Debian Installation :: Install 6 To USB Via Virtualbox?

I want to install Debian 6 on an USB via VirtualBox. Then i gonna take the USB and putt it in on another computer, and boot it from there.
I have two questions:
1. How do I install Debian 6 on a USB via Virtualbox?
I have download Vbox from this http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualb ... 12-Win.exe (i use winXp now).
2. How do a boot the USB via a floppy? My old computer, who i want to install Debian 6 on it, cannot boot from USB beacuse the BIOS dont have "Boot from USB". I have USB 1.0 i think.
So i installed debian squeeze in virtualbox with xfce and i thought that it was persistent. when i powered down the virtual machine and started it up again later I only had the option of installing it again. Do i use save state to keep it in the installed stage? would i have to do that each time i made a change? i want to make sure so that i don't keep having to re install it.
my error when trying to run a VB (Virtualbox). Error as copied from error box. install the virtualbox-ose-modules package for your kernel and execute 'modprobe vboxdrv' as root. VBox status code: -1908 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED).

I switched from GRUB. To extlinux (but it is doesn't matter). From the following kernel update - using debian testing -, at the and of VirtualBox installation I get the this error:
I was trying to install virtualbox-ose using the wiki page on debian.org and following the installation instructions for squeeze! But in the installation process, I saw this error: No suitable module for running kernel found . And when I try to run virtualbox nothing happens! I'm using this kernel: 2.6.32-5-686. I tried re-installing use the deb package from the virtualbox website but I had the same error. Does anyone had this before? any ideas on how to correctly configure it ?
I am a very beginner Debian user, Debian is installed in VirtualBox, which is hosted on Windows. I try to install VirtualBox Guest Additions without success.
First method: in VirtualBox menu, Devices->Install Guest Additions I receive a message: Cannot find the autorun program. Screenshot here: [url]
Second method: in shell I do su and then navigate to the cd rom and run the script /media/cdrom/VBoxLinuxAdditions.run by hand.

The VirtualBox website have a 64 bit deb for installation available for AMD64 Lenny but not for Squeeze. Is it okay to install the Lenny package on Squeeze or would this cause a problem?
I'm not sure if this is a Debian question or a VirtualBox question, so I'm posing here and will likely pose it on the VBox forums as well.When I install Debian into a new VirtualBox VM, it always installs Ext3 as the file system. I've tried the Advanced installer, but there does not seem to be a way to specify Ext4 as the file system.My questions are:- Is Ext3 the default for Debian 6?- Can I specify Ext4 as the file system at install? Should I even care? I know Ext4 is faster, but would that performance boost be meaningful for a laptop/cloud user?I know I can convert from an Ext3 to Ext4, but that's clearly a lot more work than just installing it during initial setup.VirtualBox does support Ext4, as I have installed Ubuntu 11.04 with Ext4 and it boots and operates fine.
When I try to play this game Red Line Rumble 3 on [URL].gamelanding/redlinerumble3.jsp I get missing plugins. I checked if the plugin is installed on Google Chrome by typing about:plugins it says Shockwave flash but no Shockwave player. I have tried looking for the Shockwave player plugin from Debian packages and the official website but I cannot install it from the official website of the Shockwave player because it is only available for Windows and Mac. I am trying to take a look at Fedora for the 1st time and usually like to have a good tryout of a distro in VirtualBox.
Firstly, the live cd image boots up fine and seems to work ok except for a Kernel crash at the beginning of the gnome session, but it does enable basic usage within the live system.
But, when trying to do an actual hd install (still within VBox) Fedora 14 just keeps on crashing the VBox??, every install attempt just aborts, I have given the virtual machine a 20gb virtual hd, 2gb ram, 128mb video ram and have not applied any "unusual" extra settings. All versions of Ubuntu, Mint and PCLinuxOS work flawlessly within VBox.
Has anyone else tried installing into VirtualBox here?? (not just running the live environment)
I've wasted a good few hours with this, is it just that some distros dont like VirtualBox or is this indicative of what Fedora would be like on a real non virtual install??
ps, I have the latest VirtualBox fully updated and a flawless host (Mint 9), and perhaps I should add that I'm not a Linux expert and have only been using Linux for just under a year now.

I'm just trying to install a Jessie i386 image in Oracle Virtualbox.
My host specs are: Windows 7 Home Premium x64
Wheezy is installing correctly, but Jessie is not. It fails during the partitioning of the disk, and gives an error message like: unable to write to disk, start = 236342 length = 0. This is not the exact message but I'm unable to try again at the moment.
When I install Wheezy and apt-get update / upgrade to Jessie, I get a black screen after reboot..

I am currently running VirtualBox OSE but I need USB support. If I install the closed source version, is it possible to have it use the OSE's virtual machines or will I have to redo all of it?
I'm now on ubuntu and I want to install virtualbox on my system i.e. maverick 10.10. I downloaded virtualbox-4.0_4.0.4-70112~Ubuntu~maverick_i386.deb but there was a problem. My software center says "Cannot install 'libqt4-network". I even did it with terminal but same problem: 'Cannot install 'libqt4-network'.
I am trying to build a test VM with VirtualBox 3.2.8, hosted on Ubuntu 10.04 amd64. I am trying to install Debian Squeeze from the daily build (specifically, from the following URL):

(I've also tried the netinst ISO in the same directory.) The sha1sums are correct for each image.
When I start the VM, it refuses to boot, giving me the message "FATAL: No bootable medium found! System halted."
I would like to note that I've used VirtualBox for several years now, and GNU/Linux since 1995. So I have some experience in the field. (Of course experience is not much guard against brown-bag mistakes.) I've tried this same VM with an Ubuntu ISO (simply switching the attached ISO in the config), and it boots and installs OK.
Is there a known problem with the daily builds vs. VirtualBox?
I installed Squeeze in Virtualbox 4 and I need to enable the main repos for debian after several google searches I gave up. I am sure this isn't the first time this has been asked and I am sure that it is a common question.

I have used the same install media to install Ubuntu on a stand alone system and it works fine.
My laptop is running Linux Mint 9 and I am trying to install Fedora 13 in a virtual machine within Virtualbox. However, it's not working. It takes forever to get past the initial white/blue loading bar when it first boots and then it just goes white, so I can't see anything. I've already tried modifying the bootline parameter of the live CD to include noprobe, noacpi, noapic, nousb, and nofirewire. However, the result is the same. Am I missing something? Is it possible to install this?
I used to have my ubuntu 10.04 running with a virtualbox for a windows xp. I remove that virtualbox and create another one, bigger, with 10gb. On the process, my computer freezes.. now I'm stuck on that initramfs screen.I really need to recover my linux (I have apache, mysql, samba, all up and running).I can reach "grub" booting with right shift pressed, but I really don't know where I have to begin.

I was trying to install VirtualBox from AUR [URL]... it wants libpng12, which is outdated and makepkg cannot install it. Whan should I do? Here is what happens:
I first had Virtualbox installed in Lenny, before I dist-upgraded to Squeeze some time ago. After the upgrade, however, I can no longer boot iso images from the hard drive in Virtualbox. For instance, I tried booting a Debian Lenny netinstall iso and the Squeeze beta iso, and had the same problem with both of them. They both hung with a black screen and a "_" in the top left corner.
The old virtual hard drives boot without a problem. I only have a problem with booting iso files from the psysical hard drive.
I have VirtualBox 3.1.2r56127 running on WindowsXP host, and Debian Lenny as guest.Everything seemed to work before I finished the vboxadd setup adding VirtualBox client support. Now the mouse responds to right click opening a menu in right bottom corner of the window, but nothing else works mouse wise.
If I recall correctly, my Squeeze desktop is working whereas my Squeeze laptop isn't.
