I'm trying to configure a reverse proxy for Oracle Database connections. What I have:
Host outside --> Reverse proxy --> Oracle Database
The "Revese proxy" has two IP, one for local and another for outside.I've tried with iptables, but unable.Now I'm trying with "redir".When I do a tnsping database, it works and says OK. But executing sqlplus user/pass@database, it tries to connect but time later I receive a timeout. What i do is a redir from port 1521 in "Reverse proxy" to 1521 in "Oracle database" why this doesn't work or any other way to do it?

make deb package with samll project of php and myysql database such as login.php, index.php controll.php etc and database_name.sql. when i install this deb package my php script folder should go in /var/www file and databse should create automatically. i edit the control file of deb package , in depends line i set apache2, php and mysql because these three thing are necessary to run my script till here it is ok .but i am not able to send my project in /var/www and configure database automatically . i think for this i have to write .sh file but i dont know bash scripting

I am running 2 CentOS5.3 boxes. I have one webserver connected to the internet and behind a firewall. I would like to set up the 2nd server (database) behind the webserver and completely inaccessible from the internet. Ideally so it can only be accessed by first ssh'ing onto the webserver and then ssh'ing from there onto the database. The webserver connecting locally to database.
From what I have seen it looks like I need to set this up using NAT but I have never done this and do not know what is involved. Can someone point me in the right direction and optimally outline the steps I need to take to hook this up? Do I need to worry about any specific hardware configuration as well?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dedicated server running Centos 5.2. I have a Wordpress MU site that's setup over apache 2, mysql 5, php5, and I use phpmyadmin as well. I'm able to read the database as my website appears perfectly fine, however, I can not write to it. What exactly do I need to install on my Centos sever to allow my site to interface with the database? I've used shared servers and VPS's with no problems but this just won't work. The support team seems clueless and I'm ready to ask them to reinstall my entire OS and everything else again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed mysql and need to move the databases to a new location.I say 'no problem' I shutdown mysql (service mysqld stop) I configure my.cnf to point to the new location, which in my case is: /mnt/data/mysql. I know not very original naming. I do the old chown -R mysql:mysql /mnt/datal/mysql AND I copy all the files over (cp -R /var/lib/mysql /mnt/cgsvol/mysql) chmod 777 /mnt/data/mysql I ensure the chown worked (ls -a -l) and the files are there from the old directory. I can't load the daemon again. I check the log (/var/log/mysqld.log) and it can't write any test file to that directory.

I have installed on a remote server phpmyadmin 3.3.1 and mysql 5.1.46 on a centos 5.4 OS.
Any newly created user with phamyadmin is unable to login both from mysql command line (from localhost) and phpmyadmin (localhost and remotely).
No prob when the user is created with mysql command line (from localhost). All of the users created with phpmyadmin, are not "visible" recognized from the show user command via the mysql command line. The setting I used when I create any user was the same as the ones with the mysql command line creation.
The error message I get when accessing from mysql command line (from localhost) is the following: "Access denied for user ... @localhost (using password: yes)"
How do I know what sound system my Centos 5.5 install is using and how would I configure which soundcard output to use? I want to use the digital coax output from my M-Audio PCI soundcard, which appears to be detected and loaded. When I launch MPD, it autodetects an alsa sound system, but programs like alsamixer don't exist and I can't hear any sound out of the digital coax output. I haven't checked the 3.5mm stereo out yet.A little confused as to which documentation to be looking at at this point.

I've been using CentOS for a while now, mostly as a web server. Actually I use it as the base and installed Parallels Plesk Control Panel.
Anyway I want to setup a VPN and so far I haven't found any real solid documentation on how to do that! Yes I could install DAG/RPM Forge but what I really want to know how to do it from scratch. What I mean by scratch is that I want to download the tar.gz package from openvpn.net and then build it as required. I don't know much about building or compiling a package so that is why I have come here for help! I am guessing that I need to compile openVPN with openSSL and probably a few other packages... I could use openSWAN but I don't want to.

I've d/l'd the source and tried to ./configure it but it fails, needing a current sigc++ library. So I d/l'd libsigc++-2.2.8 and configured and installed it and I see a /usr/local/lib/sigc++-2.0 folder now. So now when I go back and ./configure kfsmd, how do I tell it to look to /usr/local/lib/sigc++-2.0 for the library it needs?

I'm trying to install bitcoin onto my computer, and the Linux version only comes in tar.gz, and I can extract it just fine, however when I put in ./configure using the command line...it doesn't work...so I checked the README file and it didn't mention doing that...it simply told me to run either /bin/64/bitcoin or to run /bin/32/bitcoin However when I try running first one, /bin/64/bitcoin, it simply says something about there not being a shared library...But when I try to run /bin/32/bitcoin it simply says "Permission Denied" and yes I tried running as root when I first saw that...didn't do any good.
