Fedora :: Unable To Play The Medias - Conflict Between Gstreamer And Adobe Flash Player
Sep 19, 2010
When system is playing a media ( e.g. sth.mp3 ) by a media player like Totem, then I open a browser and forward to a page that should play sounds, but everything is pretty normal except the sounds ( I mean there's no sound ).
When firstly open a browser to surf the pages. If there's sound played in the browser, I can't play a audio media in a standalone player ( e.g. Totem ) before I close the browser. But If there isn't any sound played in browser, the outside player will work normally.
The 2 situations happens between no matter Chrome or Firefox and a outside player. I guess there maybe a conflict between gstreamer and adobe flash player. But I am not sure what happened in my system.
i'm running on an i686 architecture with a 32-bit processor, and i'm using a fully updated firefox, more or less. i was able to install adobe flash 10 successfully, and i can load, manipulate, and access flash programs without incident. however, if i am running a flash program on one tab, and then in another tab i load another program (say an advertisement), the original program crashes.
why this is annoying:
i will listen to a song on videos, and open another tab to browse. a flash advertisement will crash the videos video. the video's viewing area turns white/gray and requires a refresh of the page - not a restart of the browser - to work properly. the only add-ons i installed are firebug and fireftp.
i installed adobe flash player (install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz)on linux open suse 11.1. But it doesn't play vedio etc on you tube,it says that this is old version of flash player. I reinstalled it ,even then it says old version of flash player.

I just installed Fedora 11 on my Sony Vaio laptop. I couldn't stand Windows Vista any longer. I installed Fedora 11 just fine with no issues. But I seem to be having trouble installing programs such as Adobe Flash Player, Reader, Limewire, Java pluggin, etc. Everytime I try to install these, it says for example "Could not display "/home/blackout87gn/Download/jre-6u16-linux-i586-rpm.bin". This was for the Java file I downloaded. I made sure that all these files I downloaded were for Linux. So being the newb that I am, can someone point me in the right direction on how to install these applications? Also what does .rpm .bin .deb and .tar.gz represent?
FireFox told me to upgrade Adobe Flash Player when I tried to view YouTune's videos, but after I tried twice to download (open directly) it from Adobe, it still didn't work.
The first time I opened 'YUM for Linux', then I tried again the '.rpm for Linux' file, all installed automatically.
My Fedora 10 is completely updated...But still my Firefox browser needs Adobe Flash player plugin to run internet videos...Although i clicked on install missing plugin but it was followed by a message of "failed to install use manual installation" after downloading the YUM package

How do I get Adobe Flash Player installed in Debian 6.0.0 (Squeeze?) I went to a couple of sites and tried typing into terminal what they suggested but to no avail. i am running ubuntu 10.04 i installed ubuntu restricted extras, and i went on videos. although i can view the video, i can't click on pause, the volume controls, or seek through the video, or put it into fullscreen mode. i went into the software center and searched "adobe flash player", and it came up with adobe flash plugin 10. it doesn't have an "install" button on it, so i double-clicked it, and it said " sorry, 'adobe flash plugin 10' is not available for this type of computer (amd64)."
