Debian Multimedia :: Libao2 Or Libao4 Returns Dpkg Error

I tried to ignore it (yesterday it made me remove xmms2-plugin-all, i could have lived with that for a few days), but it is getting worse: gnomebaker, mpg123, vorbis-tools, cdrdao, etc.
So i remove beloved apps , run aptitude install -f and what not. The result is that either libao2 or libao4 give me trouble (depending which version is installed at that moment).
After the upgrades are available again it's big fun over here. Is it just me or are others running in a lot of "dpkg returned an error message" too? The first time ever i got to use aptitude to get problems solved. Gnome terminal gives me segmentation fault but no error messages. And so on.
I'm having some issues building deb packages. dh_make --createorig behaves as expected, but when I attempt to buld the package with dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot the build dies on a dpkg-source error.
I just wanted to post this in the forums for anyone else that was having the same issue. I looked all over the internet for 4 hours and could not find a solution and finally figured out what to do. Maybe this will help save some time for someone else.

I want to install gcc on my Pyramid linux which is debian based. I downloaded gcc.deb. When I want to install this file, it gives me "dpkg command not found" error! I also get this error when I want to install other .deb files using dpkg command " dpkg -i finename.deb. I did some research and it seams that I should install package on my system, but package file is .deb file and I can't install .deb file! What should I do to solve the problem??? Should I install any thing on my system to install .deb files??
When I tried to upgrade my xubuntu 10.04 , I got this error

1- replace the file status with status-old 2- replace it with all the backups located in /var/backups/

I have a new Debian Linux 6.0 server installed, running Linux 2.6.38.3-linode32 on i686. It has apache2 on front.
The master plan was to run Railo on this one, so I can continue my mad Coldfusion schemes to rule the world, so got the tomcat set up with it, as instructed by some guy I met on a chat. He seemed very reliable.
I got the whole thing working, can view my regular html files and whatnot, but as soon as I try to run a cfm file,
I get an error message on screen:

The system is Debian Squeeze/Sid with apt.conf set to Squeeze as the default. Most packages are from Squeeze.
I ran apt-get upgrade and it returned an error-code.

I tried aptitude install -f, to hold it and to remove the package python-pkg-resources, but i am getting told the package would be in a very bad stage, and i should re-install it. That doesn't work.
When trying to install php5 I got the following result. Tried to apt-get clean, autoclean, remove --purge then reinstall the mentioned packages without any success.
dpkg --configure -a didn't get any better result.

I was triyng to install Debian on a AMD K6-2. I use debootstrap, and installed Lenny, with a kernel linux-image-2.6.26-2-486.
After that apt-get update and apt-get upgrade and I get:

AT YOUR OWN RISK, you can force the installation of this version of udev WHICH DOES NOT WORK WITH YOUR RUNNING KERNEL AND WILL BREAK YOUR SYSTEM AT THE NEXT REBOOT by creating the /etc/udev/kernel-upgrade file. There is always a safer way to upgrade, do not try this unless you 0understand what you are doing!

I ftp into the server and see the files, but when i try to make a directory or upload a file it returns an error saying that permission is denied.I am wanting the users to be able to log on with their user account and then be able to have full control over their directories. What can i do to fix this problem?I have enabled port forwarding for ftp. What else is there i can do? If you need any extra information, let me know! Pulseaudio got installed by default here during installtion. Since I don't want it I first ran "systemctl disable pulseaudio", "pulseaudio --kill", then without rebooting I use mpd with alsa alone and it worked fine.
But then i rebooted, and now all applications, mpd, mpv, chromium etc just says that alsa returns with "Device or resource busy", tried rebooting again with no effect.
The soundcard appears as card 1 according to the output of "aplay -l", and defined that card 1is suposed to be default with this in "/etc/asound.conf":

I need to re-install Etch recently but forgot to backup /var/lib/dpkg folder, I know there's archive server provides old packages, but packages from www.debian-multimedia.org does not. I have tried its mirror sites but it seems they had removed the old packages from Etch and earlier releases.
I have a DVD with a error located at a certain time. Each time I watch the DVD and then come to that point Movie Player (or vlc player) returns a error. Now I want to rip this DVD but all the rippers I tried return a error at that point when they try to rip it. Rippers I tried:

Now I want to know ain't there a ripper which can read over these errors and still make a decent rip?
during an "apt-get install" the filesystem of a virtual machine filled up and so it failed. I have now increased the file-system size but running the same "apt-get install" again results in this error: "E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem." I'm working with OpenSusse 11.2. I installed and activated the NFS server via yast2. I exported the relevant directory via yast2 (NFS server configurastion) I'm trying to setup my Linux target to boot via NFS. The kernel boots up but fails to mount the file system. When looking on a capture from ethereal it can be found that the NFS server return error when client try to mount the /nfstest directory from this server. The returned error is 13
