I'm using Fedora 9, I've just installed Bluefish, all hunky dory till I press "View on Browser" Button nothing happens. I've tried few cods like these; /usr/bin/firefox -new-window "%s" & %s. But No success.
Fedora 14 2.6.35.11-83.fc14.x86_64 I have a few webcams I want to serve to web browsers. I downloaded webcam-server, compiled and installed it. Running webcam_server with the -a (test) option, it appears to be doing something. But when I try viewing it with the included Java applet, I get a core dump from the webcam_server process and error messages from the viewing applet. I also cannot successfully view anything with a browser as described in the documentation.

Firewall is turned off. SELinux is turned off. I am behind a departmental firewall.
I would like to open pdf files in a web browser window. I have installed mozplugger and xpdf, but it does not work , I have only blank, white screen. I installed Adobe PDF viewer, and it worked good, but I don't want to use bloated PDF viewer.
I've been having a common problem that most users get when trying to view .php files on a web browsers. I feel like I've tried everything including clearing the cache. This is the read what when typing this commands.
I just installed AWStats on a new server and can't get perl to properly work as a cgi in apache. I've done this before and got it to work, and I've tried a couple suggestions found from google with no luck. When I try to access [URL] from my browser, Apache doesn't give any errors or anything, it just outputs the perl file in plain text, which implies that it's not handling the .pl file as a perl cgi, but I just don't know why.
I regularly use an online imageboard website, and as such I am constantly uploading images. Being new to the linux OS, I was quite familar with Microsoft Windows file explorer and its adaption with file uploading. However, it would seem that GNOME follows a different method and uses a separate file browser to a file uploader Here is my file browser and the various options available (icon size, icon view, bigger thumbnails):
And here is what I get when I upload files to a website: My question is, is there a workaround or package available to allow changeable icon sizes/thumbnails in the file uploader? The picture preview is good, but really isn't enough for what I require
My problem was that I have a Logitech Squeezebox Boom Network Media Player. I was not able to use my browser to view the device BUT when it was connected to its internet account I was able to see it although not use it. I figured out that post 9000 which it used to communicate between the server software and the network player was blocked.
I looked into using iptables and also firewall but then I found an article explaining why an oracle program would not work with SELinux. I then had a quick look round SELinux and added a rule to the 'Network Port' list. I added port 9000 with a type of http_port_t.
In the left pane of Nautilus File Browser, I can only display directory and file names. I don't have the button at the top of the pane which allows me to select an alternate view such as Tree view.
I am having a java program which will read characters from console. i have started my program from bash shell and now the program starts and waiting for the inputs. Say I have typed text , "hello". If i try to move the cursor position back wards using the left arrow button it was not working. Instead some junk characters are printed on the console like ^[[C .
hello^[[C^[[C^[[C^[[C^[[C
Below is my program.
public static void main(String as[]) { BufferedWriter outputWriter = new BufferedWriter(new PrintWriter(System.out));
I'm using fedora 14. And I have installed apache, PHP and MySQL. I tried testing PHP with phpinfo(). But when I view it view my browser (localhost/test.php) it just shows the code itself instead of displaying the phpinfo page. This is the content of my test.php page.
I know how to make another button act as the middle button but how can I map several mouse buttons to the middle button? xmodmap complains if I repeat button numbers in the pointer option.
I followed the sticky about setting up wireless and I have come to an issue where the WLAN switch which is on this computer can be pressed, the light comes on, but no WLAN. When I looked in dmesg, this is what I get:
ipw2100: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Connection firmware: requesting ipw2100-1.3.fw eth0: Radio is disabled by RF switch.
Notice it says that the 'Radio is disabled by switch' in dmesg. I can press that switch until the end of the world comes and it does absolutely nothing but make the WLAN light put on a light show. And it shows the wlan to be unassociated with any clients. So, what are my options to get this Wireless up and working?

Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M7400 1.4GHz Intel Centrino R 40GB HD Suse 11.1 KDE
I'm running opensuse 11.2 KDE 64bit. I tried to install bluefish editor and it can't find it. I've installed in on many other distros. How do I install it in opensuse?
Is there a bluefish rpm that I can install on Centos 5.5 64 ? I did find some on the bluefish web site but all had a bunch of dependency issues..... had no clue where to find them.... yumex showed nothing.
Bluefish version 1.0.7 is in the repositories - but I want to try version 2, which seems much better according to the website.Has anyone succeeded in loading this? I have tried following the instructions in bluefish.openoffice.nl and I get errors in the "make".
I an running Ubuntu 10.04 and for some very strange reason, everything works just fine except for the delete button. Usually I wouldn't be concerned about this, but lately, I've taken to programming in vi so the delete button is pretty useful.
i have ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop and whenever i press WINDOWS+TAB the applications sit on a glass like platform (kinda like the itunes album library). I've now installed ubuntu on my desktop pc but that feature isn't working ... what's it's name? How do i get it to work?
I think this goes in this subforum, but I'm not sure. I am using Mandriva 2010 KDE 4.3 I have a Toshiba Satellite with 7 "special" buttons: power, home page, media, play/pause, stop, back, next. This is the best pic I could find of them (on top of the keyboard there). I was able to set it so that all of those keys preform their correct functions, except the media key. For some reason whenever I try to set it as a shortcut the key input simply isn't registered. I know that this key used to work under Windows, I guess there is something wrong with the mapping. What can I do to find out where the problem is and fix it?
Bluefish seems to crash whenever I drag the side window all the way to the left. I'm using it on windows 7 mostly just curious to see if this also happens on Linux and maybe what could be causing it. That's the error message I get This application has caused Runtime to quit in an unusual way
I'm using Bluefish on my laptop to modify files on my desktop web server. The machines are networked with samba. Every time I save the files, I'm prompted with this window that says: File has been modified by another process. It gives me the option to cancel or overwrite. It's the only program that does this. I can click on overwrite and that works, but it's pretty annoying.
