May 9, 2010I am having a problem getting my facebook account to add to gwibber. I have searched the forum for the last couple of days and found several others with an identical problem but to date no solution is offered other than keep trying.I have run gwibber in terminal and attempted to add the account. Below is the output. For information I am trying to add an existing account not create a new account.

Apr 30, 2010Lucid is adamn good release and in my opinion, one of the best till date. If I have to rate Lucid on its OOB Factor (Out Of Box), I would rate it 9.7/10.I have an AMD based laptop with ATI graphics chipset and this used to be a major headache (ATI's fault ofcourse) previously and I was gearing up for another hour or so of installing the video drivers from ATI and getting it to work.But,suprisingly it just worked out of the box with visual effects enabled. Every component on my machine worked as it ought to be.
I cant say enough about the interface overhaul. Its like a F16 got upgraded with some slick Alien technology. Ubuntu 10.04 is surely a GOLD standard for all Linux Distros out there. Coming to this minor issue, I am unable to add the facebook account in Me Menu via gwibber. It takes the login credentials and prompts me to allow or deny publishing to facebook. Clicking on allow doesn't do anything, it just sits there.

Jun 14, 2010I have a problem with gwibber. It has emerged randomly for no apparent reason as I have not changed any settings. All of a sudden, when updating my status on Facebook, and I click send, gwibber appears to work for a while, and then just nothing happens. My status does not get updated. It works fine with Twitter. It's only facebook. I have checked my application settings in Facebook and gwibber has full permission to post.#
I tried setting up the account again in gwibber, but this just opened a can of worms, because I had to reinstall gwibber and delete all of the config files in order to reinstate my facebook account, (see URL...)due to a bug in gwibber, which was a pain.

Apr 30, 2010When either of the proprietary Nvidia drivers are enabled, viewing the desktop using a remote client (Windows TightVNC) does not work. The initial remote screen display is ok, but no updates to the remote display occur. Reverting back to the non-proprietary driver solves the problem. I have also tried using a 10.04 Live CD and used Remote Desktop Viewer on the client machine, and it behaves the same way.

Apr 22, 2010I'm having a issue with gwibber: the window doesn't open, but I can tell it's working because I can tweet via Me menu. Also, the "microblogging" arrow/checkbox is active in the messaging-menu.
The window opens without problems in my dad's session, so I guess that if I delete some config file in my /home it will get fixed. where are the gwibber config files? I couldn't find them =/

Fedora :: Gwibber Alternative / Installing Gwibber From The Last Stable Sources Gives The Same Crash?
Jul 23, 2011I used to use Gwibber as social networks aggregator/client, but starting since last update (current version 3.1.0) it crashes miserably on both Fedora 14 and Fedora 15.
Gwibber team looks reluctant to provide any feedback on whether this shall be fixed in foreseeable future. Installing Gwibber from the last stable sources gives the same crash.

Mar 16, 2011After a fresh installation of Ubuntu 10.10 I uninstalled empathy (im using skype). The empathy menu in the evolution indicator was gone after that.I also uninstalled gwibber. But the gwibber status indicator remains within the about-me panel... Uninstalling the gwibber package also removes the me-menu which I want to keep actually. Especially the shutdown/restart... part of it. See attachment.I know there is a shutdown panel-app...but its butt-ugly and it doesnt allow to logon/off.
In another thread I read that the gwibber status shouldnt be there if no account for it is configured... which it is not... I do use ubuntu-one though which is in the same menu... I saw that this issue was addressed at some bug report before, but not fixed yet...
Does anybody know a good workaround to get rid of the gwibber status in the panel while keeping the about me and the shutdown button?

I have tried the lient both inside and outside my local subnet, with no difference in events or outcomes.

Jul 29, 2010I'm having trouble getting compiz to work on my Laptop. It worked for a while and then I turned on Shift Switcher and a message popped up saying..."The new value for the button binding for the action Terminate in plugin Shift Switcher conflicts with the action Zoom Window of the Scale Addons plugin. Do you wish to disable Zoom Window in the Scale Addons plugin?" I was given the option of Set Terminate anyway, Don't set Terminate, and Disable Zoom Window. I clicked Don't set Terminate and ever since the only thing that works in compiz are the bindings in the general options. I've used synaptic to completely remove and then reinstall compiz but the problem persist. Something else weird, all of the changes I made are still there, even after complete removal, but they don't work?

Feb 16, 2011I just recently (about an hour ago) installed Ubuntu Netbook edition on my old laptop, and I was greeted with the message, that unity could not be run due to some sort of missing driver...fair enough, I was then greeted with the default Ubuntu desktop, I installed all my needed software (wine, google chrome) and installed the missing display drivers. I then rebooted the system, and once again I am stuck with the default desktop, and not the Unity interface. I checked the software center, and it says Unity IS in fact installed.. And yet I cannot make it appear. So now I ask you Ubuntu veterans. How do I make it work?
P.S. I wiped the system of windows, and the computer is an old HP Pavilion DV6000

When I try to get the client going, it just connects to my account, checks for updates, verifyies data, and then starts over. It will keep doing that until I end the program, and never opens so I have access to my games.

Feb 6, 2011how to get USB disks/sticks to mount on the clients. Is there something with some configfile that needs to be enabled or in the setup of the default image?
Cannot even move files from the USB drive via the servers USB as it is virtual one on a ESXi host.
the school starts on monday (8 hours) and there is about 10GB files that need to put in place before that.
PS. OpenSuse 11.3 all patched with minimum XFCE desktop on the server. easy-ltsp install via 1-click install on the opensuse/kiwi-ltsp page. Server + 20 clients Everything else functions properly but no CD or USB on clients
