Fedora :: Visual Similarity Duplicate Image Finder?

Jun 16, 2010

Is there any free application to search duplicate images based on visual similarity? By visual similarity I mean the same picture ( or almost the same ), but different resolution, aspect ration, quality, etc. The only programs I found yet are for windows and aren't free.

(Say if uboot is already initializing gig port and devices then why does kenel do it again?)

Did get some worthless display of all installed programs, but could not launch application. Is there a way of switching the old User Interface from the running from CD version?

Ubuntu / Apple :: Finder Freezes When Deleting Files Across OS X Network?

Apr 16, 2011

I have my MacBook 5,2 hooked up to an Ubuntu 10.10 'server' via ethernet.

I've installed netatalk and avahi-daemon on the server. I've disallowed Spotlight (OS X's search utility) from indexing the networked drives.

Everything works as it should, however, from time to time when I delete files that reside on the Ubuntu server from my MacBook, Finder (OS X's file manager) will freeze. I can kill the Finder process. I then try to restart it from the Terminal from the command line but I get the following error message printed:

Code:
LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app.

The only solution I know of at present is to reboot the MacBook.

So I guess I need to know what my options are here. Is it better for me to use SMB? Or is there a config file I can alter? I have a feeling this bug may be linked to certain disallowed characters in file or pathnames as it doesn't happen all the time, although this is just a hunch.

Software :: Searching In Command Line Like In Windows Search Or MacOS Finder?

I am very familiar with "find" and "locate" and many of the options they provide. Does anyone know a tool in order to search inside of documents and files like you would do it with the finder on Mac or with Windows search?I guess these tools use an indexer which is always running and indexing the content of every file so you can search and find a file based on what is in it, rather than by name only like locate would do.

Fedora :: How About Removing Duplicate File

Mar 12, 2010

Anyone know of a good Linux application that will remove duplicate files interactively? I've recently spent a lot of time (read weeks) pruning my music collection, basically by hand. and now I'm moving on to my family photos. Most of the work with the music was done under Windows XP. As for the photos, I have a fantastic Windows application, D'Peg, that I had actually purchased some years ago. This app rocks for Windows. In my opinion it's so good that I would happily pay double the asking price. However, I'd prefer to use Linux if possible, so, what's out there, anything that is worth it's salt? Currently playing around with Picasa.

Red Hat / Fedora :: 10 Duplicate IP No Internet Access

Sep 14, 2010

I had a duplicate IP from another device on the network that would jut not let it go and was the same IP as my Fedora box that was working fine. After screwing around with the other device I finally just gave up and changed the IP on the Fedora box. Now I can't access the internet at all from the Fedora box. I looked in my routing tables in my router and the mac was showing as the mac of the other device. After some reboots here and there that is fix and the routers routing tables are now showing correctly. The Fedora box still can not resolve any domains or get online. Is there something somewhere inside the Fedora box that is still jacked up from the duplicate IP?

So, I'll provide as much info as possible... code...

Unfortunately, none of this worked, and even after the first 2 methods I didn't have ANY sound at all!

In order to dissolve any suspections to a defect hardware, I'd like to add, that this is perfectly working under Windows 7, 64-bit edition.

Fedora Installation :: Unable To Upgrade To 10 Due To Duplicate Labels

Jan 25, 2009

I tried upgrading from Fedora 8 to Fedora 10 using the DVD, but I ran into a few problems. After verifying the install media, it was no longer able to detect the DVD. Annoying, but I got around this by simply rebooting and then skipping the media check. The second problem happened after I tried to "upgrade an existing installation". It gives me the error "Multiple devices with label /boot detected. Devices must have unique labels in order for you system to work. Please correct this problem before upgrading".My system's working just fine, so I'm not sure why I'm getting this error. I have a RAID-1 setup, so would that be causing the error? How do I correct this problem without wiping out my system?

Fedora Networking :: Duplicate Icons In Network Browser?

Apr 30, 2011

This is more of a cosmetic issue than anything, I guess, but it's kind of annoying so I'm trying to understand the reasons for it.I currently have two computers running on my upstairs network. One is a Mac running OS X Snow Leopard (with Windows Sharing enabled and nothing else) and the other is now running Fedora (15).When I look under Browse Network in Nautilus, I see two icons for my Mac.One seems to point to my system via the IP address and the other via the short hostname. If they represented seperate network protocols, I could understand it but they're both representing SMB connections. So my question is WHY? I added the IP and hostname to Fedora's hosts file thinking it might "unify" the presentation here

Fedora :: Nvidia (GeForce Go 7900 GTX) Driver Install Ok But No GLX Visual

Feb 11, 2010

I've enjoyed accelerated 3d graphics for years with this laptop, but since moving from CentOS 5.3 to FC12 I have had no 3d or opengl working at all.My install seems good. I'm running right now with the 'nvidia' driver in 1920x1200 res with no real problems except the lack of 3d. I have just finished trawling the forums again, coming back to: F12,F11 & F10 Nvidia driver guides [URL] I uninstalled all my nvidia packages, re-installed only "kmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.i686" and dependencies, ensured 'nvidia' was my selected driver in xorg.conf (using nvidia-config-display disable, then enable), and rebooted, and still no joy. No errors in Xorg.0.log. My 'glx' extension is loaded. 'nouveau' is rdblacklisted. SELinux is disabled. I have 3Gb RAM and so have chosen not to use the PAE kernel or modules.

Code:

[neek@uberneek ~]$ glxinfo
name of display: :0.0
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual or fbconfig

Fedora :: Removing Duplicate I386 Packages On A X86_64 System After A Pre-Upgrade From FC8-FC10

Oct 19, 2009

I recently upgraded my x86_64 system from FC8 to FC10 using Pre-Upgrade. (related blog link) It appears that the upgrade process installed a steaming pile of i386 packages that are duplicates of existing x86_64 packages. I now get update errors because of this package clash. I have searched the fora and the most progress I've been able to make so far is: I apparently had 8 unfinished yum transactions so I did yum-complete-transaction 8 times and have no more incomplete transactions.

The output of package-cleanup --dupes is not very helpful:

Code:

[tim@servy ~]$ sudo package-cleanup --dupes
Setting up yum
Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit

Yet I still get transaction errors when I run updates via synaptic. It checks dependencies and downloads everything and errs when testing changes. This is the error it gives at the moment:

Code:

Test Transaction Errors: file /etc/gconf/schemas/gweather.schemas from install of libgweather-2.24.2-1.fc10.x86_64 conflicts with file from package gnome-applets-1:2.20.1-1.fc8.i386
