View 2 RepliesWhen I watch any video on YouTube my screen will turn off (no HDMI connection) and then it will turn on after a couple seconds (10 -40 seconds). When I played Borderlands 2 the screen is completely fine.

Some times, when watching full screen videos on: „you tube”, the only way to exit from full screen is to navigate with Alt+Tab to another open window, which cancel full screen mode, or Alt+F4.
Esc and „Exit from full screen mode” down right button, do not cancel full screen. Also on vimeo full screen videos freezes on half way.
I read that these may be because of VGA so i changed the VGA adapter, problem persists!

I have been trying out the new Slackware 13.37 and I have found that KDE will crash anytime I am watching a full screen video with Firefox 4 and attempt to adjust the audio levels using the keyboard buttons. If I use the mouse to adjust the audio level through the audio mixer gui, it seems to work fine. Both of my laptops ( a Gateway MP6954 and a Dell Inspiron 1520) are exhibiting this same problem. Both have the Adobe Flash Player version 10.2.159.1 installed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy system just freezes randomly. It happens about once a day, which is really often imho. It usually happens when I'm watching a video in fullscreen and it suddenly stops. I can't alt-tab or escape out of fullscreen, my mouse doesn't work and the keyboard is unresponsive. I'm forced to restart by pressing my computer's power button. This happens in both vlc and kmplayer and it also happened a few times when i was not watching a video. I was just on firefox, browsing the internet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using ubuntu 10.10 on Dell Inspiron 1525 dual boot with vista. My concern is streaming online videos through websites such as BBC iplayer, sky news, ....., NDTV news channel, etc. Videos are streaming perfectly fine as long as they are not running on full screen but if I try to run them on full screen video freezes (after a few minutes, say 5). Interestingly, sound does not stop. I can still hear the latest news updates but the video does not correspond. Same videos are running fine whether full screen or not in vista.

now my main problem is whenever i change my visual settings from none to extra , i start getting noise on my usb headphone or even on my speakers especially if i play a video on full screen mode it become worse .. it starts constantly makeing buzzing noise. sometimes even when i minimize or maximize or scroll up down a window...
if i put the visual effects in normal mode i still get the noise on video playing full-screen mood but this is time bit low and on none mode i get the noise too but very low... so i m assuming there must be some problem with my vga card which is causing this chaos. unfortunately there is no driver for my graphics card dat ati supports on ubuntu, so i used gallium 3d project using this ppa https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/radeon .. graphics works fine now but this nosie is killing me ..
I'm new to Ubuntu but I installed Ubuntu 11.04 with no problems. I activated the recommended drivers for my laptop. My laptop is: Acer Aspire 7540G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 video card and AMD Athlon II X2 processor. So the problems comes very very often. I watch videos on fullscreen or I leave them playing in ...... While playin a video the laptop just freezes. Everything stops working. I think this problems comes up may be every 30-40 minutes of watching a movie. I'm not a fan of holding the shut down button for 10 seconds every 40 minutes so I'll be very grateful if someone helps. I've removed Syn to Vblank from the CompizConfig because otherwise Ubuntu runs really slow on my computer and the videos are playing very slow and with very bad quality. When i removed it everything began to run faster but now I've this problem with the freezing... Any ideas ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I watch a video on YouTube, the browser crashes when I try to change to another webpage. Typically, the video will play through but a few have crashed midway. It always crashes on changing the webpage after a video starts (whether it finishes first or not). There is no error message. I have searched the forum for 'iceweasel crash' and didn't see anything quite matching my own problem. I did look at related posts and none of them solved my problem. I'm not sure if the videos are HTML5 or flash. Perhaps a mix of both.
There's no problem with browsing regular pages, even if they have video advertisements in a sidebar. This seems to only be happening on YouTube. I have turned off all browser extensions and plugins with no improvement.
I've searched the internet and seen where there was a security problem with Flashplayer a month ago and the symptoms (if hacked into) sound similar to what's happening to me but I am using the latest version of Iceweasel and this bug is supposed to be fixed.
My Debian install is only about a week old and was a clean install to a formatted partition. I've added a few minor apps since install but nothing that would effect this. I also installed nVidia's proprietary graphics drivers. I can watch dvd movies, MP4's, .flv files, etc with no problems.
every time I watch a DivX movie on the internet my system freezes permanently. So I have to restart. I can�t recognize any regularities: it happens in periods of 15, 20 or 30 minutes....

I am new to debian. While I am playing a video in vlc or in any other player its playing well in small sized window, but if i am making it full screen the video is getting blur...blinking..getting slow..but sound is okay.

When I connect to a windows pc in full screen mode using grdesktop I can get out of full screen mode fine by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Enter but when I do so grdesktop/rdesktop does not appear in the list of running applications and there's no apparent way to get back to my RDC. The rdesktop process is still running as seen by the ps command. How do I go about getting the window back? Could Unity be the problem??

I was running kpdf and clicked Full Screen from within the kpdf window, I think in the View menu. Now I don't know how to regain control of the screen. I mean the menu bar is no longer present. Each time I run it, it is in full screen mode. I pressed F1 and read the section on the View menu. But it doesn't say anything about full screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI followed the wonderful guide in this section with all of the steps and whatnot (I forget what it is called) and I got my DVD player working. I have used both the built in DVD player, and VLC with all the required codecs and whatnot. But when I go to full screen, the player (both of them) crash and I have to eject the disc and start over. It is actually kind of weird because I can resize it larger to a certain extent, but I feel once it gets over about 50-75% of the screen, it crashes.

But when I maximize any application(be it chrome, firefox, vlc, media player), the whole screen becomes white and when I escape from it to make it of small window, it again runs normally. Sometimes it work fine, but most of the times it is like what I told above. Please tell me some solution or I will have to go back to windows.
