I have the Debian 8.1 problem on the Intel Broadwell system , there are some issue which we have been found below.
1.Onboard eDP panel is not work.
2.Onboard DP audio has no sound
3.Intel WLAN is not work.
4.Intel onboard LAN is not work.

Graphic : Intel HD Graphics 5500
Wireless : Intel wireless 7265AC

That returned nothing. So, valve is not in the plugins that we have. Apparently, it is not in the farsight that we have either, if I've interpreted posts right.
And my issue is that I've never built from source or package or anything. sudo apt-get install and adding to the sources.list file is the experience I have. So, if I need to do source building, I'll need guidance.
I had Kubuntu 64-bit installed and decided to try OpenSUSE instead as I was having problems getting the audio to work on Skype. After installing OpenSUSE 11.3 (64-bit), I do not have network connectivity (Ethernet or Wireless)? Neither adapter can be detected? I thought the install would be fairly straightforward as Kubuntu 64-bit detected all the hardware.

I see that I have HDMI connector and S/PDIF connector on the mortherboard, I just have HDMI connector on the monitor, I have no problem with the video but the audio does not work, I just want to confirm that the audio should also go throught the HDMI cable right ?

This is probably the wrong forum to star and I am clutching at straws here hoping someone can point me in the right direction.I own a cheap IP Network WebCam, bought from eBay (like this one:it doesn't list it's manufacturer anywhere and just says it is the F-Series IP Camera.It works well, both on Firefox and IE. However, you can only get a live video stream with audio out of it using IE and an ActiveX plugin or the supplied Windoze only IP Camera Super-Client software which doesn't like Wine.
As I am mainly an Ubuntu user, I was wondering if anyone knew of any tricks to get hold of the two streams, maybe using VLC to view?I've tried IE4Linux and Play-On-Linux to install IE in ubuntu, but the ActiveX unsurprisingly doesn't work. I was hoping that:someone can point me to a forum that might have someone who knowssomeone can tell me how to analyse the network traffic that IE is getting to get an IP address for the video and audio feedssomeone has some experience with these cameras and knows the answer to all my questions I've tried using wireshark, but the output makes no sense to me - I've figured out various addresses to the video stream:[URL]But I can't get the audio stream. I was hoping to use it as a baby monitor, it has excellent night viewing capabilities with its IR LEDS, but having no audio in Ubuntu with it is a pain.
I have Audio and Video over HDMI separately, but when I try to watch a movie, I just have Video.NVIDIA HDMI is my default, I'm using "Debian lenny amd64" and kernel is "2.6.32-trunk" on "Studio XPS 13" with "KDE 4.3".
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with avconv. Most of the use cases work spledidly, but when I need to crop a segment and then splice multiple segments together, I get problems.
The process I use is this:
1. Raw recording of short segments in high-quality AVI, These are produced by avconv, some as screencast and some by combining a PNG file with flac audio from audacity.
2. Conversion segment by segment into mp4 and ogv
Options A: -acodec aac -strict experimental -ab 128k -ac 2 -vcodec libx264 -s 640x480 -pix_fmt yuv420p -movflags +faststart -crf 22
Options B: -acodec libvorbis -ab 128k -ac 2 -vcodec libtheora -s 640x480 -b 500k
3. Splicing of the segments using MP4Box or oggCat.
(I used to do this in ffmpeg, but I have not figured out how to do it in avconv.)
This works.
In some cases I need to crop the segments, using the copy codecs and the -ss and/or =t options.
If I crop the AVI segments (between 1 and 2) the sound is clipping (this also generates a spree of error messages `Non-monotonous DTS'). If I crop mp4/ogv segments, (between 2 and 3) the remaining video, after the cropped segment are out of sync. I get the same problems with both OGV and MP4 playing them in vlc. Playing the mp4 directly in iceweasel works as it should.
I have recently swapped over to debian (KDE 32bit) from linux mint, however vlc only plays audio, no video (This is for .avi's, .wmv's and rtsp streams, probably others but that what i have available to try). I've installed debian multimedia and dragon player will play .avi's fine, though crashes with .wmv's .

Miro won't play audio cd and dvd video!!! I am using Miro 4.0.1 and I can't a play a simple audio cd or dvd video. I have "show all devices and drives" checked. My audio cd and dvd video doesn't not show up on the left pane like it does on iTunes, totem, etc.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am on Squeeze. In the past I have successfully extracted audio from video files. Recently when I try it I get an unplayable file, just some brief noise nothing more. Mplayer on the other hand plays every video and audio file out there. Is there something wrong with mplayer? I installed mplayer from the repo. I haven't compile mplayer since before Lenny.
View 14 Replies View Relatedi have both pulseaudio and gstreamer installed, my "multimedia audio controller" claims to be a ESS Technology ES1988 Allegro-1 in the system information window and in the report i generated it says my Audio Adapter is "MPU-401 UART - MPU-401 UART" PulseAudio tells me Connection failed: Connection refused and the volume control that came with the system says No volume control GStreamer plugins and/or devices found. I am not understanding, here. do I need some driver that i don't have? i installed all the gstreamer plugins that seemed to pertain to volume that i could find. If i am not very much mistaken, I am using Debian Lenny.

I've installed pulseaudio but I still cannot get any sound through the mic.
I have a video file in which the audio runs faster than the video, so they quickly go out of sync. The way to fix it would be to separate the audio and video streams, speed up the video (the audio is FINE, it's the video that's wrong), and then recombining them. What is the easiest way for doing that?

Is there an application that anyone knows about that I can use to convert either an .flv or .ogg file that contains both audio and video to just an audio .ogg file (preferably vorbis+theora) without audacity? I'm fairly certain audacity could accomplish this but it seems like overkill for what I'm trying to do and the computer I'm trying to use does not run it so well.
::EDIT:: I should also mention that I've tried looking on google. I did find downloadhelper extension for firefox which uses ffmpeg to convert the files but I don't see any obvious way to strip the video.
I'm planning to use Debian as the OS for a firewall machine, which will sit between my internet connection and the rest of my computers. Now my network is all wired, no wireless whatsoever. I'm using the onboard the motherboards cat5 socket which seems to be using the VIA rhine driver and I'm also using a 3com 100MBps card.
I can list the machine spec if you want but it's nothing special, an old Athlon 64 rig with 1gb ram and an OEM motherboard, it all seems to work ok apart from the internet doesn't' seem to work. Lenny seems to detect both cards ok and I even used the net install CD and it managed to download everything using the 3com card.
The strange thing is when I'm in Lenny, I can't seem to connect. I can ping google, but when I try and view a webpage, the browser just sits there with a while screen... Could it be that using 2 network cards is confusing Debian? Right now I've only got the modem hooked up the the 3com card, and nothing connected to the onboard network card.

A. Is there a preferred Linux distribution that will make this easier?
B. What is the best format for audio and video files that will be viewed variously on Linux, Mac, and Microsoft operating systems? Files will need to be played on older versions of operating systems and may need a free or very low cost software to play (e.g. play on Win2k)
C. What software is best for recording the audio or audio-video files? Some additional funding might be justified for this software, particularly if it can also support live streaming.
D. What software is best for live streaming both on the file creation and the listening-viewing sides of the process?
Ideally we would like to have a single software suite to live stream, and make downloadable audio or audio-video files for later download, and not require those listening and viewing to have to install additional software. Keeping file sizes small is also desirable because some of our users will probably only have dial-up internet.
When I try to play any music or movie file over my network....VLC or any other player gives me errors. I don't have any problems when I copy movie files directly to my hard drive from my network. This is on Debian 8 if that information is of any relevance here...

Is there any way to get libmp3lame to work with ffmpeg without me having to completely recompile ffmpeg? I have installed squeeze and kernel 2.6.32-3 Also I use the USB webcam Asus. A week ago I installed lenny, my webcam didn't work, then I made upgrade to squeeze and my webcam worked! I don't know why Yesterday I have installed the system again, the base system as lenny (net-install) and then squeeze. But webcam doesn't work

AC power. From time to time something (I have no idea what) turns the (b) setting down from 8 to 2 and the screen becomes very murky. The only way I know to fix this is to shut down & restart & go into the BIOS & turn it back up. Is there a way to reset (b) without having to shut down & restart? Is there a way to discover what bit of S-ware is the culprit?
