View 2 RepliesI've been having issues with Devede on my desktop although I used to use it on my laptop back in the day. I click videocd and under advanced options select ISO but can only get the output of a new .mpg. I've also tried to create disc structure but had the same result. I've uninstalled and reinstalled via the software center and still nothing has changed. Currently I'm having to use wine to run ConvertXtoDVD and then burn with K9Copy.
Running Ubuntu 11.04.
Used DeVeDe to take a Avi that was 700mb which is now a 2gb iso file which will open fine with VLC player with the custom menu I made and the movie plays fine but K3b will not burn the to the media and I tried several blank disk of the same media now and no luck. I don't have any other media to try but this same media worked fine with K3b before and recent so I don't know but I never tried it using it like this before meaning with DeVeDe.

Getting a little tired of applications working one day but not the next....this morning it's devede. Firstly it somehow VANISHED from the system...all on it's own. Then when I reinstalled it, it spits this guff out...........
yesterday it was mplayer...I watched a view videos...and then it just started segfaulting on every video including the ones it just played. As such as well as any advice re: devede I would like to hear how to turn all ubuntu's sneaky background crap off so it acts like linux and not windows.
I recorded audio and video (singing and playing guitar) with Cheese and Ubuntu Karmic 9.1. The video (and audio) came out pretty well (except for the typical cheese delay), but I want to upload to ...... How can I convert the ogv to something for .....? Devede doesn't do it for me, and I've tried every method out there. What do I need to do - Convert it to ogg, and then use ffmpeg? How ridiculous that I can't upload an ogv file to ......

View 1 Replies View RelatedI created a Video DVD using DeVeDe 3.16.8. I selected some .mkv files, created menus and the program created .iso files which I burned using the Burn Image selection in Brasero 2.30.2. The resultant DVD worked perfectly in my PC under Ubuntu as well as Windows XP. However, when I pop the disc in my standalone DVD player connected to my TV, the player gives a "NO DISC" error - no joy.

Suddenly, and without any warning at all, Devede will not create an iso. I have the option checked for that to happen, but when I peek inside the folder, there's just compatible mpgs. I tried selecting "only covert film filesto compliant MPEG files," to see if the buttons were somehow reversed, but to no avail. I've searched this forum and Google for someone with the same problem; no luck. I've also updated to make sure I'm running the most recent stable version.
I'm using 9.10 and GNOME 2.28.1, with Intel T8100 2.10 GHz dual core processor and 3.5 Gb RAM. Dunno how much of that information is necessary...
I keep getting the error message that says "Failed to create the dvd tree, maybe you ran out of disk space. Is this some kind of bug related to the new upgrade, and if it is will it be resolved soon.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using 10.04.I have used Devede for a year or more and it has worked great untill a couple of weeks ago. When I go on the menu and select it the menu goes away and nothing happens. When I run it fron the terminal I get;
devede

I do not know what this means.
I have been having a frustrating issue with Ubuntu 9.04 on both my laptop and desktop machines for several days now. An Icon shows in the panel telling me there was a problem with updating. Attempts to update hangs on waiting for headers @ 99% but ultimately times out. I have not been able to update successfully for some time. Add to this the fact that DeVeDe will not respond. Trying to run DeVeDe from the Applications menu does nothing, running the program from the command line does nothing. Attempts to uninstall return this warning:
Code:
dpkg: error while cleaning up:
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
devede
Attempts to start Synaptic return this:
Code:
E: The package devede needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.
E: Internal error opening cache (1). Please report.
Dvds I make with DeVeDe play in color on my laptop (Ubuntu) but when played in my home theatre dvd player they only play in black and white. I have a feeling this is a codec issue?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am new to Ubuntu 9.10.But after reading some tips I was able to install vlc player, handbrake,a free DVD ripper. Now I downloaded a DVD creating tool by nameDEVEDE (devede_3.16.8-0~rastersoft1_all.deb). But it is asking mencoder which I could not install even after installing many uniuversal and multiverse codecs related to mencoder and mplayer.
Therefore I request you to kindly tell me how to install first mpalayer and mencoder also tell me source installing(normally a deb) packages of mencoder and mplayer. Please give me details for offline installation only. Finally tell me how to install DVD creator DEVEDE i.e devede_3.16.8-0~rastersoft1_all.deb.
I'm about to attempt to upgrade gtk+2 from the current 2.14 to 2.16 to fulfill a requirement for devede, I'm planning on using the slackbuild from slackware/l/gtk+2 and just editing the version. I think this approach will work but I was hoping to get some feedback (and any warnings or advice) before I dive in - obviously I will back up before hand.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRhythmbox not starting Ubuntu 10.10.
It was installed several times{uninstalled then reinstalled}
It just will not start.
If I run Amarok right after ubuntu starts, and then start a movie, there is no sound. It doesn't matter that the playback in Amarok is paused, stopped or active, there is no sound in the other player. Even if i exit Amarok, i don't get any sound. It is important to note that the other player is definitely a gnome application. I tried playing a song in Rhythmbox after Amarok was started, or play a video in Movie Player: no sound. I get sound from KDE video players, but the video doesn't work there, so that isn't an option. The only explanation i can think of, is that Amarok somehow "occupies" the sound drive, and it remains "occupied" even after the application was closed. Because if i start Movie Player before Amarok, this problem never appears.

I have a PowerPC installation (fully patched) of Ubuntu 10, and I pulled down the MythTV suite on top (since there is no Mythbuntu/PPC that I found). I'm having an issue where after I scan for channels with my tuner using mythtv-setup, I can't set the starting channel number. Its almost as if nothing ever populates into the drop down. This seems to be specific to the combination that I have - Ubuntu 10 + PPC + Myth 0.23. If I use another x86 + Myth .21 and the same Tuner (HDHomeRun), I can set the starting channel fine. A Mac OS 10.4 + Myth .21 also allowed me to set the channel. I've rebuilt this install twice now and it won't allow me to set it. I can see the scanned data in the mythconverg database, so I know its there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSometime last week, my volume control disappeared. Upon investigating, I realized that the PulseAudio daemon was not running. When I tried to start it (both by command line and by graphical interface), it errored and refused to start. It is my impression that some other program is using the sound card, but I have been unable to find anything. I've removed all of my local media program configuration files, but nothing seemed to change.
1) finding the program that is locking the sound card?
On Maverick, I noticed a couple of days ago when I started an MP3 of a single tone recording it had a 'crackle' for about a quarter of a second at the start of playback. I initially thought there was a problem with the recording but I have noticed it is universal and I now pick up it is happening on some songs too (particularly if they start on a single note, not all songs seem affected).
This is a problem if I double-click a sound file which I open in Totem, it's also a problem if I start playing an affected track on Rhythmbox, it also happens if I just hover the mouse to start playback, but interestingly any problematic file if I load into Audacity there is no problem at all and the file plays correctly.
I doubt anyone else will have noticed this bug as it is so small and I wouldn't have picked up on it had I not been playing a single tone recording, but now I have picked up on it I can detect it all the time which is annoying. Has anyone else noticed at all?
I am having problems starting jack everytime I try to start it either says bad file descriptor a bunch times or it wont connect to server as client sometime. Other times It just say sorry cannot start jack.

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04. I didn't really find the Unity interface useable (I didn't like Ubuntu Netbook Edition for this exact reason) and am running it in Classic mode. I have a Acer Aspire One D255, Intel Atom processor, etc. When I start the computer up from a hibernate, the screen goes black with a set of random colored pixels at the top corner. I have a mouse but nothing else.

I do quite allot of screen tutorials, and i am always useing this FMMPEG script.ffmpeg -f alsa -ac 2 -i pulse -f x11grab -r 30 -s $(xwininfo -root | grep 'geometry' | awk '{print $2;}') -i :0.0 -acodec pcm_s16le -vcodec libx264 -vpre lossless_ultrafast -threads 0 -y video2.avi.I was just wondering if someone knows a script that i could put in a text file, make it executable and it would ask me what i wanted to save the file as, and it would put that text where "Video2.avi" goes, and then it would just run the normal FFMPEG script.
