Fedora :: Block Fonts In Firefox?
Aug 30, 2011I went ahead and installed msttcorefonts because I need them for college work. However, when I have them installed, a few sites here and there like Facebook will use the font, but it'll be fuzzy, which is the complete opposite of what the free fonts did for me. I've thought about whether it would be possible to block those fonts in Firefox or only make them available in Libreoffice (the only place where I even need them), but there doesn't seem to be a way to do so.

Nov 15, 2010I'm running Maya 2009 64 bits on Fedora 13 64 bits in GNOME Desktop and it's run perfectly, but the thing I cannot believe is the openmotif UI. I can't believe that a software like Maya on this gorgeous OS looks like a '90 MS-DOS program. Is there anything we can do from GNOME/Linux to change this? or this is a Autodesk lazy programmer that cannot rewrite their UI in at least GTK.

Jul 27, 2011I recently set up a web server at home, using a non-standard port, due to my ISP blocking 80. I just checked my log files, and I see a TON of entries indicating that a file was not found "proxy-1.php", "proxyheader.php", etc. I do not have these files, not intend to have them as part of my website. I did a whois looking by IP address for several of these, and they all seem to come from an ISP in China. Is there a way to BLOCK any IP address outside the US (that is somewhat simple to do?)

so that it load the iptables at boot. I am wondering why do I need this because iptables is already modified and it loads the iptables at boot time if firewall is enabled.
2) When we add the above rule, which file is modified? Another way, where are this rules stored? It is not in /etc/sysconfig/iptables and /etc/sysconfig/iptables_config.

I have two server, one f12, the other f13 (behind a firewalled router) and want them to serve desktops to anybody in the local network. User accounts in both servers are established as username: user1 password: user:1 , username: user2 password: user2 ....... Every remote user should take an available user on server but no multilogin to the same user. Remote users are no adult so they can mistake. That's the problem. On the remote dektop section unmark everyone can see my desktop didnt help.

Here are the configuration I am using. I have put this in sshd and password-auth-ac.

Nov 3, 2009I have FC-4 with Squid and Dansguardian. Internet Users in my organisation are configured to use proxy with 8080 in browser IE. There's no issue with Users as DG working perfect for them. We have Business Development Team, as they need to do most of the research over internet, their IP's are included into "Exception IP List" in Dansguardian. Obviously these people will be excepted from all banned sites, BD Team able to do chat, play games and do social networking and other stuff over the net, which results in more bandwidth consumption and breaking office policies.
I have tried to implement SQUID ACL's to block few sites like " meebo.com, orkut.com,facebook.com etc" but SQUID acl's not coming into picture. any one who successfully blocked chat, banned sites and social networking in DG with my case.

Nov 10, 2009in my network, users has total access to their PCs, so theres a problem to filter (URL, ports,etc.) their virtual machines installed (they can assign self any IP, e.g.)
Id thought about use the MAC prefix in VMware VMs (00:0c:29:*), but i can only found a way through DHCP, and this isn't a good solution (they can assign a static IP to workaround...)
It will be better using firewall (iptables), but I don't found the way to add rules based in MACs with wildcards.

Nov 28, 2009I have 2 hdds, with encrypted / and /home. Besides there are four other (encrypted ext4) partitions I use rarely. In Fedora 11 at boottime I gave the luks passphrase for / and home and the system booted as intended.
Whenever I needed those extra encrypted partitions I mounted them in Nautilus. Now, in Fedora 12 at boottime dracut tries to open all the encrypted partitions, / and /home are mounted fine, but opening all the other partitions gave the following messages in messages.log:

Fedora :: Commenting Out Block Of Code In EMacs In Python Mode
Jan 13, 2010I usually develop python code with emacs, emacs being in python code. On my desktop a version is installed and/or configured that way, so I easily can choose a region in the code and simply click on a menu option to comment out this block of code (i.e. at the begin of each line in the selected code two '##' are put). That is very convenient.
However, on my Laptop, running F12 and emacs 23.1.1, this menu option is missing! I searched within google and found the hint that by pressing 'C-c #' I also can comment out a selected region. But on my emacs it says: 'C-c # is undefined'. Am I missing something? Anyone any idea how to fix/install/update/solve this problem, so I can easily choose a couple of python lines and comment them out?
