Ubuntu :: Set Java Path For All Users - Including Root

Jan 27, 2010

General :: What Is The Filename - Including Path - Of A WordPress Database

Jun 17, 2011

I have local Wordpress database that got corrupt as a result of an abrupt power outage (I wasn't even editing it!).

Since the system I am dealing with is pretty static (and old), I just want to restore that database file (or collection of files) from a nightly backup.

But I don't know which files I should be restoring. The WordPress blog in question is installed under a local user account in an old Linux server (FC4).

I checked the wp-content directory, but apparently this is not where the content is:

Any idea which file(s) I should be restoring and what their path is?

But for root i couldn't.Without thinking i rebooted the server and except root, other users can log in to the server. I should've tried to enable root account from the /etc/passwd. But now i realize its too late for that.Now i want to change from root: x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/false to root: x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash. Can anyone guide me to accomplish this or is there any other way to fix this?

OpenSUSE Install :: Cannot Log In To Any User Account Including Root After Logging Out In 11.4

Apr 17, 2011

My install of 11.4 has been running perfectly for for several weeks now. But- (always a but) today it started acting up. I cannot log in to any user account including Root after logging out. After a cold boot I can log in again anywhere but after logging out I have to reboot again then I can get back in to any account once. After logging out any attempted log in causes the splash screen to blank for a few seconds and then it comes back with the previous successful user name log in but typing in the password blanks the screen a few seconds again. Clicking on a user account also blanks the screen a few seconds and then it again comes back with the previous log in users name.

Server :: Set PATH For All The Users Permanently On Fedora 8?

Apr 15, 2011

I am failing to set PATH for all the users on a linux box(Fedora 8), permanently. Basically, I have installed two different versions of python(2.5 & 2.7) Python2.5 path is /usr/bin and it is set by default for all users(not by me, also i don't know how ) and it is working fine.

Python2.7 path is /usr/bin/Python27/bin, so tried this:

PATH=$PATH:/usr/bin/Python27/bin

And it worked only for that particular session and for only root, as I set path from root user. So, i need this to be set for all the users on the linux box, including root, more importantly as permanent. So if any user types "python27" at the command prompt, it should give python2.7 prompt.
