View 14 Replies View RelatedI've installed yesterday Fedora 14, 64 bit... Now I wanted to setup the nice graphic effect, but I can't find a way how to setup the minimize effect. I've installed additionally Emerald, ccsm and fusion-icon. I'm starting compiz using Fusion-icon. Just in the ccsm menus and icons I really can't find anymore how to setup those nice things like the magic lamp or there was also an effect which makes the window fold on minimizing (or closing).
And where did the burn effect go? It used to be there at some point in the past? And for closing effects and I didn't find nothing at all? Is there another configuration tool, besides ccsm, do I need to edit some config files in order to setup these things, should I install something more or nowadays. Compiz is losing its effects? Why all the topics regarding graphic effects are only on Ubuntu? Let's write about Fedora too !!
Really get annoyed when mouse is moved to the top right corner then the window is switched to the application view/chooser. My user has developers as the primary group (the same group as the file), but I cannot access the directory via the terminal or ftp.

I had the same problem before the directory belonged to my group, and I even went so far as to restart the server, without any luck. How do I set permissions to this directory so that I and other members of the group developers can access it?
I can't enable the 3d effect in fc12 ,so I ran Compiz with compiz-manage and got the error message I expect

This is something that I started to notice in F12 and it appears to be the case as well in F13. Any changes that I make to my desktop wallpaper in Gnome don't stay in effect after a reboot. Any ideas as to what is going on here? I don't mind the default blue swirly thing in F13, but I at least want the style change from scale to center to stick.
Choosing the 'set as default' option doesn't seem to help either, as that changes the screen you see at the Gnome login. Once I log into my account the default desktop wallpaper is still there.
Are there any other options for a fire wall gui for opensuse where you can see exactly what is going on with the firewall? I am finding the yast firewall gui in opensuse 11.4 to be extremely limited. I am not proficient in ip tables so looking for something that would give better control over the firewall rules for a beginner.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that any CPU load, while using Rakarrack guitar effects, causes the sound to distort and it generates loads of noise. This actually happens when using anything while running Jack audio. If I'm recording, I get tons of noise on the recorded track when I play it back (and live when monitoring) because any CPU usage seems to interfere with the signals. It even does it live in the playthrough (monnitor).
I realized it had to do with CPU usage when I noticed a pattern with the noise correlating to the plasma CPU monitor widget I had running originally. The noise refreshed when the monitor did. Since then, I noticed that anything that puts a slight load on the system will cause this disruption (even moving a window around, or anything in the background processes).
Anyone who is experienced with Jack audio, and possibly rakarrack as well, know the cause to this? I figured loading a low resource WM and eliminating unneeded processes can help but it doesn't since the recording program itself, while recording, is enough to cause this problem. (I know this because playing the guitar in Rakarrack, without recording and just using Jack to run the sound to the speakers, doesn't have constant noise but when recording, there is a constant noise)
i need some help big time. I'm running open suse 11.4 with gnome desk top.the flash player in fire fox 4.0.1 is installed but i still can't get any you tube video's to work or any video's for that mater.i did in stall an add-on called flash -aid. and not sure what happen. so i uninstalled the add-on and un installed flash player a couple of times and reinstalled it.and i still have no way to see any video's at all.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to set up Frets on Fire with my guitar from Metallica Edition (which somewhere up and down i read was of the GHWT breed).On windows, with bluesoleil and GlovePie i have been able to successfully get it running with the aid of a script elaborated in the [URL] forum. i wanted to run this on my ubuntu box (that is my media center).I successfully added and compiled the latest Cwiid from git, installed it and my guitar connects just fine and works correctly as a mouse.
The problem the GH3 script that is posted everywhere just won't do. The guitar is simply dead when i run wminput with that script.I know it too late to make this short but my question is, has anyone got this running Fof with GHWT on Ubuntu (or any linux for that matter)?
Im having a problem with firefox. I left firefox running overnight yesterday only to wake up to a totally unresponsive karmic. Everything was frozen and i couldn't get anything to run. I restarted the ubuntu and everything seemed to be ok until I tried to open firefox. Almost immediatly the first window opened it was followed by what looked like fifty more. It kept opening windows until ubuntu crashed. I restarted karmic again and did a couple of google searches using opera and found out that it might be a adware problem. I have thought of getting rid of my cookies but i do not know whether that will help.

Is there a CLI I can enter and see the issue or perhaps 10.10 and my drivers are conflicting?
EDIT: I see in synaptic I have nvidia drivers and something called a nouveau display driver. Can I remove those since I run an ATI card?
I selected 'Fire' from the Desktop effects list and got an error message saying that it "could not be activated".Why? Does it conflict with another effect? Is there a way to fix this?
