I am new with CentOS. I've installed CentOS 5.4 and now trying to create a directory with Korean name but it displays incorrectly.Please help give me some instructions to solve this problem.I could not find out the solution by searching document from internet.

I have a Radeon HD 4850 there is a way to fix this without reinstalling the OS. I get a number of strings passed to a proc in the format 3|x where x is a number, either 0 or within the range 5-12. My understanding is that that regexp will match the literal '3' followed by a '|', the escapes the special meaning of |, and then 0 or, because of |, a number within the range 5-12. I have a centos 5.4 64-bit machine. I installed the directory server following those steps.
I then added some users using the Centos Management Consolecentos-idm-console -a http://localhost:3890 &
I had issues on my last install , I couldn't boot into it cause I accidentally uninstalled python 2.6 and everything it was attached to. So I reinstalled on a separate hard drive, I can see my other file system from the media folder but the only thing in my home dir is these 2 files 1 read me that says

Well, I am facing problem when doing lab questions.
I must use DLXLinux bundled in Bochs (bochs.sourceforge.net).
I am required to use the /usr/local directory.
In /usr directory, there is no directory named 'local' but there is one thing called 'local@'. So, when I try to use mkdir command to create 'local' directory in /usr , there are error "cannot make directory.....".

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a pdf file (nasm documentation) that used to be displayed perfectly with xpdf, but now all code example lines remain blank. On the terminal I get repeated lines such as:

I tried to figure out the problem... the same problem occurs with both evince and okular. However it does not occur when opening the same file under root (tested with xpdf), so it seems to be some permission problem. I tried searching on the error message but couldn't find a working solution.
I have centos 5, and apache. I've recently had to make a website in Polish, which has some characters that do not seem to be supported on Centos. Is there a way to install more character sets?

Basically, what happens is that Danish special characters, as well as other non-ASCII characters, come out garbled when processed on the system. If I try using nano, the characters come out as Relatedly, if I import UTF-8 encoded files from other sources, they also appear broken when edited locally. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to a VPS for the purpose of web hosting a group of sites related to my business.The reason for the upgrade was because we wish to run a shopping cart software which required greater memory for PHP and the VPS was the most economic solution. So, I have very basic linux knowledge but I am the definition of a newbie when it comes to going further than just scratching the surface of server configuration! I have successfully hosted our main site for a number of weeks but recently the postfix service stopped sending mail. I have Plesk Control Panel installed and postfix continually shows as not started even though in SSH the service status is definitely running - I have gone through the troubleshooting checklist here (http://www.postfix-book.com/debugging.html#d0e6) but can't get any further than section 2.1 as when running the host command (#host relay-test.mail-abuse.org), I get # -bash: host:command not found. I've gone further in the document but not found any issues...
When postfix was working properly (i.e. sending emails!), the plesk CP showed the service as started and all emails from the website were sending as normal. The mailq command is showing the messages stuck in the mailq and the maillog shows the following:- http://pastebin.centos.org/36446 - these are the latest few pages.To check the configuration and basic elements I have flushed the mailq (which shows a stack of messages waiting) and I have also spent a long time (2 weeks) reading up on the parameters that should be in main.cf and master.cf.I have found that when I 'telnet localhost 25' I get the following response...[root@s15397216]# telnet localhost 25Trying 127.0.0.1...Connected to localhost.Escape character is '^]'.

I have just finished an install of Cent 5.5. I loaded up a trunk for a software application I want to compile on cent, but I cannot read the .cpp files. The issue seems to be with the file extension. If I change the extension to .txt, they open just fine. My .FOR, .FPP, and .DAT files display fine, but the .cpp and .h give me an error, "Couldn't display...". What is the problem here that won't let me open these files in gedit?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI was messing around with the alternate character panel app and made a custom character set. I then wanted to put it on a new panel and created a new panel. I moved the character set to that panel, and then started to mess around with the panel settings (auto hide, show hide buttons, and expand, to be specific.) So far so good, until I moved the panel from the right side of the screen to the top. I already had a panel here, and it seemed not to like hiding a panel when there was already one on the top.
When the new panel hid itself, all my panels stopped responding (any clicks on them did nothing) and my processor started going at 100%. I tried a reboot and the only thing that changed is that now I can't even see my panels. I'm guessing I need to change the settings back manually through the prompt, but I don't know how to do that. I am using 10.04 and have not upgraded gnome since upgrading to 10.04.
How do u add languages in 10.04? I went to System -> Pref -> Keyboard and added Korean and nothing happened for me found a few instructions but were way too dated

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to use Korean but have an English keyboard, an English environment, and need to input via this method. It appears that there is currently no way to use ibus and have the functionality of the "hangul-romaja" tables that SCIM had. For example, it used to be, using Hangul-romaja, that I could type the letters "g" and "a" to get the Korean "ê°€" (ga).
Now, the moment I type "g" it automatically writes. Typing "g" and "a" produces: Am I just doing something wrong? Using Anthy in Japanese works just fine...typing "g" and "a" produces a "ãŒ" just like it's supposed to. Anyone out there know what to do to get Hangul-romaja (or something similar!) working in ibus? Am I stuck having to just guess at the Korean keyboard layout or memorize it somewhere? Might there already be an ibus-compatible solution for this?
I was able to find a multitude of different keyboard fonts through preferences>keyboard>korean. However, the Korean keyboard is English only, and there's no Korean font. I would like to have access to the Korean font.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter I've upgraded to 10.04, the Korean text has become unreadable or very hard to read, on both KDE/Qt and Gnome/GTK apps. The text appears thiner and some characters/symbols are not fully rendered.
Has anyone encountered the same issue?
Update: In Dolphin and Nautilus the text is not rendered clearly, in Konsole is displayed just fine.
