View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Logitech ambidextrous trackball, with a left and right mouse button. The trackball device also has two smaller left and right buttons. I'd like to know how those two smaller buttons are addressed. Ultimately, I'd like to assign certain keystrokes to them, to make work faster. For example, ALT+<right arrow> moves a browser back one page. how to name these keys, or whether/how I should address this USB mouse. FWIW, I'm actually using it through the PS/2 mouse adapter, since that doesn't take a USB slot.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt's known that with previous iterations, up to and including 11.2, with certain motherboards ( I can only speak for Asus/Abit ) a quad ( or duo ) core cpu can only be installed with acpi-off or similar options; this leads to only one core running in OpenSUSE, although the board itself declares 4 cores run.And this seems to mean that various other unimportant ( for a desktop ) acpi functions are affected, including the os system clock.
Typing top or cat /proc/cpuinfo always shows only one core, and although the computer is fine, it seems a pointless state of affairs. Googling shows various suggestions, including removing acpi=off or noapic in the boot options and substituting pci=nommconf, or changing the kernel to an SMP kernel ( which is probably out-of-date as advice now ); still, I can live with it in 11.2: I just wondered if 11.3 addresses this installation problem. Or will any future editions address it ?Whilst one can live with it, the initial impossibility of installing ( with no clue as to why it shan't install ) must have put off a deal of people from even going forward with OpenSUSE ( or any similarly affected distro ).
I have two networks on a server. One being my internal network, and the other being an external IP address. This is on Debian Lenny. Here is my /etc/network/interfaces file:
I can reboot my system and sometimes eth1 is accessible from SSH, and other times eth0 is accessible. Then sometimes eth1 will just stop being pingable alltogether. This is a fairly fresh install of Debian, and the only thing I have running is VMWare Server 2.0, bridged to both of my network connections.
Here is what my route looks like:
How would I find out all the files a particular process accesses?
I am using Ubuntu 9.04.
With the find command it is easy to find files that have been modified or accessed within a given period. When a file is created, the acesss time is the same as the modify time. But as soon it is accessed (read), the access time changes, but the modify time does not. I need to find files that been accessed at all, ie. files which have access time newer than modify time. How do I do that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was messing around with my newly installed Archlinux, in a virtual machine (thankfully not my main computer) and now I cannot boot up. The issue is, I read that I could add commands in the rc.local file so that they would be automatically executed after booting up... so, I added the "pacman -Syu" command there, but it usually asks for a confirmation to continue, and that's why I think it is getting stuck there (it gets stuck just after running the daemons).
So, is there a way to stop the rc.local file to be loaded at startup?

As I've stated it is all out of curiosity on whether or not some sort of protection is in place to stop this kind of thing
