I have apache httpd server on my Fedora 10I got 2 problems:First : I copied the web page files to its Document Root <var/www/html> & Disabled the default web page. But when I visit http:/localhost ,it shows up the list of files in <var/www/html> as if a ftp server browsed in web page. So how can I set http://localhost load my default web page index.html ?Second :I want to set up a web server on Internet through my router . I applied for DDNS account & input it into router correctly . I set virtual host in server to redirect any access from port 80 to 192.168.1.2:80 in LAN . Just for in case , I also download and running the DDNS software & installed it on PC 192.168.1.2 in LAN . My DDNS provider is oray.cn . It's a Chinese server provider . I don't think there is anything wrong with oray.cn . But if you need its information just visit oray.cn (Google can translate it for you). So I want to know did I miss something to set up a web server in this kind of situation

I have a file with around 1000 IP addresses in it and I need to be able to ssh into each one of them, run a single command, and then exit. I already know the ssh command I want to run and it looks like this:
Code:
shpass -p [password] ssh -p 10022 -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no root@[ip variable] 'reboot'
(I know shpass is not good to use and keys are the correct way but I don't have any other options in this scenario.) if these ip addresses were in a .csv file, by themselves with no other information, how would I create a script to do the above command to each ip until the end of the file?

I cannot for the life of me get this little (simple) script I wrote to work. Here is the entire script:
Code:
#!/bin/bash
ASPECT=`mediainfo $1 |grep "Display aspect ratio" |cut -d : -f 2`
HEIGHT=`echo "320 / $ASPECT" |bc`
SIZE=`echo 320x$HEIGHT`
[code]......
An input filename ($1) is fed into mediainfo, which by the use of grep and cut spits out a single number which is the aspect ratio. This is then divided by bc into 320, which gives the desired height dimension for the file that I want ffmpeg to create for me. Finally, ffmpeg runs using the calculated dimensions... Basically, it's the passing of the $ASPECT variable to bc that seems to fail. It looks like bc won't read the output from the mediainfo line... It always crashes out with:
Code:
(standard_in) 1: illegal character: ^M I've tried doing something even simpler like this to debug by just trying it to display the calculation on the screen:
Code:
#!/bin/bash
ASPECT=`mediainfo $1 |grep "Display aspect ratio" |cut -d : -f 2`
HEIGHT=`echo "320 / $ASPECT" |bc`
echo $HEIGHT
and it does the same, so it's definitely bc that won't accept the output from mediainfo.

I want to build on the code from /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/05etckeeper to work with Snapper, the new-in btrfs (et al) snapshot package.
Code: Select allDPkg::Pre-Invoke    { "if [ -x /usr/bin/etckeeper ]; then etckeeper pre-install; fi"; };
DPkg::Post-Invoke   { "if [ -x /usr/bin/etckeeper ]; then etckeeper post-install; fi"; };
The etckeeper code will work well as a template, but I need to pass a parameter between the pre- and post- instances. The parameter is obtained from the pre- invocation and passed to the post- invocation.I know that something similar to my quest is done with the 'pid' but how to do it in the 'standard' way. Happily there can't be multiple dpkg instances running concurrently (prevented by dpkg?) so I don't have to worry about that issue.
Q1. What is the 'standard' way of passing parameters about?
Code: Select allsnapper -c etc create -t pre -p   (which 'prints' the parameter (int) to pass to the following invocation)
snapper -c etc create -t post --pre-number <parameter> in place of the two etckeeper calls.
Q2. How do I pick up the 'printed' output of the 'pre' call? I think it's just a 'get' from the stream but perhaps I've missed something.?

I want to know is there some more efficient way of passing a pointer to a local variable as a parameter to a function in x86 asm? Right now I have to move the base pointer to a temp register, subtract from the register and pass that, like this (assuming a local var at esp-4):
Code:
mov eax, ebp
sub eax, 4
push eax
Is there a better way?

Say, i have an imaginary std library function, which I want to call.
Code:
void std_lib_func(ObjectType *param);
Now in my c++ program, I have a main() function, and I will like to call a customized function (which will in turn call the std lib function) from the main function, as below:
Code:
int main()
{
ObjectType *aobj;
customized_func(aobj);
}
[Code]...
I tried the below but get an error that the std lib function is expecting a ObjectType* param, not aobj. How should I work this out.
Code:
void customized_func(ObjectType aobj)

I'm trying to implement an assert function similar to:[url]
However, I'm having trouble with file existence testing when the file name has a space in it.
I have distilled the problem down to the following:
This code works as expected, printing 'yes' if '~/test file' exists, and no if not.
Code:
However, this code gives an error.
Code:
The error:
Code:
Which tells me that it is splitting ["~/test file"] into ["~/test] and [file"]. Why? Is there a way around this?
Note that if you simply use a file path without a space, both cases work perfectly. Is this a BASH bug possibly? I just can't understand why the first would work, but the second wouldn't.

"While ; do ; done" is very convenient for SH coding. However sometimes you may be annoyed by your computed variable within the "while do done" type loop. What to do how to pass it out of the loop to the outside of the bash code? A solution is to write it into the /tmp or on the disk... and to call it back after. - not elegant... really not... Anyone would know a trick another alternative that would look nicer?
Code:
# Count file total size
TOTAL_SIZE=0
LISTOFFILES=`cat "$HOME/.fvwmoscfg/fvwmburnerlist.lst"`
echo "$LISTOFFILES" | while read i ; do
SIZE=`du -bs $i | cut -f 1`
TOTAL_SIZE=`expr $SIZE + $TOTAL_SIZE`
echo "$TOTAL_SIZE" > "$HOME/.fvwmoscfg/fvwmburnerlisttotalsize.lst"
done
TOTAL_SIZE=`cat $HOME/.fvwmoscfg/fvwmburnerlisttotalsize.lst`
echo "The total size of all files and folders is : $TOTAL_SIZE"

I have apache installed and I have it all setup so that when I create a user, in their home directory i created a folder called public_html and then that user can upload web content. Users then can browse to their site by going to[URL],,.How can I get apache to show a different or default page if the user does not have a index.html file in their public_html folder. Cause if they dont, you get a 401 saying you dont have permissions to view, etc. So id like apache to default to something else if the user doesnt have a index.html.

I use .htaccess to deny all ip addresses except certain to an internal wiki on a subdomain.
Code:
If access is denied to the homepage users are shown the Fedora test page instead of my own custom 403 error page. When I go to a page - not home - I see a standard 403 error page.
Code:
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Apache/2.0.54 (Fedora) Server at wiki.domain.com Port 80. What am I missing here? Seems like my ErrorDocument is not being reached..

I'm trying to set up a hot spot using a squid proxy server for network logging of accessed website URLs. I really would like to pass all web traffic through a custom PHP program.Like when a computer tries to access www.google.com it first goes through the proxy server, and then the proxy server sends back a URL like URL...which is then accessed by the end-user's computer.. I'd eventually set up the php program to redirect the user to the requested URL after my application executes.Is this at all possible to do, with or without squid?

On FC11 64 bit with Adobe flash plugin for Linux installed, I see segfault errors from "npviewer" in /var/log/messages. The only browser I have tried yet, Firefox, has glitches every now and then. Sometimes it shows the title of a page in a tab, but the page is blank. This can even happen when I try the Google main page. Is it true that npviewer has something to do with Adobe flash? Is there a way to fix the problem? If it is caused by Adobe flash, is there a different plugin that will replace Adobe flash player?

I have been using ubuntu netbook 10.10 on my Dell Mini 9 for the past few month without any problem; it connects wirelessly to the internet via a wireless router. Yesterday in the middle of web surfing, suddently firefox cannot see any website outside of my home network (Firefox displays Server not found page). No help when I rebooted a few times and connect to my home network via wireless or even wire cable; it can access files in my network file server (DNS-321) but not the internet. My desktop computer running Windows Vista and ASUS media player has no problem accessing the internet.

At work we use autofs4, and we also take advangate of the -DOSNMAE=blah and -DOSREL=blah for our automount maps. We're moving some systems to autofs5 and I can't for the life of me figure out how to pass these options properly. There's no 'localoptions' in the init script anymore as there was for autofs4. I've tried adding the flags to the OPTIONS variable in /etc/default/autofs. That adds them to the global autofs process but then nothing in the automounter mounts.

I have a PHP script which will show info from 5 lines in a MySQL database, with a "next" button to show the next 5 lines and so on. Initially it'll get called with a ?page=1 in the args in the URL, and then onward I want the "next" button to link to the same script , but with a ?page=2 in the args. First of all, how can I access the "page" variable inside the script to see what args it's been given? (sorry, extremely newbie question here )
And secondly, what will the code for the "next" button look like? If the script is called "seenames.php", I want this: print "A HREF="...cgi/seenames.php?page=$page+1">Next</A> , if you get my meaning. But what will the quoting for the above line be? I'm sure I've got it wrong.

I'm trying to make some pages. For this I try to host them locally. However, when I have an error in my PHP code, the server shows an internal error 500 page and doesn't show on what line and what compile error it encountered. There is no such information in the error log either. What should I do about it, it's not really nice to comment all the lines and then try to uncomment them one by one. I've been googling for a while, but didn't find anything.. I forgot to mention, I;m using Fedora :P, the apache that came with it and mysql and php from the repository...

I have a Canoscan LiDE 30 scanner which works fine in Linux. I haven't used it in months, and never since moving from Jaunty x86_64 to Fedora 11 x86_64. This evening I suddenly need to scan two pages to send to someone via e-mail, and the recipient is desperate to receive them. Naturally, Xsane has decided this is the moment to screw me.
The problem: I cannot figure out how to tell Xsane that the page size is 8.5 11. It insists on scanning only the left side, 3.99 x 11. I cannot find a page size anywhere in any of the buttons.
In Preview I once got it to scan the entire page, but could not figure out how to save the image to file. Subsequently I have not been able to figure out how I did it. In any event, scanning from the small main window always scans 3.99 x 11. Adjusting the scan area manually in the Preview window allows me to change the size area in the small main window to 8.5 x 11, but when I then scan from the small main window it reverts to 3.99 x 11.
I have scanned the document a hundred times at least, each time trying different buttons, but nothing has succeeded in getting the full page.
