View 9 Replies View Relatedtoday I've tried to activate nautilus-converter-image package. due to some package's requirement I've thougth download last release about glib, pango and nautilus... trying install them I've got some errors (here, I've also give an ldconfig command) so at the end I've resigned and decided didn't install nautilus-converter-image. Thinking about replace original package I've reinstall the original. but after reboot when I clik "computer" o "network" icons in nautilus I get an error message like this.(translating) <Nautilus can't handle place "Computer" or "network">
Also I've seen when insert a media usb storage, I can't see in nautilus that device mounted, and also in /media is not present...Ok I know I has been too much superficial... but now It's really annoying problem..

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to set up a webpager that contains a background of the skylouds uperimposedin the center will be an image of an airplane with a transparent background.I want the sky to scroll continuously to the left behind the airplane. I am having problems with the background not being visible, not moving as expected, the airplane not being visible, and just disappointment in general.I think the background of a div will not be visible if there are no internal contents because it will be sized to zero. So I introduced another transparent image to force the size of the main div. Still no joy.Here is my code. Note that I don't have my timers set up yet, just a button to test background movement.

I don't how long is has been happening for (I've just upgraded my old computer, so it is now my faster and better machinig), but Nautilus is failing to create thumbnails for anything other than text files.
I've swapped the settings around to try to trigger changes, but even on "Local only" or "Always" with a 10MB cap then Nautilus won't generate previews for anything other than text files. All images/videos/pdfs/web pages that should have thumbnails generated for them have the "pending" icon but never generate a thumbnail. If, however, I open the file (with Eye of Gnome or Gimp) and refresh the folder then the thumbnail appears for the one file I just opened (so I could go through and preview all images, but I'd really rather not!)
I've tried removing/renaming my .local/share/mime folder in case it was incorrectly handling file types, but that didn't help. I've looked in gconf at the thumbnailer apps, but that appears to be for everything except images. Running "evince-thumbnailer" on its own works fine as well and generates an image. There aren't any related errors in .xsession-errors, and I don't know where else Nautilus logs to (running "nautilus --browser" creates a browser window but then drops back to the command line and doesn't print any output).
I'm using openSUSE 11.2 and the default Gnome, with codecs from Packman. A fairly similar setup on my other machine is thumbnailing perfectly fine.
I am using Okular as a chm reader (I know how to use extract_chmlib and htmldoc.. but with those two I can only make HTML-only documents and not image attachments..)and it just happens so I would like my machine to read the text... i have both festival and espeak installed (as well some gnome-based plug-ins)... But I just can't get Okular to speak.

Doesn't display anything except the page title is there. View page source --- shows <?php phpinfo() ?> not the phpinfo() output. Both files are in /var/www/ with 644 permissions.

I installed apache and when i go to my 127.0.1.1 ip i see the welcome page. I found the directory where the html is located (var/www/index.html but i cannot edit the file. what is going on here? why cant i edit the HTML file?

I'm having a bit of trouble getting my index.html to display. when i use [URL] and type in my dyndns url i just get "index of /" and not the index.html page
ive got a index.html in var/www and home/gav/public_html and set chmod -R 755 to the index.html
and still no joy....

When Google downloads the email messages via POP3 from my squirrelmail server, the message does not display using HTML. I'm not sure if this is Google's fault or Squirrelmail's fault, but I've never had problems before on other servers running the same script and using squirrelmail. If I login to squirrelmail, I have the option to download the email message as an attachment. The attachment, if opened by my local browser, shows up as HTML content, and it is properly formatted. However, I'm using Google to download my emails and file them under my Gmail account. After Gmail downloads the messages, it shows up like this:

I really need it to show up properly once Gmail downloads the messages, as it takes a long time to login to Squirrel mail and download each message as an attachment. My PHP Code Headers Look like this:

Someone suggested that I remove the from my script. I did, and now the email shows a from sender as www-data www-data@domain.com. Before, the from field showed up as empty. However, my PHP script is designed to change the sender's information to the clients that contact me. Thus, if customer A contacts me, the email should be from customer A <custa@whatever.com>. However, it's not being changed by the PHP script. It works on every other server but mine. I think my postfix configuration isn't setup properly? What needs to be configured on it?
I'm setting up my fedora 10 server. I am currently working on samba. I have added users and created their home directories with their own html directories. I have changed their html directories to 777. However, it appears to be read-only since I cannot create files or folders within it. Can anyone please give me some ideas as to what may be causing this? Probably some extra configurations I may have overlooked? Any help would be kindly appreciated. I also created a general wshare (writable share) directory for all users within home directory but I am encountering the same problem and cannot write to it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedToday, the power was suddenly cut off in my house, then my home Ubuntu Server restarted after the power on, but when I use my laptop to view my wesite, the index.html suddenly became blank page, I did clear the firefox cache, doesn't work, still blank, and I changed browser, to seamonkey, the index.html still was blank, so, I am sure that the problem is coused by the server, and then, I put the index.html file to a subdirectory, which under the /var/www/home/index.html, and then I put the address < [url] > ,then,I can view my website the main page index.html.

After using wget -r, all the chapters are now in the same folder on my local hard drive. Is there a way to build the chapters in their proper order into a "long"/"full" web page, rather than simply having each chapter as a link/next link on a previous page?

I get the command manual(pfd).I can test the command by run minicom however. I want to print the Web page (.html) provide by our web servers.Those pages have a js-button(javascript) each with the function that the firefox/or (custom) app demo is called to print the line/table/div/etc (not the whole page,like the receipt) after the js-button is pressed. There is a window showing the print-progress info will be better when it is printting. The setup works like a beast, much better than the old sco based system we were using. Anyway I work for a law firm, and we have use a bespoke case management system to complete work on cases. We have started a paperless office initiative. This means we are asking more and more clients and firms to correspond via email. This is where my troubles are kicking in. The governing body of solicitors in the UK is very picky, and we have to have certain formats and information in documents when sent out to clients, this is the same for emails.
I have a script that will cat the html header information, then cat the body of the email and finally cat the footer html information. The output of which is perfect and usable to the firm. My problem comes sending this file. The end of the script I have the following:

Any email sent using outlook from any machine on the network can send and receive html email. How can I make this happen from the command line?

My setup is two laptops connected by crossover cable. One runs Windows xp the other Fedora 13. Neither is connected to internet. I'm using a subnet of 192.168.1.x On Fedora eth0 is up, apache runs because it creates pidfile. Everything pings fine. Windows xp ip pings fine from command line. Gave Windows xp a static ip of 192.168.1.1 mask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 1.2, same as eth0. xp says it sees the server. eth0 is up.
DirectoryIndex looks at index.html. I created that file with very simple code and put it in document root. Document root permissions are 755. Access_log 770. Error_log 644. Apache User 755. Listen 80 When I type the ip for eth0 (192.168.1.2) into firefox, firefox gives me an error message - can't find server. The connection status says its connected.
The error log includes a line: [warn]./mod_dnssd.c:No services found to register I don't know what this means. Apache is not writing to access_log. When I cat the path to access_log I get nothing, then a command prompt. I'm looking for the part I'm missing that will let Apache serve that index.html file to firefox so I can see how my code looks to firefox as I go.
I have apache working,i have users set under admin group in /home/admin/username/html that is with an html publicfolder at the end, now permissions are set right, /html is set to mode 777, and the contents also inside them. But everytime i do a 10.0.11.25/~les i get a damn forbidden error code, its got me so pissed off and i dont' know whats the problem. This is the error i get: Forbidden 403 You don't have permission to access /~les on this server.

With F11 installed Apache is having permissions issues reading files out of the html directory. Only wants to work with permissions set to read for other. [Thu Jun 11 23:25:28 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] (13)Permission denied: file permissions deny server access: /var/www/html/index.html Tracked down the permissions issue. Is there a good reason not to change the group to apache and remove world read?
