I'm seeking workarounds for this problem:When you mouse scroll in website with java content (happens often for with these: [URL], then X crashes and everything goes back to gdm screen. It happens mostly when I'm down in the page and mouse scroll up back into the direction of the java content. I'm running Karmic + FF 3.5.7 + Java Plug-in 1.6.0_15 + NoScript 1.9.9.45.

Firefox is crashing whenever I go to a page with a java applet such as this one [URL]... I get the following output in the command line:

I try to install the java plugin but the java test pages show not installed. I have tried the openjdk-6-jdk package and the Oracle/Sun 1.6.0_26 version to no avail.
Is there some good instructions page someplace? I have yet to find a set of instructions that provides something clear that works.
Running Squeeze, with kernel 2.6.32-5-amd64. I do not find out how to enable 3d acceleration with my Intel 945 embedded graphics card. Also having very (i mean VERY) slow scrolling in some webpages (such as apple website, or danielestulin.com website). I tested the following "Hardware Acceleration Stress Test" with Epiphany, Iceweasel and Firefox, and the best rate I get is only 3 fps...[URL].. I tested the Chess game included with default Squeeze install, running in 3d mode, and definetely there is no acceleration at all...

Sometimes when I scroll down certain pages using chromium it crashes then the screen turns black and i am presented with the log in screen. I think this is X crashing

I just finished installing 10.04. When I use the mouse wheel to scroll up, Firefox loads previous pages in my history. I had the same problem in 9.10. I've searched through the net looking for solutions. Most solutions talk about adjusting mousewheel.withnokey options. However, everything I try doesn't stop it from loading previous pages when using the mouse wheel to scroll up. My current settings are as follows:
mousewheel.withnokey.action = 0
mousewheel.withnokey.numlines = 6
mousewheel.withnokey.sysnumlines = true
Using the mouse wheel to scroll down works fine. It's only when scrolling up. Has anyone else experienced this problem. I'm using a Microsoft Optical Intellimouse

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 4-way logitech side scrolling mouse and had it set up that (button7) which was left would rotate my desktop cube left, and the same with (button6) which was right. Now with my new motherboard I need to plug in USB, and left and right side scroll is captured as the same as left and right on the directional pad. How can I re-assign my mouse as button 6 & 7?
Does anyone know why scroll left and right are set as keyboard left and right? Does anyone know how to fix it, or reassign the buttons?
I dont know why this is happening to me. Maybe it's because I have so many things running, but its mainly just browsers and stuff that hardly require cpu usage. Sometimes (and its getting worse now) when i try to highlight the text on a web page, it wont work, the mouse pointer will be the arrow instead of the "I" like symbol which signifies the possibility for text highlighting. Then after a little while it will become the "I" symbol so I can highlight the text. It will switch on and off like that and make it really hard for me to do things.
Also, sometimes I cannot scroll down, it wont work when i hold the side bar thing and scroll it down, but after a few seconds it may work. This happens on my browser as well as amarok so far. I hope someone has experienced something like this because its getting frustrating.
UPDATE: Happens on KMess too. I cant type in the convo box sometimes. So I have to minimize and maximize it in order for it to work. Also if I have a browser up in the background while a Kmess convo box is infront, I cant click to the browser when its right there, even though I can click on it in the taskbar, if you know what i mean.
I have a Logitech M325 mouse. It is no longer scrolling on anything. Pointing and clicking is fine.

Recently my mouse fell on the ground and now whenever I move it, it scrolls to left or right insanely! (the problem is with the mouse, it scrolls to left/right all the time)I'm wondering how can I disable horizontal scrolling only for my mouse and not my touchpad.It's really annoying wherever there's a horizotal scrollbar or horizontal scrolling can be used on it!
View 1 Replies View RelatedSuddenly, today my mouse seems to have a mind of it's own. For no reason, it's suddenly jumping and scrolling all over the desktop in rapid fashion and apparently left-clicking at will. Reboot does not solve the problem, although it became less after the reboot.

Okay, dug through the drawers and found a Logitech usb optical mouse. Giving that a try as it seems to me that the mouse may be shot.
I use an MS mouse/keyboard combo model 6000 (ver. 2) and for the most part they work great, that is except for a problem with the mouse wheel scrolling through the desktops if the cursor is on a desktop.If the cursor is in/on a window it scrolls through the window as normal.t also scrolls through the desktops if I "side click" the mouse wheel as well. I've run sax2 and the mouse moduledoesn't even appear but my Wacom tablet settings do. Very perplexing to say the least.

I'd like to find out how to set the ability to change to the next track in a playlist by using ongly the scroll wheel of a standard usb mouse. The objective is to assign a keystroke or a command to both mouse button 4 and mouse button 5 (scroll wheel up and scroll wheel down), so that a program like rythmbox or vlc would skip to the next or previus song in the playlist.

I don't know if that's significant, or not. there seems to be some lines in /var/log/Xorg.0.log about my logitech mouse.way too complicated to write by hand.I will log out and back on... sometimes that frees up other windows. Then I'll add the Xorg.0.log.

I've just recently put Ubuntu on my 2010 Macbook Pro 13 inch, and all seems to be running more or less alright.One thing i miss from OS X is the ability to reverse the scrolling direction, also inertial scrolling.Is there any way to implement this in Ubuntu?Also, i have already installed the Mactel trackpad drivers.

What happens is that while using Firefox to browse certain sites that use java Fedora suddenly crashes and the computer reboots. I previously used openjdk, now recently i've installed Sun java (as shown here [URL] - both on F13 i386 & x86_64. I even did a clean reinstall of F13 but nothing changed. For example when I go to this site - [URL] after a while (not more than 30 seconds) Fedora crashes and pc reboots. Hell, it has even crashed a few times while browsing this forum. When I disable Firefox java plugin (from add-ons ->plugins) it still crashes after a while. For the particular site I've looked up that several ad-related javascripts are being loaded (also on fedoraforum). I really want to use Fedora but I just can't do it like this. Is there a way to make it usable?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI play two online games. One uses flash (Habbo), the other java (RuneScape). With the flash one, it loads everything up until the part where it loads the interactive elements (hovering navigators, interactive chat rooms etc), then it crashes and tells me to reload. With the java one, everything loads up until the login screen, but when I actually go to log in, it just sits there and tells me it's connecting but doesn't do anything.
I've asked the support team on Habbo for assistance, but I got a reply telling me to clear my temporary files with instructions for windows machines, even though I specified I was on Ubuntu. I did what they instructed me to (which was clearing everything from my DNS cache to my temporary files), with no amazing results. Runescape was pretty much the same. I think it's something to do with my internet... I'm not really an expert at this.
I have a Logitech VX Revolution in Ubuntu 10.04 on an HP EliteBook 8540w.
After I login, the mouse works for about 3-5 minutes, then the lft-click function stops working. I can still move the cursor around the screen.
As-soon-as I unplug the transmitter from the USB port, my touch pad takes over and functions as normal.
I just installed FC13 and am having a problem with Java sites in Firefox. Everything is a fresh installation from the LiveCD (Gnome) and I'm dual booting with XP.
My laptop is an older Presario 2170us / 2G Celeron / 512 Ram / 40 G HDD.
If I go to the preferences of Firefox and disable Java, I don't have the issue but I can't open sites that are Java-intensive, such as AOL.
Once I re-inable Java and open Firefox, as soon as I get to AOL, I am dumped out of the Gnome GUI to the plain text list of startup items, then returned to the FC login screen and then I get back to the desktop.
When I open Firefox again, I get a page about the failure to open AOL... but I don't restore it...instead, I open a new site (such as this Forum), then close Firefox and reopen it.... but when I go to AOL, it happens all over.
As a recent (almost) convert from Ubuntu, I'd like to solve this. I used FC10 on my laptop but had too many SE-Linux issues (I couldn't do much without generating an error), so I went back to Ubuntu. I tried FC11 and FC12 but still had some problems. Now I'm trying FC13 and like what I'm seeing so far...except for what appears to be a Java issue in Firefox.
I am using F13 and new to Linux, whenever I am browsing internet that contains java script, the browser crashes, showing error signal as:

I managed to actually get Xubuntu to install, the previous time!Here is what happened. Installation went smooth. Restart.Log on, start Firefox, close it, wait a few seconds, crash.Restarted, it's now in a higher res. Ok, used an xterm to install LXDE. Reboot.Log into LXDE, play around, crash.Restart, repeat, use Firefox, after a while of browsing, crash.The mouse still responds to movement though....The person this was intended for uninstalled it afterwards. (it was with Wubi) I'd like to fix this.
View 6 Replies View RelatedDid a quick search for these symptoms and couldn't find anything related. After upgrading to 10.04 I found that the computer (HP NC8000) now crashes frequently and at random intervals. It occurs sometimes after only a few minutes, other times after an hour or two. It happens while its in use, or while its idle, wether the screensaver is on or not, even if its locked and the lid closed. When I walk away and come back I find the screen has gone blank (except for the Mouse Pointer and a cursor in the top left) and the Caps Lock Light and Num Lock Light are flashing (signifying a crash)
I caught it while I was using it and watched as the screen suddenly went blank as described above. No errors or explanations or warning. A reboot restores order, but not for long. Some assistance with diagnosing this would be helpful. I suspect it could be ATI radeon 9600 mobility related, as with each passing version of ubuntu it seems to be more unstable

But was happens when I am dealing with mouse dragging? Will my implementation of mouseDragged() get called for every pixel moved? So I just getX() and getY() like with a mouse click?
Also, in order to know when mouse dragging stops and starts, do I also have to put code in mousePressed and mouseReleased?
I have a Cent OS 5.4 32 bit final installed in my dedicated server.
I used to run lighttpd with php in my server until now and all was fine.But yesterday I changed my website which needs apache to run. So installed apache using yum install httpd command.
Then I added the virtual host name of my domain in webmin panel but when i try to run my php script in browser then its not opening php pages.
Instead it downloads php files like index.php when i open in browser.So I guess apache is not able to compile and run php pages. Only html pages are opening right now..
