Would a reinstall of Firefox fix it..? Or does it require a Fedora reinstall..? Or could it be a bios glitch/setting..?

Maybe this has been solved already, but I'm not sure...I tried a few of the solutions I found elsewhere on this forum, and others but none have seemed to work.
I install an add-on in firefox 3.6 and now it will not start. I have tried uninstall and reinstalling firefox. deleteing every file for it on the system I could find then reinstalling. it says starting firefox, then nothing.

How can I install the FIREFOX 5 default theme? I installed the official Firefox 5 update from the Fedora 15 repos, but it has a custom theme in place of the default one provided by Firefox? I LOVE the new Firefox 5 look a lot more than the one Fedora includes.

I want to install FireFox and Thunderbird and AVG (free) antivirus so I first went to the Mozilla site for a download, only to discover that the best way to install is as part of a Package Manager.
Fair enough - but what is a package manager? Part of the distro? Where do I get one for these items?
UPDATE - I figured out the Package manager thing and no , FireFox is not an option, nor is Thunderbird or any antivirus.
If I can't get a package manager, the site tells me that I can install with me as the only user by downloading and typing in a couple of commands (Unzip and run, I think). But I get a report that I need a something or other file (library?) for it to run. How do I find that file and why would I be the only user? Surely as root I can set it up for all users can't I?
I guess the short(er) question is: How does a new user download and install a program onto a new setup without a package manager?
Question 2 - this install is for a class and the instructor wants screen prints as proof I'm doing certain operations. How do I get a screen print of, say, a history listing and can I save the screen print or view into a file for submission?
I wanna use firefox for working with codes add-on, but when I run "yum install firefox", there is just Firefox version 3.5.0 beta 4 while the newset version at this time is 3.5.5, so I try to install the newest version of firefox browser.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter a hiatus, I'm fussing with Fedora again. I'm using the 64 bit version of R13. A screen popped up saying I needed to apply fixes to the installion. The maintenance process fails, when tried several times.
FWIW, I get an analogous error associated with packages trying to install Flash into FireFox.
Is it possible that the package archive has been corrupted?
Unfortunately far for all unicode characters can be displayed in Fedora by default, (much less than in M$ Wnd). There is a tool that aim to find and install missing fonts when an non-displayable character appears, but it starts mainly when I accidentally open non-text file in terminal and never when a web-page I open in Mozilla Firefox (or Konqueror) contains such kind of characters. So, I see a rectangle with hexadecimal number of character in it (or simply empty rectangle in case of Konqueror) and don't know if there is a easy way to see it by installing missing font automatically (or manually at last) for range of this character or a way to install complete font collection to display all unicode characters from all ranges.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is really odd - all of a sudden, my firefox says "Firefox can't find the server at www.google.com" , and my pidgin will not connect saying host not found. However, I am typing this on the same computer using Opera. his is absolutely insane. The only odd thing is this in messages:

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running F11 and I want to mount an FTP, but when I try to connect to an ftp server using Places -> Connect to Server, or the bookmarks I made I get an error that says 'Failed to execute child process "/usr/lib/firefox-3.5/firefox" (No such file or directory)' and sometimes it mounts anyway, but most the time it doesn't, and it never connects to the folder I asked it to, I just have to open the mount and navigate to it. I figure this happened because Firefox upgraded to 3.5.1 and the folder is now /usr/lib/firefox-3.5.1/firefox, but I don't know how to update this so that it looks in the right location.
