte=DID_NO_CONNECT driverbyte=DRIVER_OK,SUGGEST_OK end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 7797601).
Since I have no backup (dumb!dumb!dumb!) of it, I tried to copy what I could on the fly, but that failed miserably. The next idea was to umount the volume and try remounting it R-O, but I have a bunch of apache2 processes that are apparently reading/writing on it and I can't seem to find any way of terminating them. I tried via init script, killall and kill -9 but they just don't respond. Until I can terminate those processes, I won't be able to unmount the drive and try saving what's left of the data.Oh and the cherry on top of the cake: the server is 1100 miles away so I can't even access it physically..Is there any way I didn't think of to get rid of those apache processes?
I am running centos 5.4, kernel 2.6.18. Also running httpd (apache2) as a reverse proxy with the following modules mod_ssl mod_cache mod_proxy_*
Recently after updating these modules: mod_ssl x86_64 1:2.2.3-31.el5.centos.2 httpd x86_64 2.2.3-31.el5.centos.2 distcache x86_64 1.4.5-14.1
I am getting wierd errors in the error logs: [Wed Feb 10 15:44:18 2010] [error] (103)Software caused connection abort: cache: error returned while trying to return disk cached data [Wed Feb 10 15:44:45 2010] [error] (103)Software caused connection abort: cache: error returned while trying to return disk cached data [Wed Feb 10 15:44:48 2010] [error] (103)Software caused connection abort: cache: error returned while trying to return disk cached data .....
I wanted to setup a local Apache2 server for some programming and testing. I installed and got Apache2 working with PHP, MySQL and all works fine. Now I wanted to add an additional directory to somewhere in my /home. And that's where things went wrong. I went to edit /etc/apache2/sites-available/default. This is it:
Code: You don't have permission to access /po/ on this server. So I go to the logfile; which says this: Code: [Sat May 08 16:43:51 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] (13)Permission denied: access to /po/ denied
I tried a lot of stuff using chmod and chown, but all to no avail. I tried to change the ownership of the /home/name/web to root, and to www-data, I changed file permissions to allow executing the files.
I have installed a LAMP server (Debian Lenny + Apache2 + PHP Version 5.3.1-0.dotdeb.1). On this machine, my web application (PHP + MySQL) exists in 2 flavours:
- Dev - Prod
In /etc/apache2/sites-available, I have ims & ims-dev, one for each instance. Their contents are identical in terms of settings, except for the paths (dev/prod):
I want to create custom errordocument file, and in php when every type of error occurs i want to redirect to my custom document instead of system error files.
I am using fedora 6.
I am unable to find httpd.conf file, where it is located.
I am in the process of writing a web-application using apache,mod-python and cheetah. I installed apache2, mod-python and cheetah and also enabled the userdir module in apache2 so that i can host the webpages inside my public_html folder.
The public_html folder has a folder named 'site' which gets displayed when I type "url" in the browser. There are subfolders inside this 'site' folder and the site folder also has an index.html page inside it.
But when I click on the site folder in the browser, I get a 'Requested url /~myusername/site/ not found'. There are files inside the folder with 777 permissions and still I get this error.
I use Ubuntu Jaunty with the following configuration - 'Apache/2.2.11 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.2.6-3ubuntu4.1 with Suhosin-Patch mod_python/3.3.1 Python/2.6.2 Server at localhost Port 80'.
These are the lines I have added to the /etc/apache2/sites-available/default file
Code:
<Directory "/home/myusername/public_html/site/"> SetHandler mod_python PythonHandler mod_python.publisher PythonDebug On PythonAutoReload On
I am trying to install BackupPC on openSUSE 11.4 64 bit.BackupPC is complaining that I am not running the Apache server as user backuppc but as user with id 0 (root)I have the following in the /etc/apache2/uid.conf (which is getting read as I can put a syntax error in the file and it complains):
User backuppc Group www
When I run either the httpd2-itk (default in rcapache2) or the plain httpd2 processes and then do a:
ps aux
The user reported as running the http processes is root NOT backuppc. On a openSUSE 11.3 machine where I have BackupPC running successfully the ps command returns backuppc as the user running the processes. Is this something others are seeing or do I have some configuration incorrect?
I am trying to set up a lamp server and I would like to change the ServerTokens option from full to prod but when I open /etc/apache2/apache2.conf it's no where to be found. Has the option been moved somewhere else? Same with setting ServerSignature from on to off. I'm starting to wonder if I even have the right conf file.
I had a hard drive failure and have recovered (rsync) my backup root filesystem onto a new drive. This all seems to be fine, except that at least two services no longer start: mysql and apache2.I can start successfully both through
although mysql throws a warning about Upstart. Neither start automatically. My system is Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS x86_64. Part of my reolution actions has involved a kernel update to 2.6.32-27-generic.I have tried to resolve the mysql issue first:
Code:
sudo update-rc.d -f mysql remove sudo update-rc.d mysql defaults
Code:
sudo apt-get remove --purge mysql-server sudo apt-get install mysql-server adding them /etc/init.d/... start commands to /etc/init.d/rc.local script and to a session startup script
checking the services are in rcX.d (using bum and sysv-rc-conf) Ensuring there's a .conf file in /etc/init (which there is).I can't see anything in syslog which would suggest if the system has tried to start these but failed, but then I may be looking in the wrong place. I think they're not starting at all. I wonder if it's something to do with the restore, perhaps symlinks?
