I searched but couldn't find this specific error. I'm using a Toshiba with Windows7 and a new 2 gb USB.
Fedora-13-i686-Live.iso selected Verifying filesystem... Verifying SHA256 checksum of LiveCD image... Error: The SHA1 of your Live CD is invalid. You can run this program with the --noverify argument to bypass this verification check.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop running on Windows 7, I just download the iso file for Fedora 14 desktop edition, the live media download, and burned it to a new CD-RW, I can't seem to locate the file I need to boot it.
Tried on two computers, one laptop, one desktop. Downloaded DVD iso image and burned to DVD. Booted from CD and boot loader appears, and started count down. After the count down finished, nothing happen. Then I downloaded the netinstall image and repeat the procedure but with exact same result, nothing happened after the count down.I tested the download iso by installing it to a VMware VM, and installation completed. I don't even know where to start trouble shooting The only thing common between the two machine is the Nvidia graphic chip.
After doing an upgrade from FC14 to FC15, I then updated the packages by doing: yum update yum yum clean all yum --releasever=15 --disableplugin=presto distro-sync I then get the following voluminous list of issues (148 pre-existing rpmdb problems). I've done an rpm --rebuilddb but no help.

Well, it appears that downloading and installing libclutter-gtk-0.10.so.0 seemed to fix all the subsequent yum error messages, and I was able to install all the packages.
I have dahdi installed. And a wildcard card: dahdi_hardware pci:0000:04:07.0 wcfxo-1057:5608 Wildcard X100P modprobe dahdi returns: "FATAL: Module dahdi not found." and dahdi_genconf finds no spans.
I have commented out the following line in /etc/modprobe.d/dahdi.blacklist.conf: "#blacklist wcfxo", which I believe corresponds to the appropriate module. However modprobe wcfxo indiates that module is not found. I have an up to date fc15 installation.
After installing FC15 on my computer, I cannot boot on my windows7 due to an error 18. I installed FC on 2 new partitions I created during the installation, so I guess they moved before my window's.Is there a solution to fix this without erasing my windows partition? (at worse, I'm ok with deleting my linux partitions for I haven't done anything with it yet).
I upgraded Sunday evening from FC14 to FC15 using the yum preupgrade method. Services such as httpd, vsftpd, sshd, named and even the VNC server are all running. I can connect via VNC client and get a downgraded gnome desktop, but from the console, I cannot start X or gnome desktop.I have searched many threads over the last day+ and found many references to problems with nVidia drivers - and I have a nVidia adapter. but I am not sure what is next to do and need a lead.
I installed a fresh live CD version of Fedora 15 which has that new Unity desktop, but I also want the option of booting to the old gnome classic desktop session. So can I add that with the package manager, or just use terminal with yum install ?
following mjmwired instructions, I manually setup the sudo but I keep getting a parse error whenever sudo command is run. How do I fix this issue?I login as su -, then setup sudo using "echo 'myusername ALL=(ALL) ALL' >> /etc/sudoers". All appears OK. I exit su, and go back to myusername.
I would like to download an already upgraded Ubuntu Live-CD or upgraded alternate CD iso-image. Like an Ubuntu Hardy with all the package and safety upgrades up till now so that I don't need to upgrade with a network connection.Particularly the last two LTSs:
I have a USB which I want to use for a 'live' debian OS. I have debian 7.7 on hard disk and will be using Unetbootin to transfer the .iso file onto the USB.
However, when I go the debian archive there are so many iso files for the particular debian pkg [URL] .... There's iso, iso.contents, iso.log, iso.packages and iso.zsync. Do I download all of these iso files?
I'll be doing a Code: Select allsha256sums <iso-filename> to make sure the downloads aren't corrupted. But when I use Unetbootin and get it to write the main .iso file onto USB, do I then repeat this process with all the other iso files for the OS?
I downloaded and burnt the ISO imagw of Fedora 15 onto a CD. I wanted to try Fedora 15 before installing. So, I booted from the CD. However, in the list of Applications, I do not find Libreoffice Suite. Wil I need to download Libreoffice separately after installing Fedora 15?
This is our first time choosing and installing linux. Our other servers are all windows 2008 x64. We were told to install fedora 13. I can only find a download for the desktop version and we're looking for the SERVER x64 download. Could I please get a link?
Recently installed FC15 XFCE on my new hard drive in my laptop, bring it home from work and it wont boot up.
Only changes I made at work were removing the standard package manager, replacing it with yumex, and slightly changing the panels to more suit how I like to work. Other than that just a little browsing the web on work's wireless connection.
Now it will not boot at all. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+2 and the last command I see is "Started SYSV: Late init script for live image.."
Tried booting into the original kernel (rather than the updated one from when I first installed) and the writing is smaller so I can see an earlier message where it failed a process. This is relating to akmod_nvidia but I installed that a couple of days ago and have restarted a few times since without problems before.
"Starting LSB: Builds and install new kmods from akmod package failed, see 'systemct1 status akmods'service' for more details"
I do not even get a command like where I can type with Ctrl+Alt+2 to try running anything.
I tried adding "runlevel=3" to the end of the kernel line in Grub. Is that the correct way to try and force into command line?
I'm going to remove Gnome3 from FC15 and, possibly, install KDE. I'm not sure about the options I have for it:I saw I can remove just the gnome-shell package. This makes me wonder if it is possible to replace the gnome-shell functionality with a gnome-2 equivalent, getting some of the gnome2 back how much of gnome-related packages can I remove? For example, is it advisable to remove gdm in favour of kdm? Are there gtk/gnome programs that are "better" than kde equivalents and are thus best left untouched, along with their dependencies? finally, somewhat unrelated, do you know good tutorials for gnome2.X expatriates to learn modern kde?
I recently installed FC15. When I try to execute a binary file, it shows permission denied message even when I login with the root user through "su -" command. It also give me the same message when I try to run a python script. How can I execute binaries in FC15?
where can i put the request for the [ FC15] build of:

I currently have an FC15 KDE, set up as I like it as a media server, and with squeezeboxserver (for Logitechs media system) running fine. But I'd like to set it up as headless - and it presently needs to have a monitor attached. No keyboard or mouse and it will boot to the login screen (so not a BIOS issue). I need to get it to boot without needing a monitor or requiring a graphical log in. I can administer via SSH and Squeezebox server puts up a webpage. FC15 doesn't use inittab any more, so changing run levels is fraught. I don't want to play with targets without a safety line ...
i just installed fc15 on a virtual machine and since i wanted to learn how to configure it manually, i chose minimal installation. i have referring the deployment guide, now im trying to configure the network interface. what are the steps i have to follow when i install a new network interface manually? no GUI tools are available here because of the minimal installation. im stucked
I have used preupgrade to moved from fc14 to fc15. With fc14 I had my two usb 3.0 ports working. However, with fc15 my usb 3.0 ports are disabled. I have read the instruction at the common fc15 bugs doc and removed the kernel parameter xhci.enable=1 and also erased the file /etc/pm/config.d/xhci. Still the usb 3.0 ports are not working. I am using kernel 22.214.171.124-26.rc1.fc15.x86_64. I cannot use the 126.96.36.199-27.fc15.x86_64 since there no nvidia drivers for it.
