View 1 RepliesI have recently installed Faenza icon theme and just began to notice the inconsistency of icon emblems being displayed by compiz.Attached image shows the emblems of Chromium, Nautilus and Comix are that of the default icons, while Empathy andCompizConfigSettingsManager displayed the custom icon correctly. The dock displays all apps' icons correctly though. The issue does not occur exclusively to Application Switcher (Alt+Tab), it also occurs with Scale (Super+W), Shift Switcher (Super+Tab).

I tried logging out and back in but it still won't show as a choice (but it's still "installed" somewhere).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just created an 11.3 64 bit image using susestudio. All seems well but would like to customize the desktop via my script that I have added. My question is how do I remove the home directory and the trash icon from the desktop? Or better said what is the path to removing the symbolic link, I cannot find the symbolic links in the desktop directory. It is empty, I do not see any symbolic links under /home/test/Desktop?

I like all the icons except for a few, specifically the trash, and would like to change them but I can't figure out how. I d/l an empty and full trash icon. I looked in the /home/username/.icons/themename folder and found the two trash icons that came with the theme (they were in ~/.icons/themename/scalable/places). Changed the names of the ones I d/l and replaced those current ones with them.how to do this? I would also like to change the Menu Bar icon back to the gnome foot.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Maverick, and now I can't change my theme except for the cursor and window border/decoration.I've just reinstalled the themes I want to use (Dust + Dust extra) successfully, and while the window border/decorations change properly when I select them, nothing else changes. The icon set doesn't change;gnome-panel doesn't change. I'm stuck on the fugly fallback theme - the one you see when you do gksudo gedit or something.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the elementary gtk theme, but I wanted to have my gnome-panel have a set custom background, so I went into the 'gtkrc' and commented out "#include "Apps/panel.rc"". This worked perfectly but, the right click menus and drop down menus changed color which conflict with the icons that I am using.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using Natty in Classic Gnome mode with a custom icon set, Awoken. It is doing fine, but an upgrade was released a few days ago and the installation fails:

Unpacking replacement awoken-icon-theme ...

There is a page for awoken-icon-theme package on Launchpad, but I cannot find a way to submit a bug on it. If I try "ubuntu-bug awoken-icon-theme", it is rejected because it is not an Ubuntu package. I understand that. Should I try to contact the developer directly?
How can I resolve this error and get the upgrade installed?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using Maverick. I created a desktop icon for the trash and placed it on desktop. Then removed the one from the taskbar.
Now I'm running Natty Beta and the trashcan icon is still there. It is also in the Unity task bar.
I want to get rid of the one I created, but can't figure out how. I can't drag to trash, right click only gives properties.
The menu item from desktop "Customize toolbar" doesn't work. Looked at gconf-editor no luck.
Does anyone know what icon theme is used for the dock in this screenshot? I've searched gnome-look but cant seem to find it.

I am using Ubuntu 10.10 and having trouble setting a custom icon for an application launcher that I created. I have created and SVG file and placed it in /usr/shared/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/ and when I try to select it as the icon for the application launcher, it just goes back to the gnome-panel-launcher.svg default. If I put the SVG file on my desktop and then select it, all is well. I'm assuming this is some type of permission problem, but I cannot seem to figure it out. I have set the permissions to be identical to the other icons in /usr/shared/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/, but have no luck doing that either.
