Red Hat :: Rpm Install Can't Find Required Libclntsh
Apr 6, 2010I'm trying to install a custom-compiled version of PHP 5.2.12 on a RHEL 5 server. Since I'd like to do this repeatedly on other servers, I have built custom PHP RPMs that can be deployed to other machines. (I edited the spec file to include all the relevant configure flags when compiling the PHP packages.) The compilation succeeds without error, and all the RPMs are built correctly.
And yet, even though it is there, and ldconfig says it's there, rpm isn't finding it! I'm at a loss to understand why. Just to see what would happen, I tried copying libclntsh.so.10.1 to /usr/lib64. rpm can't find it there either! So what is it about this shared library file that is wrong?

I'm not sure what this lGL is referring to. The readme states that I need the below to run the configure, though that doesn't say lGL either?

Example: How would I find the number of days between 25-12-2003 to 25-12-2010? Could someone write a line of code that takes in the two dates and outputs the number of days? Or is there a program that can do this?

Ubuntu :: Play MP3 And WAV File Plugins - Required Software To Play File Not Installed
May 6, 2010I'm trying out 10.04 LTS 64-bit from the live CD and when I try to play a MP3 or WAV file it gets the usual Search for suitable plugin? "The required software to play this file is not installed. You need to install suitable plugins to play media files. Do you want to search for a plugin that supports the selected file? The search will also include software which is not officially supported." Error message so I click Search and it comes up with the error No packages with the requested plugins found.
Is this because it is in Live Mode and installing 10.04 to my hard drive will fix it or does Ubuntu no longer support audio files other then ogg and other open source audio / video file formats due to copyright problems?
General :: Reboot Not Required After Changing HOSTS File Content?
Oct 18, 2010I was having a discussion with someone who asked me whether a Linux OS has to be rebooted when the hosts file is modified. From personal experience, on Windows I change the file but don't reboot and I've seen others do the same thing. I assume Linux has no exception(s), but is there any reason why a reboot is not required (to at least justify my actions)?

I tried to do a link: ln -s /usr/lib/libpng.so.3 /usr/lib/libpng.so.2, then run /sbin/ldconfig and rebbot as well but it continues to ask for this library.

Jul 24, 2010while organizing my HD (windows) i ran across a file that i couldnt open. i check the file type, and the only thing it said was 'file'..so i made it an image and mounted it on my linux VM (cant seem to find, or mount the host OS HD) ..but i dont know the command to find out what's the file system type so i can read whats in it (i'm thinking its a registry bac-up from windows? but it's like 4g's..the modification date is from 2008..so i'm curious to find out what i saved)

Oct 11, 2009well i was messing with the Gparted live disk and i deleted a small partition of about 6 megs (yes megs). trying to be efficient doing some cleanup of course. but when i rebooted my Fedora 10 i get the black screen saying," could not find the file system. /dev/root". ok, i am useing the fedora 10 live cd now. can i copy that file to my hard drive from the cd? or do i need to reinstall Fedora?

Jul 24, 2011I've got something or someone downloading from me, probably scraping, and i can't figure out WHAT is using all of my bandwidth, and WHERE it's coming from.I don't know what SERVICE its from (eg, is this an apache request, or DNS DOS), what FILES are being accessed (if any, eg apache requests/scrape), and what IP is requesting them.My apache logs isn't showing anything that makes me thing i'm being scrapped. I'm kinda stuck in a brain fart right now and can't remember how to track this down, but the long and short is that all of my band width is being consumed, and 1 of my CPU cores is staying maxed out ("top" says that it's the avahi service).I've shut off the following services 1 by 1 to see if any of them would cause a drop in network usage, and none of them did:

Sep 2, 2009My DVD will not play DVD's. I can only play cd's/music. The drop down box tells me that an additional plugin is required to play the dvd content and do I want to search for this now. Naturally I said yes. The next drop down box says that search could not find plugin in any configured software source. I have been to www.liba52.sourceforge.net and found ; a52dec-0.7.4.tar.gz I'm not too confident about using this, but have it in my 'home' file on the desktop. If anyone thinks it is ok, how to install it. If its not ok, can you tell me how I can obtain the appropriate plugin. I have Fedora 10 installed. The DVD is a Pioneer 104.
