Debian Configuration :: Railo Cfm Pages Returns 404 Error

I have a new Debian Linux 6.0 server installed, running Linux 2.6.38.3-linode32 on i686. It has apache2 on front.
The master plan was to run Railo on this one, so I can continue my mad Coldfusion schemes to rule the world, so got the tomcat set up with it, as instructed by some guy I met on a chat. He seemed very reliable.
I got the whole thing working, can view my regular html files and whatnot, but as soon as I try to run a cfm file,
I get an error message on screen:

I am attempting to write an rpm for railo-resin server. To the best of my knowledge the rpm is written correctly, however when I run "rpm -ivh rail-x.x.x.rpm" I get the following error.

On a Debian 5.0.8 I have a problem with OpenSSH server (sshd): when connecting to it from another host there is always a 10 seconds delay before sshd gives login prompt to the client. After the connection is established the communication goes on without any interruption. This long delay started to happen a few months ago and sshd_config was not changed at that time.
Here is a short description of the conversation between the putty client (on MS Windows) and sshd:
- putty client starts connection to sshd
- 10 s delay
- sshd returns "login as:"
- user types username in putty window
- sshd returns "password:"
- user types password in putty window
- sshd returns MotD and shell prompt
Here is a short description of the conversation between the OpenSSH client (on a Debian 6) and sshd:
- client does "ssh user@host.foo.bar"
- 10 s delay
- sshd returns "Password:"
- user types password
- sshd returns MotD and shell prompt
I tried connecting from:
- local host - NO DELAY
- a host on the same subnet - delay exists
- a host on another subnet - delay exists
I've found the following suggestions but to no avail (of course I restarted sshd after changing its configuration):
- on server put "UseDNS no" at the end of /etc/ssh/sshd_config
- in /etc/hosts on the server define mappings between IP addresses and host names for the ssh clients
- on client use "GSSAPIAuthentication no" in /etc/ssh/ssh_config

The system is Debian Squeeze/Sid with apt.conf set to Squeeze as the default. Most packages are from Squeeze.
I ran apt-get upgrade and it returned an error-code.
It might be it is this bug: Bug#574153: python-pkg-resources: Missing file leaves it unconfigured
I tried aptitude install -f, to hold it and to remove the package python-pkg-resources, but i am getting told the package would be in a very bad stage, and i should re-install it. That doesn't work.

I tried to ignore it (yesterday it made me remove xmms2-plugin-all, i could have lived with that for a few days), but it is getting worse: gnomebaker, mpg123, vorbis-tools, cdrdao, etc.
So i remove beloved apps , run aptitude install -f and what not. The result is that either libao2 or libao4 give me trouble (depending which version is installed at that moment).
After the upgrades are available again it's big fun over here. Is it just me or are others running in a lot of "dpkg returned an error message" too? The first time ever i got to use aptitude to get problems solved. Gnome terminal gives me segmentation fault but no error messages. And so on.

I ftp into the server and see the files, but when i try to make a directory or upload a file it returns an error saying that permission is denied.I am wanting the users to be able to log on with their user account and then be able to have full control over their directories. What can i do to fix this problem?I have enabled port forwarding for ftp. What else is there i can do? If you need any extra information, let me know! I'm working with OpenSusse 11.2. I installed and activated the NFS server via yast2. I exported the relevant directory via yast2 (NFS server configurastion)
I'm trying to setup my Linux target to boot via NFS. The kernel boots up but fails to mount the file system. When looking on a capture from ethereal it can be found that the NFS server return error when client try to mount the /nfstest directory from this server. The returned error is 13

I have mounted an NFS share with ISO images on my kvm Server. If i connect such a iso to a VM (using virt-manager) for installing a operating system i get the following error on startup: Error starting domain: internal error Process exited while reading console log output: char device redirected to /dev/pts/1 qemu: could not open disk image /mnt/iso/public/Linux/Distributions/Debian/debian-504-amd64-netinst.iso: Permission denied
The problem is definitly that kvm (or qemu or libvirt-bin, i don't know) tries to set permissions (rwx owner for libvirt-qemu, --- for kvm group, --- for other) on the file, although it has read permissions. Is it possible to change this behavior?

I have a service on my Suse 11 server which runs an ssh command (using openSSH) on another box.The output below is returned, but legitimate output is also returned as if the command had executed successfully. For example, the service executes an ls command through ssh, gets the error below, but also the contents of the remote directory as output. This is a problem because the service retries the command until it receives no error. I have been unable to replicate this manually from the command line. Does anyone know what might cause this or what this error really means?

I have apache running on my server, and also Zoneminder, a surveillance system running on the same machine. Both services runs without glitches, and I think apache's config as well as ZM's config are fine. I am not sure I understand how apache (not to mention the whole thing zoneminder, apache, web browser...) works. Pretty hard to manage when you dont know what you are doing. Also, when I try the supposed to work zoneminder webpage in my web browser, I get nothing (a blank page), or sometimes a "Not found" error message. The latest seems to be from apache because it is the same font as the "It works!" message when I try http://localhost:80
The only bit of information I have so far is in the apache error log (/var/log/httpd/error_log) and it says:

I recently tossed Ubuntu for Debian Unstable for my personal machines and I'm having trouble building Emerald into a package. I've already configured and installed the package (using the usual ./configure, make, make install) but I wanted to make a deb for future use (for myself and for others). However every time I try to run dpkg-build I get the following error message.

I'm trying to make some pages. For this I try to host them locally. However, when I have an error in my PHP code, the server shows an internal error 500 page and doesn't show on what line and what compile error it encountered. There is no such information in the error log either. What should I do about it, it's not really nice to comment all the lines and then try to uncomment them one by one. I've been googling for a while, but didn't find anything.. I forgot to mention, I;m using Fedora :P, the apache that came with it and mysql and php from the repository...

I'm having a little problem here. That, or I'm missing the obvious staring me in the face. I have this file server, called toad. I nuked it's system disk, reorganising the partitions and upgrading to openSUSE 11.3 x64. I installed vsftd with "Yast FTP server", and the config looks OK. I even compared it with that of another machine. But when I try to connect, this is what I get:
user@mainmachine:~> ftp
ftp> open toad
Connected to toad.geuens.org.
500 OOPS: could not bind listening IPv6 socket
I'm prettige sure IPv6 is deactivated. The firewall is disabled on both machines. I've looked this over again and again. Can't find it. It's not the connecting machine, I've tried from another.

Running start_navicat script in kubuntu 11.04 returns bash error ./start_navicat: 10: arithmetic expression: expecting EOF: "2*100+13 2". The same navicat version runs fine in ubuntu 10.10 and 10.04. I tried deleting navicat folders - including hidden folders and reinstalling, but get the same error.Can't test ubuntu 11.04 because i can't get it running (black screen - even grub). xubuntu 11.04 is very unstable too. kubuntu 11.04 is very stable otherwise.no idea what to do, other than continue using ubuntu 10.10 (which is the best ubuntu version to date imho)

I recently installed my redhat 6.0 and there was no internet connection so i read some threads that guided me to try and detect my network card which detected nothing. I then went ahead to download ethernet realtek ethernet gigabyte card driver for my version of linux. I'm trying to burn an audio CD with Brasero. Every time I try this, it fails, but it works when writing to an image file. Brasero quits with the following messages in log:

I have downloaded CDemu from http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdemu/ and installed it without errors. However when I go to /usr/local/bin and run ./cdemud it returns the following error,
