View 3 Replies View RelatedI have done this in the past with little effort using a easy to use GUI picture editor. Now I can seem to find the function in any program I have installed. I have digikam, fspot and gthumb image viewer. I am now not sure if I lost the program that I had been using in an update or if I am just looking in the wrong place.
In short, can someone suggest a simple way to group together jeps as a video with audio in the background. I want to be able to upload these to ......
I am wondering how to change the default paths for Pictures, Documents, Music, etc to different paths (on a different partition within the same HDD). What's the cleanest way of going about this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have this problem, however the solution given there is outdated- There is no such menu entry (I tried to see if it was disabled, but it wasn't in the menu editor either).
So how would I do this in Karmic?
Edit: I found it. As a reference: Open Nautilus, go to Edit-> Preferences -> "Media" tab -> Photos -> Your choice.
when trying to run a tcl file, i gt the following error

I'm trying to figure out how to operate a rather large Java program, 'prog'. If I go to its /bin/ dir and configure its setenv.sh and prog.sh to use local directories and my current user account. Then I try to run it via "./prog.sh start". Here are all the relevant bits of prog.sh:
[code]...
When I actually do ./prog.sh start, it starts. But I can't find it at all on the process list. Nor can I kill it manually, using the same command the shell script uses. But I can tell it's running, because if I do ./prog.sh stop, it stops (and some temporary files elsewhere clean themselves out).
[code]...
the process is running yet not in any way listed by the system. I can't find it in ps or /proc/, nor can I kill it. But the shell script can still stop it properly. So my question is, how can something like this happen? Is the process supremely hidden, actually unlisted, or am I just missing it in some fashion? I'm trying to figure out what makes this program tick.
Running Ubuntu 10.10 along side Windows7 on a 64-bit HP Pavilion dv7 Laptop. Everything works in Windows. Everything works in Ubuntu, except for 2 things.1) I can live with not being able to enable/disable wifi.) I cannot read photos from an SD card plugged into the laptops SD card reader. When I open the SD card in Ubuntu, I can see the file name, but the thumbnails show messed up pictures. Usually, the bottom half of the photo is solid green, and there are usually lines running through the photo, or it is divided into quadrants with one quadrant being ok, but the rest having the green and/or lines.I assume the driver for the card reader is not correct. Card reader works fine in Windows. So I have to reboot into windows, copy pictures from reader to a folder, then reboot into Ubuntu and I can see and open the photos just fine. Just cannot read and copy them from the card while in Ubuntu.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have a stripped down version of Ubuntu 10.04 with no menu options for security. On the admin profile we have set up a terminal window for editing or adding users. We have created a second user with no admin privileges which we want to make the default on start up. This account is set to auto-login and takes them to a generic screen with just one icon to select and do anything with. I need to make this user the default on start up instead of the admin account as we do not want users knowing there is anything else available. When using the $ :users-admin in the terminal window to build the other account I have no option to make one or the other default. Is this done from the command line or is there another way of making this happen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded to Fedora 12 from Fedora 10. When I was using F10, I changed the desktop background (Using Gnome and right clicking on the desktop to see settings)nd then selected the option to make it the default so that the chosen wallpaper appears when I try to log in. However, I can't see this option in Fedora 12.

I have looked it up but haven't found anything that works, not sure if this is due to a change with 10:04 or just bad information.

Also..it says I just joined? in 2008.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter many years using linux, I decided to buy a mac. Now my main problem is: how do I synchronize pictures within my linux machines and the mac?
I have been using digikam in linux, and I like it because I can just browse the pictures directly from my directories (and it is easy for me to keep directories synchronized within mac and linux).
I have been testing iphoto and aperture, which are quite nice but if use them, my understanding is that I have to import all the pictures into these softwares, and this doesn't seem to be the ideal solution for me. I tried picasa, but I don't find it as good as iphoto and aperture. On the other hand it allows me to browse directories, without having two copies of the same pictures.
I used GnomeBaker to burn photos from my digital camera onto a CD. I have a ThinkPad R51e with Ubuntu 8.04 installed as the only operating system. I do think that I will be able to use GnomeBaker to put photos on the CDs but I was wondering if there wasn't something that would be better.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed 11.3 and everything works beautifully, but for some reason I can't sign in to Picasa. Everything works fine in Picasa, but when I sign in I get an invalid password message. I know the password is correct because I can switch to the browser and sign in with it, but for some reason it's not working within the program.
Has anyone else had any issues with this? I searched, but the problems with other user's Picasa programs seem to be with the program not working at all or crashing.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIn my photos folder, I have hundreds of folders, each with Picasa.ini files.
Unfortunately, a lot of these files are actually ".picasa.ini" files & Picasa 3.0 does not recognize them.
All I want to do is rename all those ".picasa.ini" files to "Picasa.ini".
If there was a GUI way to do this, all in one go, then that would be my prefered method.
I couldn't find one, so reluctantly tried Terminal. After a lot of reading & trying, still no success.
"locate .picasa.ini" finds all the files easily.
I tried many variants around: "rename -v -n 's/.picasa.ini$/Picasa.ini/' .picasa.ini" to run a simulation without screwing anything up yet, but at best they only seem to rename one occurence, not all the files.
I am running Fedora 14 and I installed Picasa from the rpm provided on Google's website. Of course, there was an error when I launched it. This was due to the wine-preloader binary that is provided by Picasa being too old. I replaced it with my brand new one and Picasa started running. The problem is that I cannot log into Web Albums because it tells me that Picasa cannot reach the server or whatever. Error message:

Is there a wine internet module that exists, and if so, can I replace it with the one provided by Picasa, wherever it is ?
