I am using Evolution 2.28.3 with Fedora 12. If I go to preferences and try to add a signature or signature script the textbox goes from slightly blue to white but I can't enter any text or paste anything in it. I also noticed that it won't let be check the box for signature above previous message.
Is it broken or am I missing something?
I just upgraded to Maverick yesterday. When I used to compose a new email I was able to add my email signature to it via a little drop down menu in the compose window. Where has it gone? I can't see any way at all to add my signature to my emails.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had configured the evolution to send/recive email. After it had been configured, it could receive emails. Suddendly it can't fetch email anymore. In the inbox of evolution, there were about 200 emails. There are maybe 5K emails in the server, I guessed. I'm not sure whether it's the problem that there's one email in the server too big, so the evolution can not fetch it. The error of evolution is: error while fetching email. Evolution version: Evolution 2.28.0. OS version: Linux xxx2.6.32.9-70.fc12.i686.PAE #1 SMP Wed Mar 3 04:57:21 UTC 2010 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux I'm sure my network is fine, I use pop3 to receive email.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI set up a new machine w/ f15 this past weekend. Everything seems to work fine except Evolution.The first time I ran Evolution I restored my Evolution v2.3 (mbox) files that I had backed up from F13. I did this from the setup wizard so I actually never "opened" Evolution. The conversion to maildir appeared to go OK, and I can see the files in /home/oldan/.local/share/evolution/mail/local/cur. Each file (there are 17,000+) can be opened, so the data conversion is intact.
However, I am unable to open the application at all. In the GUI (KDE) I get a spinning icon that goes away in about 30 sec. From a command prompt as a regular user I get:[oldan@Fedora15-001 Documents]$ evolution (evolution:4822): Unique-GDBus-WARNING **: Error while sending message: Timeout was reached
As root I get[root@Fedora15-001 Documents]# evolution No protocol specified Cannot open display: Any one have a clue as to what might be happening?
I just loaded Ubuntu yesterday and am trying to get it set up.specifically my hotmail.I opened up the mail icon in the top bar and followed instructions from on of the threads here to no avail.When i open it up and try to send an email it doesn't work. I am way new to this. Just fed up with windows.

I want to be able to intersperse my replies within a quoted reply i.e. if the email had three paragraphs, I'd like to be able to have my replies between each of the paragraphs. At the moment, I don't seem to be able to do anything other than delete from the quoted section - I try to simulate my requirements by cutting and then 'paste quotation', but this doesn't always work as sometimes Evolution adds too many levels of '> ' .

I'd rather use evolution because of the calendar. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. The IMAP server is hosted by network solutions. I have screenshots of both clients. I've blacked out a few things for privacy.

I have a simple question that I can't find the answer so far, I use Evolution email client witch is great, the only problem is that the client does not save previous email addresses so I have to enter them manually each time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working happily with Fedora 8, evolution chatting happily to exchange 2003, calendar sync the works...impressed. This continued through Fedora 9 (though a little bumpy as all odd numbered Fedora releases are). On to Fedora 10, yes works a treat out of the box (DVD). A couple of updates to evolution later, through yumex (fedora updates), and evolution has stopped sending email to the exchange server. It's also touch and go whether I can read email using OWA.
On pressing 'Send/Receive' evolution pops the error,
Error while performing operation.
Exchange transport can only be used with Exchange mail source.
How could I back out these evolution updates?
Is there any way to have Fedora use gmail as the default system email instead of thunderbird or evolution?

maybe this is something extremely simple and my brains are just mush after a whole night of struggling (and succeeding) with wifi driver issues.i'm running a brand new 10.10 netbook on a brand new asus eee 1015. i am trying to set up my email in evolution and the evolution windows are larger than the netbook screen, which means that the OK, SAVE, etc buttons are outside reach. i tried to resize, move window - resizing doesn't work and it only moves horisontally, not vertically.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have /dev/sda with Squeeze and Win 7 on it, and /dev/sdb with Squeeze. I've managed to get Grub 2 to boot from /dev/sdb1, but only by disabling /dev/sda from being a boot option in the BIOS. When it is available to boot, and lower priority than /dev/sdb, grub does not recognize the UUIds of the disks. So, I've disabled it for now and can boot from /dev/sdb no problems. Trouble is I cannot get Win7 to boot. Grub prints:
error: no such device: f0903a3a903a081c
error: invalid signature
When I boot into Squeeze and run 'blkid' I can see that:

The Grub entry for Win 7 is:

I don't understand how Grub 2 cannot recognize the UUIds. Can Grub 2 to be made to work with volume labels or just plain old /dev/... descriptions? Maybe I should give grub-legacy a go.
Hi I am running a fedora 10 desktop. when i send an email using evolution the message was not sent but returns a error message:"Error while performing operation.DATA command failedError: 550 Viagra SPAM - Hi in Subject" and the message did not have an attachment just plain words. what might have gone wrong for i have been using this for sometime without a problem. or what security measures should be in place to remove this viagra spamAm I infected by virus on this fedora, all my updates are up to date.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI had to reload from 10.4 to 10.10. On 10.4 I had no problems with the email. Now with 10.10 I cannot get it set up. I use att/yahoo and I set up my pop 3 and stmp setting correct. It will save them but I cannot secure the one with ssh and there is no where in the wizard to store you password. In turn i cannot get my email thru evolution. And the send/recieve button is not highlighted at all. I dumped evolution and then reloaded it but still have the same issue.

I get a lot of email from different yahoogroups, but am having a bit of trouble in one group.
Every so often I'll get a message that is written in rich text and sent from the group's web post feature, but only half of it is displayed. If I check the message source the entire message is there, and if I change Evolutions settings to plain instead of HTML then the entire message is there.
The weird thing is it only seems to be the messages from one particular poster that is being cut off.
It'd be nice if I could stick with HTML and Evolution.
All my email accounts are internet based. I have quite a few:
2 Gmail accounts - my main one and a more formal one for job searches and resume stuff.
1 Yahoo account for everything else so most spam will go there.
1 University account that I have to use while taking a masters degree program
1 AOL account - a holdout from a long time ago that I hardly ever check.
What would be my reason for using a computer based email system like Evolution or Thunderbird? Could I combine all this accounts to one place? Would I want to? I don't have a job right now so I don't have a work email. I thought it would me nice if I could somehow go to one place to see all these email accounts. I will check it out on my own but I thought I would ask the forum for some wisdom.

I'm using Evolution 2.30.3, and whenever I open "preferences" the window extends below the bottom of my screen. I have Ubuntu 11 up-to-date, on an Asus EEEPC Netbook. I can't configure Evolution, because the screen resolution is small and the window goes beyond the screen, the buttons are not visible. The window cannot be resized.
