View 3 RepliesI have a MySQL database running on my local server, which I currently access via laptop, desktop using HTML/PHP.I want to re-write in HTML5, I have gone through a couple of HTML5 tutorials but cannot figure out the database interface. The best match I can find is Server-Sent Events, is this the best way forward? What about writing to the database? I have found several suggestions using Web SQL database but I don't think this is suitable as my database is also accessed from Python code on the server.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe started our project (it's a website "employee performance appraisal system") in windows by starting with some html forms and then slowlyadded php ,javascript and other stuff in windows we had no issues of insertion and retrieval of data from thedatabase.Now,we decided to shift the entire stuff to drupal the html forms along with those php files but we had 2 issues with this1. the first one was ..we created "page" for each html form and copied the html code into "page" but we didn't find where our pages are getting stored (do they get stored in mysql database that we create for drupal siter do they remain as html pages somwhere?)2.second problem was ...for admin in drupal I gave the username "root" and a password ..similarly for mysql also I gave a password.
now I used phpmyadmin and created another database called "appraisal" which is supposed to hold the data of our website.when I try to insert data into one of the tables of this database (attendance table) ,the following error occured "Attempt to connect failed access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'(using password:NO) cannot run querry insert intoattendance values('x','y')" Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (usingpassword:NO)Also I'm unable to access mysql as a normal user only super user can access and can we unset the password that's required to reach mysqlprompt?
Enable remote access to MySQL database server I used the link above to enable remote access to mysql for a specific user. But when I try to telnet 3306 or user mysqladmin to connect, both just hang there. Using mysql 5.0 on opensuse 11.1

From what I've read this seems to be a permission problem, I tried
'dbuser'@localhost';
'dbuser'@'%';
'dbuser'@'192.168.1.10';
and between each change of permission, I've flushed privileges.
I have created a database which stores students grades for different stages of a project. One of the stages of the project is the specification part. I have a simple bit of html code which is going to be used as the searching facility. I want the user to be able to enter their ID and then it will display only their results. At the moment, it is displaying the results for EVERY student because I cant seem to find the correct syntax for my statement.

At the moment when i click the button, no matter what I enter every students marks appear on the screen.
I think, but obviously dont know for sure because if i did i would know how to solve the problem, the code that i need to change is in green.
I've setup a CentOS apache web server, and loaded a site onto it. The site previously was functioning under windows xp (before I "stepped in") and wamp. What I did was copy the site in /var/www, reconfigure the httpd.conf (DocumentRoot /var/www/site, etc). Although when I try to open the webpage I get this error: Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:The MySQL adapter "mysql" is not available.

How do I do this? I wish to store the pictures via a "Browse" button on the webpage, and later display them on a particular page on the site.

I've a program which manages my pdf and references. I wish to put some of the information on my website but that program (Mendeley) does export only in XML (or bibtex). I'd like to simply convert the XML output files to SQL in order to create or update an SQL database.I'm not an expert in either XML or SQL (use only PHPMyadmin). Does someone get help me to figure out?

But there is a LOT of data (thousands of columns) which would take too long to enter manually. I'm sure MySQL must have a file format whereby a single large file containing different data types can be successfully automatically imported and the various data elements distributed to their intended fields. Does anyone know which characters MySQL uses as field seperators for this formatting of data, or is there a program already written which can take raw data and organize it into a SQL compatible file?

Also, the CSV file is updates every few hours and I need to load any new data from the file to the database without creating duplicates of data that has already been loaded to the database.

How should I install my MySQL database to the new version? Do I perform a backup then restore to the new install? Or can I just save the mysql db files to a cd and somehow attach it to the new install?

Really nice, I can do some php programming on my girlfriend's windows7 laptop without installing anything on it.I also have a LAMP environnement on my linux computer.When I plug my usb stick on my linux box, I can easily mount -o bind /usbstick/wwwfolder ~/public_html and work on my php script from there.
But my question is, is there a way I could get the database from my usb stick's MySql server, to run on my linux MySql server? So I can modify data base schema from my Linux workstation, doing some INSERTS in some tables, and then plub my usb stick on the laptop and get my up-to-date database running from the portable environnement?I don't know where / how MySql stores its databases. Basically, I want to "mount" the database from the usb stick in my Linux' installed MySql server, without extracting and importing the data, so there is just ONE database used for BOTH environnement.
I posted a thread regarding a CD Base Application. I can run the program, but for some reason It does not seem to work properly.
For some reason in exits the program back to the command prompt. I am using the code from Linux programming 4th edition which you can get it from here...and in the folder ch08/app you will find all you need to create the CD database application.
