I need advice in getting the original blacklist.conf of the directory /etc/modprobe.d/ because I erased and I don't know if that file could make me have some issues in the future, so if any body can lend me a copy of that file or refere me to some page where i can get it. Is for the slackware 13 32bits distro.

I'd like to mount the directory /var/www/mysite to the directory /home/daniel/mysite, but also have the user of the mounted files mapped from the original user (www-data) to my own user (daniel). So that the file /var/www/mysite/index.php who's user is www-data will appear in the mounted directory as /home/daniel/mysite/index.php and be owned by daniel - and alternatively, if I create a file /home/daniel/mysite/test.php with my own user, it will be created in the original directory under the user www-data Is it possible? If not, what alternatives do I have so I can use an IDE and still make sure all the files belong to the HTTP server's user?

I manage it all through rhythmbox and I've decided to separate the wheat from the chaff by paring down stuff I don't want and throwing all the desirable stuff into a big (~1,800 file) playlist file saved to my desktop.My question to you is, is there a hack that'll let me cp all the file entries in this playlist from their various original directories and into one target directory? I've had Ubuntu 11.04 installed on my desktop since it's release. Up until an hour ago, it was working fine. I clicked on an update from the update manager, now booting into a graphical mode is completely broken, (the start-up load hangs at 'Check Battery State ... [0k]'). I restarted my computer, and booted into safe mode, and launched the terminal. This all works fine. I then typed :

The last line was printed about 8 times, with slightly different times, before it gave up and failed. Some information which might help, I have Gnome 2, Unity and KDE (not sure which version), installed. My graphics card is the GTX 275, and I have driver the Nvidia driver 275.21. So yeah, I think the update has gone and moved custom.conf somewhere, but I have no idea on how to fix it. I have a graphics programming assignment due on Friday and I would be eternally grateful if I could get this fixed well before then.

I would like to install a program that requires 95MB of space (let's call it prog-5.1) into $HOME/local/bin. Because the source files take up 1GB, I've had to place them in the /tmp directory (to stay under my limit).
Unfortunately when I run the config script, I receive the following:

But now extracting pic.image by bzip2 -d /home/os/Desktop/pic.image returns
bzip2: Can't guess original name for pic.image -- using pic.image.out
And then it just creates one file pic.image.out.
How do I access picture1 and picture2 from pic.image?
I've tried many, many different ways of setting up the cluster.conf file, but every time I start the cman service I get a message telling me "corosync died: could not read cluster configuration".This means nothing to me, nor can I find logs, or anything on the net about this message. I'm ultimately just trying to run a simple GFS2 config on 2 Ubuntu 9.10 desktop nodes, but I can't even get a basic cluster config going.What am I missing? I've been at this for days.

there isn't a program/script to achieve this, but can easyly be made for every config file, If someone do something like that, with a little database of which markup use each file, it could become really popular.

1) I'm not sure which directory to put them in? What is good practice? Is /var/www/secure a good location so long as I restrict access to the secure directory?
2) I am told to edit the following in my ssl.conf file of apache2

SSLCertificateChainFile
However, I cannot find this file, ssl.conf. Nor can I find the above directives in my main apache2.conf file. Where is the ssl.conf file? Or alternatively, could I just add the above directives to my apache2.conf file?

The client in question is running Ubuntu 10.04. Networking is managed by NetworkManager but I'm not wedded to that. In fact, I don't like it and wouldn't mind a reason to use something else.
I am trying to add "blacklist ath5k" to the end of the blacklist.config file but it tells me that I don't have permissions to do this. Went to permissions and it says that only the owner can change this. As for owner it says read and write. In ownership it just says user: root and group: root. Very new to this stuff so I am not sure what to do.
