I want to implement POSTFIX as our MAILSERVER.I have a couple questions some I already posted here now theres another error regarding on sending recipient in other domain like yahoo.com...using postfix server detected that i have an error on relay which is denied in other domain name...can anyone guide me how to fix it I think i have to update my main.cf.

Name service error for name=mail.grandecom.net type=A: Host not found, try again...i can send mail inside my domain, but when i try to send an email to a test gmail address i find the above error in the log.

When login in my gmail account i can't see nothing under the sent / inbox / spam folder.
it's seems like the mail are been sent.. but nothing is happening.
I was never confident with postfix, but used it for several years now on my own server. I even noted the exact config used. But my old server crashed and I have to build fast a news one and I don't receive mails anymore. Here is the log message when trying to send to me from gmail:

The main.cf file is the openSUSE default one (see below). Part of my problems seems to come from the reverse. I *could once* receive one test messsage to " ks3095514.kimsufi.com" (the default reverse/domain name) (below, commented out), but not for my own domain (dodin.org). Most of the time the only necessary lines are mydomain, myhostname, myorigin and mydestination, but this don't work anymore. New defaults??. local (from and to the server) mail works, root can send to jdd and I read it from home.

Setup an Ubuntu LAMP server to house a Wordpress site. Everything is gravy but I am having some troubles getting emails to route outside my local network. I have setup Internet and also added my ISP SMTP as a smarthost - either way I get the dreaded Relay Access Denied 5.7.1.
I am using DynDns as I do not have a static IP - not sure if this makes a difference?

I have not done the SMTP debug yet but just from basic troubleshooting, I think I know what the problem is. My mail server is rejecting my web server from sending mail due to 'relay access denied':

I just finish install & setup postfix & spamassasin. I can send & received email from my local area network. i already install webmail client & I can send received. When using my pda from outside my network I can received but I just can send email to my domain only. For other domain it's error relay access denied. Here my postfix configuration.

i have been working on setting up an email server over a ddns. All seems to be working (i can email me@my_ddns_domain.com to me@my_ddns_domain.com) except that when i try and send to another email address (some_other_me@other_host.com) i get the error "5.7.1 Relay access denied". The way i tested this is as follows:

1. I have a server on Ubuntu Linux 10.10 with the following modules installed:
- Webmin 1.530
- BIND DNS Server
- Fetchmail Retrieval
- Dovecot

- a domain (www.domain.com) - the website it's not hosted on my machine
What i did until now:
- establish a local mail network like user@testserver.local
- successfully installed and configure Fetchmail Retrieval. like: user@domain.com mapped to user@testserver.local
2. The problem: Sending an e-mail using a POP3 client like Outlook from an local account! If i use the local address and try to deliver a message outside my local network the following error is sent by System Administrator: Code: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

I am trying to use the network printers shared within my University's AD domain. In Windows XP, I simply went to 'run' and typed "\[domain]", then it asked for my ID and passwords and list of printers came up from which I could just pick and add to my printer list. How can this be achieved in Ubuntu 10.04?
What I tried:
System->Administration->printing->Add->Network Printer -> Windows printer via Samba -> Browse, then I see the domain but when I input my id, domain name and password, access is denied...

What confuses me is when I create a new domain on my server it gives the new domain it's own nameservers (ns1.thenewdomain.co.uk etc) do I need to change these records so they use the nameservers I created earlier? If I do? Which particular records should I change? I'm running a Unix virtual server with a Plesk control panel.

I am using Mozilla and have tried Chromium, but that did not fix my problem. When I click on "submit" to post a thread, the page will just say "loading..." and nothing happens for a really long time. I created a local user acount and tested FTP. This allows me to post files to this directory using filezilla. I then created a webftpaccount and set the home directory to /var/www/html. Here are the permission to this directory using ls -l drwxrwsr-x 6 webftpaccount webftpaccount 4096 Nov 23 10:32 htmlhere are the permission on the sub directories

I can log into the webftpaccount using filezilla client and it lists all the directories.It will not allow me to write a file into the html directory or any of the sub directories.Can someone help me set appropriate permissions on these directories so that I can get this working? I need to get FTP working so I set up dreamwaever FTP tlich and maintain sites.
I have some free space (not partitioned) on my disk drive. I have not configured LVM during installation.Is it possible to modify some of the existing partitions to be a member of LVM?
