May 4, 2009
I'm looking to install the w3c-libwww package, but can't seem to find it in yum. Is there a safe repository somewhere I can enable to grab it, or am I going to have to install if from source? CentOS ver. 5.2/3
I been trying to install libawl-php package but doesnt seem avilable either in rpmforge, and other repos.does anyone know where can i download this pacakge or other repo to add which allows to install
I am trying to install the mysql workbench and it is looking for libzib-devel. I can not seem to find it in any yum repo. Does anyone know where I could find it?
I need to install some software which allows me to read chm files. I cannot seem to find the appropriate package in the base repository. How can I install such a reader?
I've just upgraded to openSUSE 11.4 and I have 2 small problems.
1) I can't find fetchmsttffonts package, so I'm missing some fonts I was using
2) Is there a way how to change progress bar colors? I'm getting some poisonous light green and it's not very eye pleasing (I think that when I was doing same upgrade in virtual machine there where dark green similar to 11.3)
Getting the error: Code: Select allThe required package keybinder was not found on your system. *** Please install keybinder (atleast version 0.2.2) or adjust *** the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you *** installed the package in a nonstandard prefix so that *** pkg-config is able to find it.
I have installed everything available in the jessie repo with "keybinder" in the name. It seems like my path variable is configured correctly:
i just got debian lenny installed on my machine, i cant get flash to work with iceweasell so i thought id try and install firefox but i cant seem to find it anywhere in the debian package manager, ive tried usign the following guides;[URL]i still havent been able to achive my goal
I would like to install Password Gorilla but I cannot find it in the package manager, is it available in F12? It may be that I need to install another repository but I do not know which one, as far as I'm aware I have all of the 'standard' ones.
No matter how I try, or how many sources I go to, every instance of open office gives me an error message saying that the JRE (Java) file is corrupt. I cannot find an instance of Open Office I can download regardless of the version. I have no Open Office now. How can I find a version that will give me the entire package AND install? I've had a lot of trouble getting any version to install...but that may be due to the corruption of the JRE file
I've try to install vlc via Yum command..... but said that there isn't package. What can I do for install vlc (and this is the same thing for Firefox .....)
Here the result: [root@localhost Bruno]# yum install vlc Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * addons: it.centos.contactlab.it * base: it.centos.contactlab.it * extras: ftp.plusline.de * updates: centos.de-mirror-server.de Setting up Install Process No package vlc available. Nothing to do
I've also tru to update Yum ..... same answer ...... [root@localhost Bruno]# yum update Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * addons: it.centos.contactlab.it * base: it.centos.contactlab.it * extras: ftp.plusline.de * updates: centos.de-mirror-server.de Setting up Update Process No Packages marked for Update
System os: CentOS 5.2 32 bitI installed squid and it is proxy server.Later, i install sarg to monitor web log of client...But when i install from rpm package, it show errorQuote: #rpm -ivh sarg-2.2.3-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm error: sarg-2.2.3-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm:pmReadSignature failed: region trailer: BAD, tag 15872 type 2047 offset 28672 count 4238 error: sarg-2.2.3-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm cannot be installed
I just installed 32-bit CentOS 5.5 in a Vmware virtual machine. I'm unable to install RPMs from either the graphical U/I (Pirut) or CLI (Yum). Pirut stops responding (no screen repainting) after displaying the "Updating software" dialog; Yum gets to the display of "Running Transaction" where it hangs. The initial installation (from the net-install ISO) obviously succeeded, and the after-install update of about 50 packages also worked fine.
yum.log contains nothing past the entries made during the initial install. Because I had a problem with corrupted files from a mirror during installation I tried using the baseurl setting in CentOS-Base.repo instead of mirrorlist, but that had no effect.
Every time I selected addons and Mysql i got a notice of a bug report. So i gave in and only selected server and it is installing. I hope i can read enough to get it installed..
In order to not post into the wrong forum, I am wondering if an issue related to performing a PXE based NFS install can be posted here, or does it belong in the networking forum? Seems that I've seen both, and I've done several searches using parameters/error messages that I'm seeing and can't seem to find a post that relates.
I have results of "./getinfo.sh network", and other necessary config file info ready to post, but want to make certain on correct forum.
when i was about to install turbo c using dosbox in ubuntu on the console i typed the commandas sudo apt-get install dosbox the error occured as E:couldnt find the package dosbox
My hardware is Tyan 1834 (VIA Chipset) dual P-III and 512 MB Adaptec AHA-2940AU SCSI card with 3 Seagate drives ATI Rage 128 AGP Video card
Tried to install CentOS 5 but did not locate any hard drives (No drives listed at Partition Step)
Was able to install CentOS 4.4 and it located ATI card, and installed successfully and runs.
However, trying to upgrade to CentOS, also fails and does not find any hard drives (same error) (also say "no video found, assuming headless" - but output still shown to screen - using 'linux text' install)
http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/_common/linux/ - lists Linux "supported distributions" including CentOS 4.0/4.2/4.3 - but no mention of CentOS 5 (or could that page be too old?)
Want to use as test platform for custom software development, but it must match existing production machine CentOS 5 platform... (Cent OS 4 could introduce a significant difference)
