It's nice enough but dragging and dropping is all I can do to get music on it. I was wondering if there is a way to manually create a playlist and pop it in with the music files?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. It is working well, but Movie Player does not work, and Dragon Player plays videos/movies but with no audio. VLC works fine. how to either remove Movie Player and Dragon Player or make them work. I tried apt-get remove mplayer but that doesn't work. If not that, I wonder if the default media player can be changed to VLC, e.g., when you click any video it will start to play using VLC?

I am trying to connect a Sansa Clip Zip with rockbox firmware. Debian does not recognise/automount the drives (4gb of internal mem and 32gb sdhc card) whereas Mint 17 had no problem with them.
Are there additional libraries needed? I believe the filesystem is FAT32 rather than anything more exotic so not sure why it doesn't recognise the drives. The clip zip charges but doesn't mount.
Flash isn't working anywhere, and haven't done so properly since I first installed Ubuntu 10.04 a month ago. I have been able to make it work for a short period of time, by doing the following:
1. clearing the cache and the cookies.
2. installing the correct plug-ins for my system.
sometimes when I do this, Flash will work for a few minutes. what can I do to resolve the problem completely? the Flash plug-in I have is the Adobe Flash plug-in, version 10.1.82.76ubuntu0.10.04.2.
my problem is that i have installed vlc player and all its packages from synaptic manager and when i right click on any song or movie it shows option of "open with vlc" .......but when i click on it nothing happens even vlc does not open at all ...........

I get the error that Shockwave flash player has crashed. This also occurs when I try to maximize videos on hulu. I think it has to do with sr0 or DVD mount it is being mounted as /media almost forgot fedora 14 fresh install added vlc, k9 xbmc mplayer everything plays fine from the HDD.
I think this is because I installed a new DVD drive

View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried to install a lexmark z1300 printer, but ubuntu did not recognize it and it crashed. I got a blank screen with a cursor in the middle of the screen that was not flashing. I tried "ctrl + alt +backspase" and it did not work so i had to turnoff the computer by hand. After i turned it back on, i could no longer use vlc player. When i tried to open an .avi file i got the message shown below and i could only hear the audio. I tried to reboot with the option to repair broken packages and that only messed up my window borders (i.e. i had no option to min max or close the windows). The window border problem was solved by just rebooting the computer but vlc media player still does not work.
MESSAGE FROM VLC PLAYER: No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format. Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.
I have been trying to set VLC as the default player, i have been reading in the forum but nothing works for me.
When i hit right click on a file and open with and set VLC as default it opens the vlc just that one time, not always.
I installed the ubuntu 9.10 on my dell studio1458 laptop, but not working audio after installing vlc media player.

But after the kernel headers updated to 2.6.31-22 the vmware player shows the pop up and says it cannot find the kernel headers. But actually, the linux-headers-2.6.31-22-generic are installed. After that I installed Oracle Database 12c. It was a bigger effort to get the whole system going than initially supposed. As far as I can see it is working now. Finally to use Oracle Enterprise Manager in the Iceweasel Browser I also need to install the flash player. After modifying the sources.list I did that with the following command

I am currently using Fedora 11 KDE as my primary operating system at work, but i am having a little bit of troubles getting an audio player to work properly. I am trying to play music off of a separate primary FAT32 file system (which is my shared drive amongst all my operating systems), but when i attempt to load the files via JuK, i receive this error: cannot find demultiplexer plugin for MRL.
I have been playing around with other players as well, and it seems like the only other player which will actually load up the media on this separate partition is Banshee, but doesn't seem to want to play it.
