Ubuntu Multimedia :: Cannot Change Id3 Tag?

May 6, 2010

Whenever I try to use easytag to change the ID3 tag on an mp3 file, it doesn't work for some reason. The artist name contains a $ in Rhythmbox, which is incorrect, but if I open it in easytag and change it to a name without a $, it still shows up in Rhythmbox. I don't have Rhythmbox open while I'm doing this, and another program will change the it under Windows, where it shows up correctly.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Change The Driver From X11 To Xv?

Feb 19, 2010

I have just installed mplayer and everything seems to work fine until i try to go fullscreen. When i do, the actuall size of the video stays the same and the rest of the screen is filled with a black border. I have seen the main problem by many people, and the solution they all found was to change the driver from x11 to xv.

In my case however, the only driver working is x11. Anything else gives the following error Quote: Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device This is also quite wired since the output of mplayer -vo help says that all the drivers are available.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: 9.10 Change Audio Driver To HD-ATI-SB (used In 9.04)?

Jan 11, 2010

This is my 2nd try with 9.10 and audio has this screeching thingie that its driving me crazy. I've been using both 8.10 and 9.04 with perfect sound and everytime I come into 9.10 I have this horrorific sound that no matter what I do I can't fix it. In a thread somebody suggested to change the audio channels from 5.1 to 7.1 (which made sense since my hardware really is 7.1). but there's no 7.1 option available.

When I do lspci -v... I can see that:

Code:

Ubuntu Multimedia :: How To Change The Rhythmbox Settings

Oct 27, 2010

i installed Ubuntu 10.10 yesterday, and cannot find the answer to my question. I have a whole music library of mp3's on a secondary drive that I want to use in Rhythmbox. However, in Rhythmbox's Music Player Preferences I can't get either the Library Location to change from "Multiple locations set" or the Preferred format to "CD, Lossy mp3".

When I go into Edit>Preferences>Music, where it says "Multiple locations set", it is greyed over (I think that's the term. You can't access it.) When I go into the Preferred format, mps isn't there, but it does show up in another window when I click on edit; however, the only options I have there are 'Close' and 'Help'. The help button brings up another window and syas its loading, but stays in a loading mode forever.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Can't Change Album Art In Rhythmbox / Enable This?

Jan 21, 2010

I'm trying to reorganize my files and organize my music on Rhythmbox, but I've run into a really annoying problem. The cover art for one song on a particular album isn't right. All the other songs in the album are displaying properly.

I have the album cover in the same folder that the music is in with the name "Cover.jpg".

I've tried about everything I can think of. I've tried renaming the image file, tried dragging it to the album art area in the player, and I've tried moving it to the Rhythmbox folder under the name "~/.gnome2/rhythmbox/covers/Artist Name - Album Name.jpg" (Of course inserting the correct album name and artist name exactly the way it is shown in Rhythmbox). It will change if I drag and drop it, but once I go back and play the song again, it will revert to the wrong cover art.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Can't Change Default Refresh Rate

May 21, 2010

After upgrading from karmic to lucid I can't change a default refresh rate for my crt monitor connected to my laptop (lcd switched off). I know radeon driver is trying to check what's the highest possible rate and sets it around 85, but the screen starts to "shiver". If I manualy change this setting in system settings for the screen to 75, it is ok. But I have to do this after every boot I generated xorg.conf and the appropriate modeline (it shows in the screen settings), and I added it to both monitor and screen section. Nevertheless the refresh rate is set to auto again in system settings and the screen wiggles a bit. How to disable automatic detection and force my own settings?

P.S Here's my xorg.conf:

Code:
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "X.org Configured"
Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer"
