I'm trying to find the full numeric OID's for a device. I'm able to do an snmpwalk on the device and get a ton of data, however, I don't want the pretty names, I just want the numeric OIDs. I would have thought this was relatively easy, and I'm sure I did it years ago.. but for now, I can't find a "built-in" way to do it.
Currently using net-snmp..

I'm getting some information about C language and this session of a C book (follow the above link) is using a bad example for me. When I'm trying this example of function returning a pointer, my compiler is stating a warning that I return a pointer to a local variable. I realized that it is error prone after all this variable may be override before the function has done his execution. And the author is fooling me saying that this example is "perfectly safe". I have a script that i want to add some functionality to, but im new to python. Right now it runs command line as ./script https://server user passwd verbose , which returns alot of informtion. I would like it to be able to only return information for a particular function when a flag is passed. exp: ./script https://server user passwd verbose -m (for memory only)
Under the ClassesToCheck section are the different things that can be retrieved. I would like that when you run the script as ./script https://server user passwd verbose -m, it returns only the 'Memory' info. -c would be for 'CPU', etc... Also, i would like the OK at the end of the script to be the first line that is return in the output instead of the last.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a pdf file (nasm documentation) that used to be displayed perfectly with xpdf, but now all code example lines remain blank. On the terminal I get repeated lines such as:

I have been searching for some time for a font that can be used to put together letters and words for examples to get children learn how to write. I need letters with and without arrows pointing in the direction of how to write the letter. This font will be used for creating worksheets for letters and words. I need to be also able to change the colour of the font to really light gray so that children can also trace the letters.
I found alot of commercial software but was looking something thats free and can be used by a tuition company/tutor to print materials for their students without any license restrictions. In a worst case I can blow up individual letters in open office and manually draw the arrows but would be great if a font exists that can be used as would give great scope in future projects.
I have a Canon iR3570/iR4570 PXL, and installed the driver CQue 1.0 TCP/IP Queue from Canon webpage.
The problem:
- if i try to print an OpenOffice or LibreOffice Calc with an image and text, the image is not printed (the space is blank).
- if i try to print an OpenOffice or LibreOffice Calc with just an image, it's printed great.
- if i try to print an OpenOffice or LibreOffice Impress, the images are not printed but the text is printed great.

Both worked fine while I was on 10.10.After upgrading to 11.04 both of them became irresponsive to Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V/Ctrl+{Any alphabet letter} combinations. However these combinations work in non-Java apps (e.g. gedit).Besides that Ctrl+Alt+L (Lock screen) is not handled by the system, no matter what application is active.Disabling unity does not help. Starting in ubuntu classic w/o effects does not help either.

I like having a quick way to keep more frequently accessed folders at the top of the list in explorer. In windows, folder "[zippidy do da]" would appear above folder "aardvark" because of the brackets, but Ubuntu's file browser ignores the brackets, making my old method ineffective. This issue is similar to thread [URL] .... and it goes like this:
Eterm can be started either from the menu or from the command line, but it returns no prompt. It just hangs there, displaying a backdrop within the terminal, pressing <Enter> just moves the block cursor down and other input keys appear normally in the terminal, there is just no response or interpretation from the shell.
It seems that for some reason the shell (bash in my case) just does not interact with Eterm application.
One more point is that if the Eterm is terminated by the Close (X) Button, it seems to go in some kind of loop and needs to be killed from the command line (killall Eterm), whereas SIGINT (<Ctrl>+<C> inside the Eterm window) exits properly with no leftover zombies.
I going through the Python course on Codeacademy. I have some trouble understanding what I'm doing wrong. This is my code below:

The code gives me an error: "Oops, try again. Your function fails on count([1],7). It returns 1 when it should return 0."
It should be outputting 3 because 1 occurs 3 times in the list.
I've been using ubuntu earlier and when connecting to a samba shared folder it appeared in /home/user/.gvfs folder. I can browse the samba share, it's ok, but I prefer Midnight Commander than Nautilus when copying files. So, where does it reside in Debian?

My problem is all of a sudden get a message on deleting files that the trashcan has reached its full capacity and needs to be emptied manually. After emptying the trashcan in Dolphin I still can't delete the files I want and get the same message again and again. I have shut down the computer before, but today that didn't seem to help at all. Also it seems a bit drastic to shut down the machine everytime this happens. Is there perhaps another 'manual' way of emptying the trashcan? I have found a post recommending to rm -in my case- the directory in question in the terminal, which worked, but it doesn't solve the trashcan problem.

I am implementing a simple serial protocol where my ARM9 board, running Linux is communicating to a slave peripheral board. The Master sends a 12 byte data stream and the peripheral board returns status in a 23 byte response. The serial port is opened in raw mode. It works perfectly on 44 reads; however, on the 45 read the data returned from the read() is incorrect. I've framed what's being sent on an oscope and it is correct.The coincidence is that 23 x 44 = 1012. It's as though the receive buffer is 1K and when I go past the boundary I get bad data. The read following the bad one is good again.I've tried flushing the buffer before reading but get the same result.Here's the port initialization code:

I've installed krdc in Debian 7 amd64 desktop (with KDE), but I cannot connect to anything with it:
"Connect to" combobox is empty. Entering "rdp://Username@192.168.1.2" shows messagebox "The entered address cannot be handled". "Plugins" list is empty. "apt-cache search krdc" does not suggest any kind of "-plugn"'s that I could install. Deleting "~/.kde/share/config/krdcrc" does not work.
If launched inside terminal, it outputs this:
