I've got wine installed and I've been using it for a while, but I just installed adobe flash but it doesn't show up in my wine menu. I know where I can find it in My Programs I just don't know where that is. Where is the virtual C: drive in wine located?

I have a box which is used by other people, although I have the only admin privileges.
In the users part of the system, an installation has appeared.
I didn't install it, and it seems to be some sort of windoze malware.
How do I get rid of this totally?

The name of the App is AdvancedCleaner Free. It is running in WINE.
Since I certainly didn't install either of these....
I checked synaptic for wine, but it doesn't show as installed.

Please support GPU acceleration on Linux and vote for the following bug. Mac OSX has 1000 votes. Linux has 139. Let's show Adobe that linux is just as important as OSX.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just want a simple email notifier. I have started to use Ubuntu 10.10 and seem to have downloaded Gmailwatcher - it shows in Applications/Internet/Gmailwatcher. But it doesn't show as installed software in the Installed Software Centre. So, I cant uninstall it. I can't configure it? If I try to open Gmailwatcher I receive a popup asking me to open it from an icon above - but there's no icon there, I just want a simple email notifier - preferably one which I can add an audio alert.

I wanted to make an "install" script, which would add an item to Ubuntu's Main Menu. I believe all that is necessary is to create a .desktop file and place it it /usr/share/applications/? This seemed to work fine when I tried it out on 10.10, but I've now tried it on two 10.04 systems (one virtual) and despite it being in the applications folder (so it moved in okay), it isn't showing up at all in the menu. code...
I'm not entirely sure about some of that (categories for instance), as I just used another file as a reference. But it seemed to work fine on my 10.10 system, so I don't understand why it won't show up on the others? Should be in Sound & Video if I'm correct... I'm still pretty new to Linux, so sorry if I've got anything completely wrong.
How do I get Adobe Flash Player installed in Debian 6.0.0 (Squeeze?) I went to a couple of sites and tried typing into terminal what they suggested but to no avail. One of the commands had the sideways wavy line in it, but I do not have that key on my Toshiba L-455 Satellite laptop. i am using the global menu applet on ubuntu desktop edition. almost all of the apps shows its main menu on the global menu applet, but lyx doesn't. am i the only one experiencing this problem? i am using updated maverick.

So i installed it via USB memory stick & it works. After installation of the OS I am impressed with functionality & speed. when i conect the external hard drive via usb it doesn't show & i tried my usb flash disc it showed the same problem. I tried both disk in my laptop (Windows XP) & it works.

I need the Live CD for my vacation so I can use it to book hotel rooms using the live cd on public Windows pcs which are probably infested with all sorts of nasty things. Using my credit card with IE on those machines is out of the question. My worry is keyloggers and other things that can copy my credit card info.
Is it possible to install Adobe Flash on a live cd or is there a workaround? Should I use a different approach? I've heard of using firefox on a usb flash disc but not in any details. I'm not bringing my own laptop. In that case I wouldn't have a problem, I guess. I have to use machines in hotel business centers or internet cafees.
I installed kubuntu few days back. By clicking blindly I lost my desktop - I mean it is working fine but there are no icons on the desktop and there is no task bar with list of programs.

When I'm done I'm going to make a HOWTO so that others can do what I did It's hard work, but I'm nearly done.The last problem I'm having is the WINE menu on GNOME won't show up after a install of WINE from a .deb package (it usually does). This was after I compiled WINE from source and removed it with "make uninstall" and "rm -rf /.wine".So now I installed the WINE from a deb package and the Wine menu entry is not showing up.I've tried re-installing Wine and rebooting my PC but nothing seems to work.

Now when I start my PC I was displayed a menu from where I have to choose either Windows or Opensuse. When I select windows again I was shown a menu in which I have to choose either windows or ubuntu. I want to make only one menu in which I was shown all three OS installed!

I can double-click the Swiftfox.desktop icon in /usr/share/applications, and Swiftfox runs properly. I am having trouble getting adobe-flash to properly work on fedora. I have done it before but on a different distribution, and i am migrating to fedora. I'm encountering an unusual problem with GRUB 2. Whenever I start up my system, my BIOS'es load and do their thing, and then hand the show over to GRUB, which is supposed to not appear or do anything because my GRUB countdown is set to 0, but instead I get two errors like this that appear for about 5 or 10 seconds (greatly delaying startup) and then Xubuntu, the first entry on my Grub menu, loads: (I set GRUB to automatically boot my first entry):
