Mar 20, 2011I wanted to delete files in the trash but I accidentally clicked 'Remove from panel'
Now my Recycle bin is gone, how to get it back?
I tried everything, panel is removed too.

Sep 11, 2010I had several files on my desktop that I wanted to delete so I left clicked at the top corner of one of them and dragged a box around the group to highlight them. Once done I deleted them. I must have included the trash can as that has gone as well. There is no undelete option in the menu so please, how can I get my trash can back.

Jul 22, 2010So I transfered a few folders with videos in them to the public folder on an Ubuntu 10.04 laptop I have from my Ubuntu 10.04 64bit laptop. When I wanted to delete the folder I didn't have permission so I ran "gksudo nautilus" so I could delete it as root. So I deleted the folder but I did not get the space back!
I went to /.local/Shared/Trash and one of the folders I deleted was there but deleting it didn't get that space back either.
I did some searching but most of what I find doesn't help or tells me to look in the folder /.local/Shared/Trash folder but that didn't help any.

Mar 12, 2011When I move something to Trash it doesn't show the option of "Empty Trash". I can use "move to Trash" and it just moving there like some ordinary folder, but shift+del give me an option for deleting the files. Using OpenSUSE 11.3 32bit.

Dec 24, 2010I have a problem with a couple of folders in the Trash. If I click on the Trash icon, 2 foldersare there, and when I try to delete them, it just says "Failed to delete the item from the trash"
But when I go to .local/share/Trash there are no files there! Anyway, I tried using the command "sudo rm -rf .local/share/Trash", it shows no error, but the files continue when I click in the trash icon.

I managed to delete the Volume Applet that appears by default on the task bar. I'm sure it used to be listed in 'Add to Panel' in other version of Ubuntu however I can't see it there in 10.04.

OpenSUSE Install :: Hybernate Doesn't Work - Goes Black - Back To User Icon Screen To Log Back
Sep 1, 2011i have noticed that if vista is not the active partition, hybernate does not work. it just goes black and then back to the user icon screen to log back in. another "slight" problem was that i was not able to apply a service pack. after restoring vistas dominance i was able to install the pack. is there any other work arounds for hybernate? even though you might not be interested in cleaning up after microsoft.

I use a mac at work and use time machine to back up to an external hard drive which i take home each day. I wish to back up the time machine back ups off the external hard drive each day to my computer at home just to be safe is this possible?
I have managed to open the hard drive and have enabled view hidden files so i can see all the files but i am unable to copy them due to permission errors

When I try to open the trash, Ubuntu freezes, window goes black and white, and I end up needing to restart some of the time if not force quit. Is there any way I can open the trash bin? Sep 21, 2010I recently tried to delete some files off of my USB drive and it was being glitchy and really slow so I pulled the drive out and put it back in so it would read normally again. I now have an "untitled folder" in my trash that can't be deleted, and the error says "no such file or directory". Unlike a lot of the other problems I've read with not being able to delete the trash files, I don't think this is a permissions problem.
I probably made a stupid mistake and went into the .Trash-1000 folder for the USB drive itself and tried to delete the files, but each time I did that it just duplicated the original folder and renamed it, and now I can't delete those files either!
