I have moonlight installed through the regular repository and know it works as a plugin in Firefox, but I prefer using Epiphany. How can I get Moonlight to work in Epiphany? Using the regular Webkit version of Epiphany on Lucid Beta.

The alternative Moonlight does not work, well..., it probably will if I accept to install a Mircosoft Media Pack (!), and to do so, I have to accept a Microsoft EULA..[URL]..Excepting something from Microsoft... I am not in favour of doing that on my lovely Ubuntu-machine..

View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed the Moonlight 2.0 Firefox plugin via the .xpi installer. I'm trying to get the Moonlight codec pack installed, but it just isn't working. I agree to the EULA and it seems to download the pack, but every time it says that it cannot verify the downloaded binary. Sometimes it causes Firefox to crash upon download completion. I've tried searching on Google, but I've had no luck.

When I try to view one it starts and then just turns white. Then Firefox crashes. I have no clue what is going on with it.
Oddly I have no problem viewing the Silverlight content on this page:

Or many other Silverlight pages. I've seen this happen not only on the above page but other Silverlight content.
So anyone experience the same thing? I'm guessing there is some code on the web page that triggers a bug or something.
if you are familiar with the UFC you know that they show live fights before their PPV's for free on Facebook. well so far the latest version of Moonlight still cant load the player, it gets to 99% then fails. the only possible solution i can assume is causing it, could be that i dont have the Microsoft Media Pack installed for Moonlight. how ever everytime i try to install it, the browser crashes as soon as the install bar reaches 99% does anyone know a different way i could install this pack, or do you know what could be causing this issue an help me fix it?

I'm trying to watch some of my college's sports online, and they are set-up to use silver-light, but for me it is epic fail. Seems like others are having similar problems, but that is why this is a FAQ, or a FOP, frequently occurring problem. And if I don't post it again, its not treated as a frequent occurring problem. The college page suggests that I use moonlight to watch, but the iced/tea program it recommended broke other programs operation.

I tried plying around with Preferences/Appearances but everything seems to be ok there. Also, if in FireFox I choose 'Use System colours' everything looks ghastly.
When I open up epiphany, it prompts me to either recover or don't recover my session.
No matter what the decision, it outputs a segmentation fault. I can load it with a -p switch, as well as loading it as sudo (just to test) so I'm kind of thinking if i can re set the session to default, then I will be able to get around it?
I haven't been able to test this though because I cant find where the config files for epiphany are! It doesn't output anything useful other than segmentation fault. As for openshot, I JUST installed it, and it installed with no errors, but when I try and run it, this is the output

I have been trying out several newcomer browsers (using webkit) as alternatives to Firefox, which seems increasingly slow to me.Midori and Arora both allow the back button of my mouse to work, as does Firefox.However, Epiphany, which would be my first choice, does not, and I can't find any way whatsoever of configuring it to do so.I can't see why such a 'flagship' app should lack such an essential feature.

There is some attached example - most pages with some code blocks look like it, it is not possible to see the text, even after selecting it. I tried to change settings in FF of fonts, tried to change size, colors, font, but still it is not visible at all no matter what. However pages like that are displayed fine in "Chromium". Does anyone have an idea where do I begin solving this?

I have this problem with some pages here on LQ. They just scroll way out to the right (see attached screenshot, notice the horizontal scrollbar). I have no problem browsing them with empathy epiphany, so I guess it must some setting that I am missing. Also, symbols like smilies appear very pixelated.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm using Linux Mint 8. However, internet browser speed is very slow as compared to using the same computer with Windows. In Linux, I've used Firefox 3.5 and Epiphany 2.28. Epiphany runs somewhat faster than Firefox so I mainly use it for the internet.
What I would like to know is if Epiphany browser 2.30 is noticably faster than 2.28? Should I go thru the trouble of upgrading to Mint 9 inorder to be able to use Epiphany 2.3 - as well as Chromium 8?
Most Webkit browsers by default use full page zoom, or if they use text only zoom by default, full page zoom is an available menu option. Epiphany, has text only zoom, but I can't find any option for full page zoom. How do I get full page zoom in Epiphany?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI can't find a solution for not seeing any texts on html5 web pages. I haven't found any other report about such an odd behaviour on the web so far. Even on the new W3C web page (see the screenshot below for details) I can't see any texts. They are just invisible. I can mark and copy them, but there is nothing to see on Iceweasel 3.0.6 and Epiphany 2.22.3.
Because both browsers behave the same way I guess it's not a browser issue, but something more basic. My Debian Lenny stable should be unblemished because I've never used anything else than the main sources. I can't believe, that the W3C has switched to a new standard without propper fallback-support for older browser versions...
just installed debian 5.0.4 on an imac g3 500mhz allinone and when i went to videos to test the video quality the video seems to open over and over, audio starts and then restarts and copies of the video pop up continuously. the only way to kill the video is to shut down the computer. this happens in epiphany and also in iceweasel, is this a flash issue? any one seen anything like this before? it acts like there is a loop in the software that causes it to keep opening the same thing over and over.

Ofcourse my intention was to uninstall epiphany and _not_ gnome, so is there a way to take epiphany off of my system with out affecting gnome?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo the more I use GNOME the more I fall in love with it. Including the default GNOME web browser, epiphany. Its clean and fast and that's the most important thing to me.
There are at least two things I'd like to customize that I can't seem to figure out.
The first is I'd like to see if there is a way to make epiphany spell check text boxes automatically, preferably like the default in many modern applications that it does as you type and underlines things that are mispeilled, but I'd deal with some sort of "right click to spell check" or something like that.
Secondly, I'd like to tell Epiphany that when a hyperlinks directs to OPEN IN NEW WINDOW that it opens in new tab instead.
