Running rdesktop to connect the VM on the host connection can be established with VM desktop displayed on the host desktop. But there are 2 mouse pointers on VM desktop. It is difficult to control. One mouse pointer does not work but hanging there. 2 pointers moves simultaneously.
when I sat down at the computer, the mouse cursor continually moves down at a constant rate. It jumps a certain distance regularly until it reaches the bottom of the screen. The mouse works generally. It moves around as I move the mouse,but there is the constant moving down, so it's pretty much unusable.I clicked all the mouse buttons, restarted the mouse.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been facing this problem since months before I decided to find an answer. I downloaded a cursor theme from gnome-look.org and then installed it by dragging the tarball to the themes window. It said theme is installed. But the effects are not visible yet. I then shoot up firefox to see the new pointer working but not outside firefox. I even noticed the new pointer theme works in nautilus for all except pointing (it works while resizing, selecting text, loading but not the regular pointing).

the solution doesn't work because there is no "cursor theme" option in ccsm. i've attached a screenshot too.
Is it a bug? do i need to disable compiz to "have my own desktop"? Is there a solution?
Running 10.04 64-bit. After installing any custom mouse pointers the new pointers only appear when the pointer is in the main "body" of a window. When in the menu bar, title bar, and some other peripheral areas of the window the pointer changes back to the default. Custom pointers are not displayed at all on the desktop or in the panels. Very strange.

I tried num lock several times but it doesn't work. It works in windows 7 so it's not a hardware problem.when i press number keys it will actualy move the mouse (8-up,6-right 2-down etc.).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have this problem on my workstation. The computer would effectively freeze for 2-5 seconds for no apparent reason, then continue as normal. While frozen the mouse would still be movable, but only on one of screens in my multi-screen setup. What can be the likely cause.
System:
CPU: i7-920
Memory: 12G of Patriot DDR3, 6 modules
OS: SLED 11, Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop, using Gnome
Main board: Asus P6T
Video: two Nvidia 9500GT connected to three displays
I am using memory at recommended settings of 8-8-8-1333. It has an XMP profile. Th CPU is a bit overclocked to 3.3 GHz, but my cooling more than allows for it. I ran the computer with all overclocks off and lower memory speed but the issue was still there.
I'm finally switching (slowly) from KDE3 to 4 (in 11.3). There are 2
things I so far haven't figured out:
1. How do I turn off the tooltips which appear when the mouse moves over
a desktop icon?
2. How can I assign a keyboard shortcut to minimize a window?
Little background info: I have a computer where the hdd crashed. Bought a new hdd tonight and installed it. As the computer had no operating system at this point I put in a copy of the live cd and begin to install Ubuntu 9.10(32 bit)...everything went smooth with the install (at least I think). My problem is that when I get to the login screen, I click on my user name to type in my password but as soon as I click on either my user name or guest it basically freezes...Mouse still moves but can't do anything with login or the options on the bottom right of the screen...
Right when it freezes the pixels under the login box mess up, looks like some type of graphics problem?? I'm not sure, but I can't be the first person with this problem Also after it "freezes" I can't utilize the ctl+alt+f1 command either
I first noticed this problem when trying to play a first person shooter game. If I hold a key down such as "w" the mouse glitches and moves incredibly erratically when I try to look around. This happens outside of the games as well. What is the solution for this?I'd really like to be able to play an fps game.I have tried disabling compiz as well as turning off the "disable trackpad while typing" option as well.

So right after I installed 10.04 there seems to be some short of mouse/joystick mess. What I mean is that 2 types of joysticks (Saitek x52 and CH Products Yoke) seems to control the mouse as well! So when I pitch/roll the joysticks the mouse cursor also moves. When I move the middle lever of the CH products yoke, the mouse also moves horizontally. Also it is almost impossible to work with the scroll bars of windows as joysticks interacts with them via the cursor and issues botton clikcs scrolling the bars to the end! This looks to be a new issue on 10.04 as 9.10 had no such issue.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi had a bunch of documents opened and i saved one txt file. I then clicked it and dragged it to the recycle bin slowly but didnt release the button. Then the cursor just stayed like that. The cursor changed image while i was dragging it. It now remains as that image for the cursor. I can move it around but cannot click anything. If i press Alt Tab to switch to another window, it just highlights that file. I cant move about on the desktop either.

While testing an install of Bluetooth drivers I booted my computer into recovery mode so I could find out if Bluetooth worked before networking was installed. The system reconfigured the graphics to low VGA which disabled the mouse. I rebooted (normal startup) uninstalled the bluetooth drivers, but my mouse still won't work. The mouse pointer appears in the middle of the computer screen, and stays there.Enabling mouse keys support enables me to move the mouse by holding the Function key and pressing numpad characters,t this is only a temporary solution.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a wireless Xbox 360 controller with openSUSE 11.1. I use it for some emulators and all buttons work fine. There is however an annoying problem, the Xbox controller left joystick controls the cursor and digital pad acts as mouse buttons. So while I play, the cursor moves all around the screen and bad things could happen. Why this behavior? In xorg.conf there seems to be only just 1 mouse. And if I go in Joystick via YaST, there is only a menu to select which joystick I have. But my wireless controller has been automatically detected, I didn't setup anything. Is there a config file that I can modify to stop controlling the mouse with my gamepad?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a USB mouse and a USB audio DAC. Both work fine separately with linux. The problem is when I try using both simultaneously. The first-plugged device will work fine, but not the second-plugged device. That is, if I plug the mouse first and the DAC second, then the mouse works and the DAC doesn't work. And conversely.
When I say that the second-plugged device doesn't work, here's what I mean: the USB device is detected by the system, but gets "reset" every 2 seconds and can't be actually used at all. Here are some log messages. Here I'm working in the case where I have plugged the mouse first and am plugging the DAC second.

I have a Dell Vostro 1220, with Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family graphics card. I work on OpenSuse 11.3 (64bit), on the latest kde.I work on an extended 1680x1050 screen on the left of my laptop screen (1280x800). I set this with Kxrandr and it worked great,a while... Now, it shows a black band on the right side of my laptop screen. I can live with that. But the mouse does not recalculate for this difference, so that I need to click 1 inch to the right of where I want to click.
View 2 Replies View RelatedA client of mine brought a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop with Debian Lenny + KDE3.5 installed.The problem is that USB mouse won't work, no matter which USB port is used. If I move the mouse, after 5-6 seconds, the arrow moves a bit and that's all. We have tried 3 different mice; one is mine which works flawlessly on my Linux installation (btw: the laptop has its OS installed by me)USB keyboard works with no issues.I have tried the following but with no results:
1. upgraded BIOS
2. recompiled kernel
3. commented the "blacklist usbmouse" in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist so it could load the old driver
4. as last resolt I also disabled USB legacy support in BIOS
PS: The OS will not be upgraded to Squeeze because she is not staying in the country and later support for unpleasant suprises is not possible.
When I open Iceweasel, terminal eg, the mouse grabs the new windows in the middle so I can move it and i have to click so it releases It, but I do not want that.Is there any way to disable it?I am using Cinnamon if it matters.

It opens all sorts of mysterious windows, closes others and darts from screen to screen for no apparent reason..So...I purchased a new debian disk, reinstalled everything even after having reformatted my hard drive a few times under another system that will remain unknown and I STILL have the same problem.. I didn't have this problem under other systems.. I even have a DSL disk I can run from a CD and it runs fine, but for some reason Debian is the only one with this issue.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a set of three professional mics and converters for them (they are XLR mics, so i bought three icicles to convert into the USB port)The computer sees all three microphones, but I can figure out how to be able to record on all three at the same time.Is this at all possible, or did I just waste a ton of money on converters?EDIT: I would like to add that these mics are identical, and I'm wondering if nothing else if it's possible to merge the two mount points so that it appears as one micEDIT AGAIN: I have also just installed Pulse Audio Volume Control, and it picks up both mics. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on Ubuntu 10.04 64bit, and I've got JACK and Pulseaudio both installed, though I don't run them simultaneously. I also have LinuxSampler and Rosegarden, and I have the necessary ALSA drivers. Pulseaudio can output to my external sound card, but JACK doesn't, even if I tell it to. I've seen its full name (Guitar Rig Mobile IO) and chosen it as the output device under Settings, but to no avail. It still sends the output to the internal (and crappy) sound card.

This has started after few things...:
- old video card has died (ati hd4850)
- integrated motherboard video card used (ati hd4250) after solving the black screen (xorg, ati drivers... you know :s )
- since many weeks, computer has not been used before I've plugged a hd7970, solved 1 more time the black screen (.....)
And after many updates + this new video card = cursor is kidding :p
I've tried to change my cursor settings in the GUI config, nothing better.

I need to configure a serial mouse.
I did it on debian etch editing xorg.conf. I chage the mouse protocol to "Microsoft" and it works normaly.
But on squeeze it does not exist!
How can I configure it?
I've been trying out suspend occasionally on Debian Testing to see if it works. After the last time though Gnome won't come back up again, I just get a movable mouse cursor and no panels or right-click options even after rebooting. I can switch to text consoles and kill X but starting it again results in the same behaviour. I noticed there have been a few Gnome and Xorg updates lately.
