It keeps closing [unexpectedly] after I click a choice like closing one of the pop-up windows that shows after I choose an option from the menus in the top. With no errors returned or shows up! As an example, when I choose to create new project, and fill in the project information [Name, type, path] and when I click FINISH all Eclipse closes, and I need to re-open it again [I find the project that I created there].
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using Eclipse to program in Java for a long time, and have been using Jigloo for most of my GUI design. Recently I decided to try out the C/C++ plugin. I tried installing it, but it did not work. After many attempts, I finally gave up. However, after uninstalling it I found that Jigloo had stopped working. Any other plugins I try to install now also don't work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling plugins, and reinstalling eclipse, but nothing I have done fixes it. Although eclipse says that the software has been installed, nothing shows up in the features list or the plugins list.
Another problem: When I install eclipse from the repositories, it doesn't install a bunch of libraries and eclipse cannot recognize standard java files.

I know Zend stands behind PHP and that Eclipse is a popular open source IDE. What is the difference tho?Is the PDT Project only a functionality that could be added to Eclipse IDE? I have downloaded Zend Studio for Eclipse, so far it seems very complete (no that have learned how to use all its features).

I recently had to reinstall Eclipse on ubuntu 10.10 and i did it twice, once just removing eclipse package, and the second time removing every package associated with an eclipse install.when i launch eclipse I go into my package view and select a package and then double click on a Java file.

Unfortunately, "sudo yum install eclipse" is returning "no package eclipse available". I think this means that I am missing the correct repo, but I'm not sure which is the right one and don't know how to add it to my repo list for this version. Several times now my PC with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS installed wont close down. I click on all the appropriate buttons but the system doesn't shut down. I have to press the on / off button on the computer to end my session.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS for several months and recently the system has stopped closing down cleanly. It starts okay and runs just fine, but when I come to closing down it doesn't do anything after I've clicked on the shut down button. The same happens with the restart button. I have been closing the system by pressing the power button on the front of my tower. I have no idea as to why it won't close ... I haven't installed any extra software, so I guess it's a system problem. Closing down by pressing the power button cannot be doing the OS any good, so I could do with a fix ASAP on this one.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a dedicated server and have been having trouble with putty. I have been using the server to try and host the game called minecraft. Hosting the server is not a problem however. What is the problem is being able to exit putty without stopping the server. I looked this up, and it sayed to create a screen. I did that after installing screen. I then created a screen, ran the server, then tried to disconnect using the ctr-a-d.However only two things happen when i push the buttons. The majority of the time the window just closes, along with my server stopping. The other thing that happens is putty just stops. I cant type in anything, but I am still notified when I try to close putty.

The process is running and will take 5-6 hours. I want that process to keep running after I close the putty session. How can I keep that process alive after closing the putty session? I do not want to keep the computer ON all the time. Is there any way to do this?.
I run the ping command using system() in C. It start pinging the desired destination but when I close my application it continues to ping. Is there any solution that as soon as I close my application it also stops pinging. Any change required in my C code?

I don't know why or how OR how to make it stop being so mean to me! i'm running ubuntu 10.4 32bit . I tried to boot it in safe mode and umm.. it froze? or crashed? well it was on the black screen with the blinking dot for like 20 mins before i gave up on it (Hiting enter or esc or anything didn't work). There was a key symbol on my panel before skype acted up(It closed and disabled something.. i've never seen it before). Adobe also crashed, and linux did a small update (nothing with skype).

Now this script is taking longer to execute maybe because the DB connection is opened and closed each time.

Is there a way to close somefile while leaving the instance of gedit still open? My idea is that sometimes I will have more than one file open in gedit. I run a script daily that updates to a log file. The log file is then opened and viewed with gedit.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to debug a C++ project in Eclipse Helios, last release. I set breakpoints in some non-main functions, but the debug function never stops there, and I get a warning message which says
"breakpoint attribute problem installation failed" What could be the reason?

When I open a pdf file (e.g., beamer file) using xpdf, there's an annoying window on the left displaying section headings. Presumably it's possible to close it, ideally toggle it closed and open with a key binding, but I can't find out how to do this.

I an writing a Java Applet and testing it using Eclipse's Applet Viewer but when I attempt debug mode it sometimes causes my GUI to freeze. I am able to break out to the prompt using ctrl-alt-f1 and restart the gui, but that's annoying because I then have to restart all the apps running on it.

I am using a virtual terminal red-hat and want to install eclipse for c development IDE.
1. I have java 1.6 installed previouse. the java path is configured properly.
2. I downloaded the latest eclipse helios 32bit from eclipse.org
3. I unzip the tar.gz file (eclipse-cpp-helios-linux-gtk.tar.gz)
4. in the eclipse diretory, I try to launch the eclips. but got an error: ./eclipse: /lib/i686/libc.so.6: version 'GLIBC_2.3' not found (required by ./eclipse).
I set LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/lib/i686. and no luck either.
I am using Linux Mint Debian
Eclipse 3.5.2
Anytime I save it gets stuck on 66%
How to diagnose or fix the issue.
I'm having a problem with eclipse, it keeps crashing while I'm working working with it, running from the terminal i found this:

i have googled and i found a ubuntu forum where a guy had the same problem, his solution was disabling the php browser, so i try to do it and go to window>preferences>General>Web browser... as soon as i click "web browser" it just crashes with the same error above, so i guess the "browser" is the problem, i didn't find the "php browser" option so that's why i click on "web browser"
if anybody has a solution for this please help me, i would be awesome to solve this.
