No fonts found; this probably means that the fontconfig library is not correctly configured. You may need to
edit the fonts.conf configuration file. More information about fontconfig can be found in the fontconfig(3) manual page and on [url] Domain installation does not appear to have been successful. If it was, you can restart your domain by running 'virsh start solhvm123'; otherwise, please restart your installation.
Do you know what this a problem?
If I chagne --vnc to --sdl and run below command on my desktop to appear windows and disappear for 1-3 seconds, virt-install -n solekhvm3 --ram 1024 --hvm --disk path=/dev/vol1/solek --sdl --cdrom /dev/cdrom --os-variant solaris10 --force

View 17 Replies View Relatedwhat I need is : 1/ make run the wifi USB card D-Link DWA-110
2/ I saw I had problems with yum: when I launch the "add/remove programs" button in the menu, if the "c5-media" item is checked (and only this one) and the DVD of centOS is in the drive, then I have this message : "cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: c5-media. Please verify its path and try again" I specify I modified the /var/run/yum.pid file (removed the only number which was here)
the main issue for me is the yum failure, because it could be needed for the wifi problem. one thing after the other! the installation is totally new (except that I modified the yum.pid file).
I'm trying to install DFE-550TX , network device of D-LINK, with no success. I'm using CentOS 5.6.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat I'm trying to do is wget images, however, I'm not sure how to do it 100% right. What I've got is a index.html page that has images (thumbs) that link to the full size images. How do I grab the full size images?
Example of links on the page:
<a href="images/*random numbers*.jpg" target="_blank"><img border=0 width=112 height=150 src="images/tn_*random numbers*.jpg" style="position:relative;left:3px;top:3px" /></a>
I tried:
wget -A.jpg -r -l1 -np URLHERE
but only got the thumbs.
Well I downloaded an ATI driver, and there are some installation instructions:
Launch the Terminal Application/Window and navigate to the ATI CatalystTM
Proprietary Linux driver download. Enter the command sh ./ati-driver-installer-10-6-x86.x86_64.run to launch the ATI CatalystTM Proprietary Linux driver installer. The ATI CatalystTM Proprietary Linux Driver Setup dialog box is displayed.
My result:
marek@marek-desktop:~$ sh ./ati-driver-installer-10-6-x86.x86_64.run
sh: Can't open ./ati-driver-installer-10-6-x86.x86_64.run
I dual boot on separate HHDs. I have just done a fresh install with updates. I installed the restricted driver from the repositories, and I get an error message from ati catalyst (administration). Also I have "unsupported hardware" at the bottom of the screen.
Graphics card is a XFX ATI HD 5770 on this system, and I just sold 2 8800 GT's yesterday, and bought two more XFX HD 5770's for CF in my other system.
I didn't do a bad thing, 'cause I was really groovin' on Ubuntu, that I just installed at the beginning of the week.
i'm trying to install the pyirrlicht module. I have irrlicht already there but the python module has no install instructions and even less of a help forum.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an old PC running 900Mhz Tbird CPU and 768Mb RAM. I also upgraded the HDD to a 60Gb. I've tried to install Gentoo, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Linux Mint and all and everyone of them stop at the line "checking hlt instructions" during the installtion. I've looked over the web and there are quite a few cases with the same problem, nonetheless the solution is not clear to me, still. I've managed to install CentOS, though, with the help of web forums, bypassing the error by typing from the Kernel "linux no-hlt" and pressing enter. Now when I rebooted the machine it keeps doing even though the install completed succesfully. I'm interested in loading CentOS to build a server since I used to run Ubuntu 8.04 on that box without any problems.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed the latest version of Centos 5.4.It came with Xen version 3.0.2 I think.I am running it on a Dell R510. It supports hardware virtualization.I was able to virtualize Windows XP and Windows 2003 server on it by selecting the install from DVD option.I was having problems trying to get a PCI DekTek card seen by the virtualized Windows domains so I tried to upgrade XEN to 3.4.2.I used the repos available from Gitmo and it went easy.
The only problem is now that when I try to create a "New virtual host" it only allows me to use HTTP, FTP option and not the iso or DVD option. They are greyed out. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and might know a work around for the Xen 3.4.2 problem. Perhaps a better location for the kernel or something.
So I recently purchased a VPS and had CentOS strongly recommended by a friend for my servers OS. I have a server, and one IP.
My /etc/resolv.conf reads...
nameserver 203.98.68.110
nameserver 203.98.68.210
I recently bought a D-Link DWA-140 USB wifi adapter for use with my CentOS 2.6.18-194.el5 hoping that it would work seamlessly due to its popularity but having issues with it.
The USB adapter is detected in the System > Administration > Hardware.
It also appears in lsusb:
but when I went into System > Administration > Network it does not appear in the Hardware tab.
After some searching I found out that I need to install some packages which I did.
Namely, rt2870-firmware rpm and kmod-rt2870sta
Then I turned NetworkManager on as a service and through the docked applet on the top menu bar I was able to connect to my wifi net.
However when I rebooted the connection wasn't re-established and when I click on the NetworkManager applet icon it tells me "No network devices available"
Where did my USB adapter and joy go? :(
I can't for the life of me get the adapter to re-surface even if I go to System > Administration > Network and try create a new interface.
No devices appear there in the Devices tab and nothing in the Hardware tab.
I am Setting up 3 HP Proliant servers with 2 250GB Hard Drives in each. How Do I mirror the drives, and link all the servers together??? I am installing Centos 5.3. From the software install menu I installed Gnome, and the Server software, but can't seem to figure out how to get into the server side of it from gnome. Sorry for all the questions, but I have been out of the loop of all this for about 8 years and trying to re-learn everything.

in 32 bit, it is <code>ln -s /usr/java/latest/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/.</code> I can not even find a libjavaplugin_oji.so in x64!
CentOS 5.2. I have D-Link WUA-1340 wireless USB adapter that uses the rt73usb driver / module. At least I worked in Fedora 9 out of the box with that driver / module. I assume the Fedora 9 kernel supported it.
I really do not want to try and add a custom kernel to my instalation but I am wondering how I can get this to work on centOS 5.2.
I know first step is to get the adapter to be recognized by the system kernel. I think I can configure the network after that.
I'm trying to compile libetpan-0.57 on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.2 64-bit and it is refusing to link against the 64 bit system libraries. I've tried everything I can think of. I've tried to hack libtool, run the command make was trying to run manually and changing the library search paths but nothing works. When I run the command make tried to run manually and change -L/usr/lib to -L/usr/lib64 most of the "skipping incompatible" library messages disappear except for "/usr/lib/libexpat.so: could not read symbols: File in wrong format." Below is the output when I run make code...

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running a Poweredge 4400 with a 3com card and an intel card covered under e100.
I'm using centos 5.5 in its default server config coming from gentoo.
I have no link on either of the two interfaces, ever. The card initialises with ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready and then falls back to half duplex but still with no connection.
I have manipulated most of the general settings that can be changed with ethtool.
Set to manual configuration with 100/full duplex
The cards are recognized alone and together. I have setup static interfaces with no problems. The ping to the local interface such that:
nic = 192.168.1.10
ping 192.168.1.10
we get back route times and all is well
ping 192.168.1.1
no route...
I have tried several different cables verified good other connections. I have verified the ports I am connecting to work correctly. I have manually shut down the onboard nic (in bios) and tried the 3com card alone. I have tried pci=routeirq, thinking there might be an irq issue.
If this was just the one card, I would install another and move on, but both nics are acting in exactly the same way.
