View 4 Replies View Relatedif you are familiar with the UFC you know that they show live fights before their PPV's for free on Facebook. well so far the latest version of Moonlight still cant load the player, it gets to 99% then fails. the only possible solution i can assume is causing it, could be that i dont have the Microsoft Media Pack installed for Moonlight. how ever everytime i try to install it, the browser crashes as soon as the install bar reaches 99% does anyone know a different way i could install this pack, or do you know what could be causing this issue an help me fix it?
im using

View 9 Replies View RelatedBeen looking around and have been trying for 4 days to get my 3 monitors to work with my 2 video cards , When the system starts up I get the bootup screens on the 3rd monitor , then the login box shows up on the 1st monitor and when logging out I see the shutdown screen on the 3rd monitor again , so I know ubuntu see's it , but not sure how to include it in the regular desktop . It's just a lighted very dark red and I can't move my mouse or any windows over to it , here is my xorg.conf that I modified and tried to get it to work with :

I'm using ubuntu 11.04 with Unity 2d as my hardware is too old to run the original one. I was previously using Lubuntu but after a slight RAM upgrade decided to use Ubuntu. Now I can't watch full screen video's online which is not the problem as it's always been like this with every distro I've used but now I can't even watch full screen videos in VLC, totem or any other media player for that matter, it'll either lag or completely freeze my system and this worked in Lubuntu fine

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I installed Lucid on my G4 Cube and now am trying to figure out how to make the video work properly.Right now it is in low graphics mode, which is not pleasing whatsoever.I have the 17" Studio Display (LCD, rev b) connected to it and it has the ATI Rage 128 Pro graphics card.I went into the xorg.conf file and there was nothing there. I tried the suggestions for the 15" display but that results in the x server crashing, so i undid that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying for a while now to capture videos with my webcam of my samsung n110 netbook, I am running ubuntu 10.4 and cheese 2.30.1. I can take pictures fine, with effects and everything but when I press "start recording" the webcam seems to turn off or all I see is a black image, then when I press stop recording the camera picture comes back on and then the program freezes. I've tried turning down the resolution, I've tried all the possibilities in gstreamer-properties but nothing helped so far running from terminal didn't give me a clue on what the problem might be either. I would like cheese to work to have photo and video in one program but if someone has a good program to capture video I am willing to try it out.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend is using Karmic and we're trying to get video and audio to work in aMSN.
We confirmed farsight is installed:
Code:
libgstfarsight0.10-0:
Installed: 0.0.15-1ubuntu1
Candidate: 0.0.15-1ubuntu1
Version table:
[Code].....
That returned nothing. So, valve is not in the plugins that we have. Apparently, it is not in the farsight that we have either, if I've interpreted posts right.
And my issue is that I've never built from source or package or anything. sudo apt-get install and adding to the sources.list file is the experience I have. So, if I need to do source building, I'll need guidance.
i've been trying and trying to get my video card set up in ubuntu 10.04 or 10.10 (it is an ati mobility radeon 7500), I first posted about it here [URL].. and since then nothing has changed. What I would really like to know is why does it work in kernel 2.6.31 but not in anything later. Right now im running arch on my secondary hard drive with kernel 2.6.31 and everything runs great, full open gl, 3d accel etc but when I upgrade to a newer kernel (no matter what distro) my video does not work. Has there been any improvements on this? It was a problem with KMS i kind of found it by accident, its all working now
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat kind of video card(s) should work with Ubuntu?I have a Power Mac G4 (AGP Graphics) with it's original card (ATY,Rage128Pro), which apparently doesn't work well with Ubuntu. View 9 Replies View RelatedWith out going into 2 much detail at this point this is my issue.
I have installed unbuntu 11.04. I have 3 screens. 2 are attached to a ATi adapter and 1 screen is a sandy bridge video adapter.
I have already used the forums a lot to reach this point.
When i change my bios to set the primary adapter to sandy bridge, I can only get 1 screen to work.
When I set my bios to point to the Ati adapter as primary, then only the 2 screens connected to that adapter work.
How do I get both video adapters and all 3 screens to work?
I have run out of ideas on what my next step should be.
Ati adapter is a Radeon HD 4800 Series. The Sandy bridge one HD Graphics Family
I am a Ubuntu and LINUX newbie. Install goes easy but I can not get 3D accelerated graphics to work. So I am stuck with poor and slow graphics. I tried and tried with the ATI card and went back to make onboard the primary. Neither seems to allow for visual effects upgrade nor 3d graphics in games.
Here is lspci:
I have a clean install and just downloaded and installed skype. Mic is not working. I didn't check video yet. I see audacious but nothing about a microphone. What do I need? Debian lxde on eeepc 701. The video and audio works on the web/iceweasel.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to get my Hauppauge USB Live 2 video grabber to work under Ubuntu 10.04. I have installed the drivers, and using TVTime I get a perfect picture - but no sound, and also I can't record with it. I have found a guide on how to get it with sound using MythTV, but it seems I fail at setting it up. It tells me it couldn't find the backend server, but it's running in my terminal.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to install Fedora 12, but like F10 and F11 I can't run the lived CD. No video. I have a Biostar board w/ Nvidia GeForce 7100.
I have tried to add nomodeset and vga=vesa to the end of the boot command and neither of them could get the video to work.
Does anyone know another command that can get the live CD to work?
I have run Arch, Mandriva, Debian, & Ubuntu on this PC and they all can read the video. Why would it be a problem for Fedora?
due to its philosophy, there is no mp3/dvd support shipped with Fedora.Anyhow, we're working here just for the very basic support. Some now may say "Oh thats bad, having to do that my self..".I say: "Using such a great OS, is worth that 10mins work to get sound and video."
View 5 Replies View RelatedRecently I got an hp pavilion g4-1016tx laptop, I installed Fedora 15on it, I chose the "install with basic video driver" option, first it workedwell, but yesterday I could only log in with text mode. There are two videocards on my laptop: AMD Radeon HD 6470M Intel GMA HDI tried to install the ATI driver on my laptop, and I still failed to makeit work properly. My error messages are as follows:
# aticonfig --initial
aticonfig: No supported adapters detected
# fglrxinfo
[code]....
I installed fedora 12.
I have 2 ATI cards that I used to use on windows to run 4 monitors. A recurring problem has been to get them detected in linux. Only my secondary card is picked up linux. When I manage the displays it detects the 2 monitors connected that card.
What are the specific steps I should take to get the second card detected? Supposedly there is a tool system-config-xfree. I don't have it, yum can't find it.
Also I heard it has something to do with editing some xorg.conf file or something to that effect. I have absolutely no idea how to find the "bus id" of my card, or lookup the horizontal refresh rates, etc..
I would probably have no problem following the documentation & editing the file if I knew a good way to find these values.
Someone also suggested installing linux twice and saving the xorg.conf it generates each time (with different card each time) and then merging the two by hand. That is like killing a fly with a hammer though, when I do this again and again in the future It'd be nice to not have to take twice as long.
Does anyone know of a USB video adapter that will work with a Linux based NAS?
