May 13, 2011I have install mysql on my fedora12. My different mysql server is located in us. I want to check health status and hits per seconds everything. Is it possible with mysql-administrator command.
now a these days i am connect through ssh and excuting below command

In my mysql db i have added the userip & passwd (allowed the privileages for that ip)
If i use mysql-administrator i am getting below error

i didnt find the mysql.sock file in the location /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock. i cannot find the portal-ext.properties file also to make intial settings.

Mysql is running ad user=mysql, and i added the user in a different group by he is able to access mysql by typing in the command.
How can i block this command being availible for this user.

I went about installing it thinking that it would all work. But it seems that I was wrong. So I try to start mysql, and here's what I get:

Feb 5, 2010I set up mod_proxy in order to get rid of :8080 now I cant access phpmyadmin through the browser. what is the quickest way to turn off mod_proxy and access phpmyadmin? I would like to optimize the tables and back up the sql file. I just need to turn it on for a bit, and then enable mod_proxy again.Right now, if I got to localhost/phpmyadmin, it redirects to the main application.

Aug 15, 2010We started our project (it's a website "employee performance appraisal system") in windows by starting with some html forms and then slowlyadded php ,javascript and other stuff in windows we had no issues of insertion and retrieval of data from thedatabase.Now,we decided to shift the entire stuff to drupal the html forms along with those php files but we had 2 issues with this1. the first one was ..we created "page" for each html form and copied the html code into "page" but we didn't find where our pages are getting stored (do they get stored in mysql database that we create for drupal siter do they remain as html pages somwhere?)2.second problem was ...for admin in drupal I gave the username "root" and a password ..similarly for mysql also I gave a password.
now I used phpmyadmin and created another database called "appraisal" which is supposed to hold the data of our website.when I try to insert data into one of the tables of this database (attendance table) ,the following error occured "Attempt to connect failed access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'(using password:NO) cannot run querry insert intoattendance values('x','y')" Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (usingpassword:NO)Also I'm unable to access mysql as a normal user only super user can access and can we unset the password that's required to reach mysqlprompt?

After upgrading that one to Ubuntu 10.04 (from an ancient Suse 9.2), both servers are running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.I have another server that I use to administer the database server via phpMyAdmin. However since the upgrade it is not able to connect. I get an error #1130 Cannot log in to the MySQL server. The same happens if I try to connect remotely from the command line with: mysql -u root -h 129.79.137.121 -pI'm not sure if this is an iptables/ports problem or a configuration problem on the MySQL end or something else entirely.I've searched and tried the suggestions I've found in various places but none seems to have fixed it.

I've tried accessing mysql with skip grant tables disabling the need for a password so I could reset my root password. After going through the necessary steps I still get the error above when typing my password in for mysql.

I need to be able to connect to a MySQL database using Microsoft Access 20074. The database is going to be running on my server, which runs ubuntu server 10.10.
So far, I have installed MySQL server and libmyodbc. I took the deetails for the odbc.ini file from the ODBC ubuntu community page, so this is the current setup (database name is business):

Jan 19, 2010The server I am working with is running CentOS 5.x. MySQL and FTP access is tunnelled through SSH using OpenSSH. Users are chrooted to their home directory as follows:
User: tristan
Home: /web/tristan/
Now, up to this point everything works fine (FTP access) except for MySQL tunnelling. The application I use for MySQL administration is Navicat. It allows me to access the remote SQL server as though it's local using a SSH tunnel. The problem is that I am unable to create a connection to the SQL server through tunnelling unless chroot is removed for the user. Once chroot is removed, I am able to connect to the SQL server just fine via tunnelling. However, ow when using SFTP, the user's "home" directory is now the root of the drive (which is what we don't want).
I wish I could give you more information about the configuration. Another user set this server up and unfortunately I will not be able to access the machine until a few days from now so my information is limited.

Fortunately I still have access via the MySQL root user (so I try not to disturb that user, because I have had computers with THAT account not accessible as well - even WITH resetting the password via skip-grant-tables).
