General :: Movie Player And Dragon Player Not Working In Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx
Sep 20, 2010I recently installed Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. It is working well, but Movie Player does not work, and Dragon Player plays videos/movies but with no audio. VLC works fine. how to either remove Movie Player and Dragon Player or make them work. I tried apt-get remove mplayer but that doesn't work. If not that, I wonder if the default media player can be changed to VLC, e.g., when you click any video it will start to play using VLC?

Sep 10, 2010Flash isn't working anywhere, and haven't done so properly since I first installed Ubuntu 10.04 a month ago. I have been able to make it work for a short period of time, by doing the following:
1. clearing the cache and the cookies.
2. installing the correct plug-ins for my system.
sometimes when I do this, Flash will work for a few minutes. what can I do to resolve the problem completely? the Flash plug-in I have is the Adobe Flash plug-in, version 10.1.82.76ubuntu0.10.04.2.

Jan 17, 2011Ok so I'm sure its something I did because my other PC works fine but when I put in a DVD VLC will not play it. Mplayer same xbmc same. I think it has to do with sr0 or DVD mount it is being mounted as /media almost forgot fedora 14 fresh install added vlc, k9 xbmc mplayer everything plays fine from the HDD.

Mar 14, 2010I tried to install a lexmark z1300 printer, but ubuntu did not recognize it and it crashed. I got a blank screen with a cursor in the middle of the screen that was not flashing. I tried "ctrl + alt +backspase" and it did not work so i had to turnoff the computer by hand. After i turned it back on, i could no longer use vlc player. When i tried to open an .avi file i got the message shown below and i could only hear the audio. I tried to reboot with the option to repair broken packages and that only messed up my window borders (i.e. i had no option to min max or close the windows). The window border problem was solved by just rebooting the computer but vlc media player still does not work.
MESSAGE FROM VLC PLAYER: No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format. Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.
