KeePassX is a fork of KeePass; the outstanding open source application for securely storing passwords. I use it for all my accounts and passwords for all my machines and customers. I ran into quite a bit of trouble trying to build it from source as it requires the Qt and Xorg headers to compile.

I have been using KeePassX for storing my username and password but badly i lost my master password and so now i couldn't open it..Is there anyway to retrieve the password?
I'm switching from Xfce4 DM to Openbox WM. In Xfce4 KeePassX's autotypeing works fine. In Openbox for ex. UserName 'azerty-qwerty' autotypes to 'qwerty6azerty' - whatever the browser.
I'm using pwman3 for both personal and work related passwords. I have a few dozens of passwords in these databases (well over a hundred).
I'm trying to migrate to KeePass for multiple reasons (pwman3 seems to not work any more and is not maintained, keepass has android and nokia database reader clients) but am looking for a way to do this on a Ubuntu desktop.
I manage to export the data from pwman3 into an XML file in pwman3's format but didn't find an easy way to convert it to something that KeePassX can read.
The closest I found is a Ruby script to convert from Revelation XML to KeePassX, but it's written in Ruby and trying to build on it to convert the pwman3 file is going slow.
I have noticed and this now worries me, if I export a KeePassX xml file then open it with a text editor I can see all my �private� details.Just tested it on my old desktop with Slitaz and open the exported file with leafpad text editor and I can see my details just the same.Previously I used RoboForm and when viewing an exported file in the same way you could not make out any of my details. Is KeePassX designed this way or have I not used KeePassX correctly.I have posted this on KeePassX forum and emailed them direct with no response so far.Ubuntu 11.04.
why status of fedora-source is 0, dose this means there's no available packages in this repo? kernel-headers and kernel-devel have been installed, how can i install the kernel-source package?
trying to install F13 onto an older HP a1610n, which uses an nvidia 6150LE chipset. While booting from the install media, the screen goes completely black. The machine isn't hung, as from the DVD activity LED, it's still dutifully doing its thing, just not letting me see any of it. I'm thinking/hoping some kernel parameters might help, but I can't seem to find out what they would be.

I need to run a proprietary VPN client (Aventail) that can't use the openssl libraries that are packaged with 64bit F10:The Fedora openssl package does something differently from the original openssl.org package that makes it incompatible with Aventail (see bugzilla ticket 477073) I also believe the Aventail client software requires 32-bit libraries. So, I've determined I need to install 32bit openssl directly from openssl.org, then link my Aventail client to that. Note that I don't want to replace the 64bit openssl libraries currently on my system.
Based on the Bugzilla ticket, I believe I know how to hook up Aventail before I install it simply by supplying a few specific soft links if I can make/compile/whatever the 32bit openssl.org libraries and keep them in their own isolated directory. how to get the 32bit openssl libraries installed in a little corner by themselves on my 64bit system. give a step-by-step on on the commands necessary to place a 32bit version of openssl all by itself in a directory of my choosing?
I am trying to install logitech libwebcam but I can't get the source of uvcvideo driver. I have that driver installed and running properly and it appears when I do the lsmod, but I can't find the uvcvideo.h header file even after installing the kernel-headers and kernel-devel. Does it exist in a specific library that I should install ?
I first installed Fedora 15 (full clean install) on a spare laptop I had sitting around and the install went flawlessly. I was able to install it and use it right out the gate. I was then able to install two of my must-have programs, xchat and libreoffice without any problems either.Then I tried the same thing on my primary desktop at work (and since I run an IT department, I already have permission to do this :-)
The problem I'm getting is trying to install anything;the package manager is having trouble contacting the source.The exact error reads: "Software source download failed. Could not contact source 'fedora', so it will be disabled."I have not made anychanges to the firewall on the machine and the machine does have a working internet connection (I am posting from the machine). Any tips or advice on ways to troubleshoot would be great. I'm by no means a linux expert, but I can get around the system fairly well
Is there anyway I can remote in to a fedora machine via a Win 7, Vista or Server 2008 machine and have the gui desktop? I can vnc to it but it's command line only.If possible, I'd like to use the defacto std tool called remote desktop installed with the win os.If not any are there any open source-al free tools I could install on win to get this functionality?
How can I install some open source drivers like radeon or radeonh, I just want make my desktop effects work, can't even watch a movie I have these installed:

Ive been using linux for a few months now and every now and again i come accross a program that doesnt have a rpm package but says that it can be installed on Fedora using source. I'm familiar with build essentials and the following commands:-
tar xzvf package.tar.gz cd package ./configure make make install
but from what i have read fedora uses a differnet compiler. I'm trying to install Buddi budget manager and the ./configure command doesnt work, which im guessing is because it doesnt have a configure file? Can anyone confirm how to compile from source and whether there are any tutorials specific to fedora.
I have installed the fedora 14, but there is no kernel source tree.I read the doc "building a custom kernel".But I don't want to rebuild a new kernel.I just want to install the source tree of current kernel.Could someone tell me the way?
Since I've installed opensuse 11.4 instead of 11.3, I cannot install .rpm packages nor execute updates. I get the following message: "There has been a (probably temporarily) when connecting to the software source/repository" (own translation) details: Media source [URL] does not contain the desired medium So, probably there is something wrong with my software sources. Could anyone give a suggestion to repair this since I'm not a linux expert and would like to install new software on my newly updated machine.
I am trying to install CentOS guest on CentOS 5.3 host. I have installed all the requirements for the same. As per documentation, only NETWORK install is supported if the guest is to be installed as paravirtalized.I copied the CentOS DVD in /home directory with folder name centos52 and exported it through NFS. When I run Virtual machine manager and give installation path as: nfs:<ip address of host>:/home/centos52 , the system while trying to create the storage fails and throws following error:Unable to complete install: 'Invalid install location: Mounting location nfs://<ip address of host>:/home/centos52 failed'

I was trying to install a program from source. I cd'd to the directory then ./configure'd. It was configuring fine until this.

I want to look at Red Hat 9 source code on the same PC I installed RH9 on. Yes, I know that is old. The CD package has 3 source CDs and each has a key. I try using: rpm -i package_name.rpm
and I get warning saying NO_KEY. Also, where is the source installed?
We all know we can install a linux system such as Fedora 10 and use it. Being linux, one should in principle get the source codes for everything that has been precompiled (except the proprietary drivers such as nvidia) in the installation DVDs/CDs. Where are the source codes ? Is there a place I can download them ? To avoid confusion, I am not referring to the kernel source that can be compiled to give a linux kernel, but that does not include the drivers, such as intel_drv.so.
To be more specific, the intel graphic i810 driver has been built into any linux system, but where is the exact source? One answer may be that primary source intellinuxgraphics.com. However, if anyone tries to download the every changing (i.e., keep updated almost every single day) driver source codes from freedesktop.org, it is almost certain that the source codes will not be the same as the one that is finalized in Fedora 10.
In what directory do I need to install a tarball containing API libraries in order to import the libraries for programming?I've been trying for a few hours now to get started on my homework - but I need the GLUT api for OpenGL. After attempting to compile a simple test program, I got the error Code: glut.h: No such file or directory
First off, I'm not even really sure if OpenGL wasn't included in the original install or if I even need it when programming with GLUT (I truelly am clueless, lol). But after reading as much as I could, I've only been able to deduce that I need to install the API libraries somewhere on my disc.So I found the tarball, and there are special instructions for installing a linux machine. I found instructions saying to install it in the directory /usr/lib/ but is that right for the SUSE distro?Also, if anybody knows anything about GLUT/OpenGL programming + openSUSE11.2.
