I have jessie and i have installed kdenlive 0.9.10-2, and it crashes at startup. I try to get a debug trace:

I've been trying to get kdenlive to work properly the last couple of days. But I'm missing some codecs. Some Ubuntu users said that installing the ubuntu-restricted-extras did the trick for them.
I've recently installed the Fedora Core 14 on my laptop. Unfortunately, when I try to launch Fluent preprocessor Gambit 2.4.6 it immediately crashes giving the following message: Received exception: Assertion failed in /usr/local/fluent/build/gambit/dev/gambit_lnamd64/include/BPPTREE_CC.hpp, line 288: status == 0 I'm absolutely clueless of what might be the cause of this problem (all dependencies are resolved, at least all i know of, and all the updates applied, however the problem occurred both pre- and post-update). As i have already mentioned, there were no particular (aside from the libXm.so.3 ones...) difficulties in using it on former Fedora releases.
I was running update manager in ubuntu and my system froze completely. I had no other option but to manually switch of the PC. Then after restarting the PC I got some error lines but I can't remember what they said. It didn't matter which linux version I chose from GRUB, nothing worked. Today when starting up shortly after the Ubuntu 10.10 screen with the blinking dots below it I see a dos type screen with only a flashing cursor and nothing happens.
Is there any way I can fix this? Or repair the ubuntu installation without loosing all my data/settings etc? I'm running now from the live CD. I can access the disk drive that has ubuntu installed on it. I have XP running on a separate disk and I can boot into XP from my motherboard's bios boot menu.
Today, everything was working fine until I started an upgrade. After the upgrade finished, my bluetooth keyboard stopped working, so i connected another keyboard and CTRL ALT Backspaced. The screen turned off, then turned on, but blank. The login screen didn't show, and i couldn't even switch to TTYl. The only way i got anything to work was renaming /etc/gdm and rebooting. then i had to switch to TTY while plymouth was running. Then i logged as root and ran startx, and it froze, once again. If i try to boot into recovery, it doesn't work either.
I am having plasma crashes for the past few days. I'm running KDE 4.5.2 and it was all running fine. Then the latest runs of updates happened and now I can't get a desktop. KDE runs but plasma fails to start leaving me with a black screen and a mouse pointer. This happens in both failsafe and normal, with or without a fresh .kde4 folder and consistently! Here's what the KDE bug window tells me.
I am running openSUSE 11.2 KDE desktop. (Also use LXDE as an alternative desktop because I am running on a P3 with 512 of RAM.) I originally had followed the guidance at Multi-media and Restricted Format Installation Guide - openSUSE Forums and had Amarok and Xine both working satisfactorily for several weeks. Now, for some reason, both apps begin to load and then crash.
I am a Ubuntu 10.4 Linux User (32 bits)! I installed the CodeWarrior Development Studio v10. The installation was OK. However, I am getting an error when I run cwide (see below). The problem seems to be in the library libpemicro_jloaderh.so.

I just updated my ubuntu to 11.4 and restart but it stop on "Checking battery state. [OK]" line while start up. However it starts in recovery mode -> low graphical configuration mode. Is there any solution for this?
I'm running F13 with everything up to date. I've installed Kdenlive thru yum as my video editor, and everything works fine, except that there is no icons on any of the widgets in the application. And yes, I've checked that 'text alongside icons' is set in the menus. It's like the kde icons haven't been installed. Here's what is installed, from 'yum list *kde*':
how to install Kdenlive 0.7.6? I've extracted it from tar.bz2 to my desktop.how to install through the terminal, I also need step by step instructions as I don't know the commands for the terminal.
Ubuntu + Unity = bad, so I installed Fedora 15 with Gnome 3. I am very happy with it! The only thing that bothers me at this point, is the fact that Kdenlive keeps crashing when opening MOD-files. This is the error I'm getting:
Code: Application: Kdenlive (kdenlive), signal: Segmentation fault [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0x7fb895918840 (LWP 3921))] Thread 4 (Thread 0x7fb88e670700 (LWP 3923)): #0 0x0000003f6f0d74f3 in poll () from /lib64/libc.so.6 #1 0x0000003f71042d24 in ?? I tried playing MOD-files with mlt, but that failed also completely. At this point, I don't know what to do.
i did installed kdenlive 0.7.8 works FINE beautifull but list of effects are low..opensuse installed:kdenlive 0.7.8kdenlive-lang 0.7.8but my other pc installed kubuntu and install kdenlive 0.7.8 work FINE same beautifull but list of effects are many...maybe opensuse is missing package "kdenlive-data" because kubuntu there is package kdenlive-data and there isnot from opensuse...why?kdenlive-data is a extra data for effects exports video, ect ect..
I have a query about Kdenlive, when putting avi. Files with audio files like wma. It chugs hard and doesn't play out a smooth rendition of the two. I only went to Ubuntu because I thought windows movie maker was a joke in regards to its freezes. I have tryed a few other video editing apps but as far as I can see Kdenlive has all the basics I need except the smooth file use. I suppose would be: does my 2gb RAM and 64 AMD 4000+ fit a video editing standard? What is the best video editing software out there on ubuntu?
I just wanted to install Kdenlive and I added the requested repositories. The one called "packman" included unsigned files that were labelled "untrusted" by the installer. Is it still safe to install it? What's your opinion?
I have added a couple of clips (1080p50 XVid) to a project, and each of them play fine in the Clip Monitor. I want to add these clips to the timeline and add the Dissolve transition between them.
I have achieved the above and when I click on the Play button on the Project Monitor, I can see the project playing including the transition. All fine so far.
After this first play of my new project, I have tried to move the playback position bar and once I do so, the project monitor goes black. From this point on, I cannot see my project playing whether I start playback from the beginning or from an arbitrary mid-point. I may see a flicker of an image, and the transition effect may appear but that is it until I quit Kdenlive and start again.
I'm stumped as to what could cause this. I did wonder if it was because I was using onboard graphics, but I have upgraded that element of the computer today with no change in the result.
I know the machine doesn't have the highest specification in the world, and perhaps more RAM is needed for this job. I don't believe this to be the causing factor in this problem though considering playback is initially achieved.
Following a search of the internet, I've attempted two possible ways of resolving this: disabling Compiz, starting Kdenlive from the terminal using 'env XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 kdenlive' and running the Config Wizard. Neither has given the resolution.
I have an issue with Skype video similar to this thread [URL] where the test video doesn't work and I only see a white screen from my own webcam. The receivers can see my video and I can see their video, however. Video from my webcam works fine in Cheese and Guvcview. It seemed to start after I loaded the Compiz-config-settings-manager in an effort to fix video tearing (didn't work). Also Kdenlive now crashes every time I try to run a clip, but it was working great before. Even if I remove CompizConfig I still have the problem.
I'm on kubuntu 10.10 and kdenlive 0.7.8 and since the upgrade to 10.10 Kdenlive crashes whenever I import a clip with a segfault.

I have reinstalled karmic 64 bit and am having major problems with kdenlive crashing, again(main reason for my reinstall). It crashes upon openning and I need it,yesterday. it also says This crash information is not useful p, li { white-space: pre-wrap; } Application:Kdenlive (kdenlive), signal: Segmentation fault I've removed it and reinstalled several times same goes for recordmydesktop too!
I have followed a few guides on using video overlays to obtain a watermark. i am suppose to use the Bluescreen video effect along with the composite transition in kdenlive.
I run the following versions of software: lucid lynx 10.04 FFMPEG compiled from svn x264 compiled from git Kdenlive 7.7.1 Kino 1.3.4 melt 0.5.6 from a PPA Medibuntu repos
My video I want the watermark over is a kino captured file which is dv avi type 2 (open dml).I have done Bluescreen video effect along with the composite transition but the video clip which the video watermark plays on top of ends up getting darker. for the bluescreen color i have chosen red which is the closest red i could pick next to the spinning logo. the lighting changes on it and gives it an undesirable effect as far as how dark it it. i tried other colors but then the logo either disappears or the spinning logos black video background covers up my video. the reason for my "video" watermark is because it is a spinning logo (not a picture) which can be obtained in .mp4 format here:[url]
My goal is to put that on top of some xbox 360 modern warfare 2 gameplay. i haven't uploaded an example of how dark it makes the footage look yet but it does.
Another hair-pulling WTF moment... All I wanted to do is add a title to the start of a screencast, nice words overlaying the screen vid. In kdenlive:
1. Project menu > Add title clip 2. Format text etc. 3. Set the title clip's background opacity to 0 = (should be?) fully transparent. 4. Put the clip on the timeline, on a higher track than the screen vid. 5. kdenlive obliterates the screen and displays the text with a black background.
There has got to be an easy way to do this. kdenlive.org documentation seems outdated (their screenshots look different from the version I got from synaptic). Do I really have to make the title in GIMP like some webpages say? I can do it, but that's idiotic. kden should be able to do it.
currently running debian lenny using the non free adobe flash plugin and have just tried watching an iplayer program and yet again, as with ubuntu and sabayon linux, every time it goes full screen after a few minutes the plugin crashes.
is this a debian compatability issue as i believe the other two distributions i tried before are also based on debian?
i like ..... and iplayer both of which need flash, is there a way to make it work? i know with videos i can use the html5 version but iplayer has no such option so for that i need flash to work
Does anyone else get this when they start up the Software Manager?VLC works fine but I would like to resolve this issue. I haven't wanted to fix it until last night when I started to install kdenlive.
I'm using a Debian lenny with kernel 2.6.26-2-686 without desktop and with splashy installed.
Inside /etc/rc2.d/ I've a link to launch a full screen opengl application (a game). After several minutes the X crash.
To try a little this issue, instead of launching my app, I tried to launch "xinit glxgears" using a link in /etc/rc2.d. After 5 reboots, the glxgears crashes 5 times with the same dmesg message.
If I uninstall splashy or instead of launching glxgears using a link in /etc/rc2.d I launch it from the console, the crash never happens.
I'm using:
following message appears in dmesg after the crash:
I'm currently on vacation, and noted that the kdenlive version on my laptop (running 64-bit openSUSE-11.3 with KDE-4.4.4) will crash when loading a kdenlive file that has an audio track previously saved.
ie one can no longer reload a project, after saving it, if one has an audio track in the project.
I note my desktop (just before I went on vacation) did not have this behaviour. Has anyone else encountered this?
When I get back from vacation, I'll compare the packages between the two (ie between laptop and desktop). I note these packages on my laptop, which may or may not be relevant.
