Ubuntu Multimedia :: DeVeDe - K3b Will Not Burn To Media
Feb 19, 2010
Used DeVeDe to take a Avi that was 700mb which is now a 2gb iso file which will open fine with VLC player with the custom menu I made and the movie plays fine but K3b will not burn the to the media and I tried several blank disk of the same media now and no luck. I don't have any other media to try but this same media worked fine with K3b before and recent so I don't know but I never tried it using it like this before meaning with DeVeDe.

I've been having issues with Devede on my desktop although I used to use it on my laptop back in the day. I click videocd and under advanced options select ISO but can only get the output of a new .mpg. I've also tried to create disc structure but had the same result. I've uninstalled and reinstalled via the software center and still nothing has changed. Currently I'm having to use wine to run ConvertXtoDVD and then burn with K9Copy.
Running Ubuntu 11.04.

Getting a little tired of applications working one day but not the next....this morning it's devede. Firstly it somehow VANISHED from the system...all on it's own. Then when I reinstalled it, it spits this guff out...........
yesterday it was mplayer...I watched a view videos...and then it just started segfaulting on every video including the ones it just played. As such as well as any advice re: devede I would like to hear how to turn all ubuntu's sneaky background crap off so it acts like linux and not windows.

I recorded audio and video (singing and playing guitar) with Cheese and Ubuntu Karmic 9.1. The video (and audio) came out pretty well (except for the typical cheese delay), but I want to upload to ...... How can I convert the ogv to something for .....? Devede doesn't do it for me, and I've tried every method out there. What do I need to do - Convert it to ogg, and then use ffmpeg? How ridiculous that I can't upload an ogv file to ......

I created a Video DVD using DeVeDe 3.16.8. I selected some .mkv files, created menus and the program created .iso files which I burned using the Burn Image selection in Brasero 2.30.2. The resultant DVD worked perfectly in my PC under Ubuntu as well as Windows XP. However, when I pop the disc in my standalone DVD player connected to my TV, the player gives a "NO DISC" error - no joy.

Am slowly parting company with MS Windows. I have been using this app to convert, burn, and then be able to play on most all DVD players, ConvertXtoDVD. Is there something I can use in Ubuntu that is fairly easy? Also would like something in Ubuntu to convert and burn to Dual Layer media and then play on standard DVD players.

my brother was trying to burn some dvds, and he asked me about capacity. I told him that they only held 4.7 GB, but he found some that advertised 8 GB and 8.5 GB. Then, I saw the wikipedia article. According to that, there are even 17 GB disks? I knew about Dual Layer but not all this. Is the capacity dependent on the burn settings or the DVD media itself? I have a newer SATA DVD burner, so it should support everything.

I'M trying to copy or rip a cd to a .iso file using Nero linux 4 and it just stops at 88%.I have also used brasero and the same thing happens when i right click in nautilus it only rips so far then stop's.Looking on Nero's websites the only dependencies that i don't have is Glibc 2.3.6.I have libglibc 2.24.1. and i can't find 2.3.6 to download.Does anyone know why i can't rip or copy the cd anyway i try to.Maybe it's a dependencies problem but i don't the what dependencies need to be installed.

Ubuntu 9.10 here.
I'm trying to preserve my DVD collection, so I want to use DVD backups instead of the originals. I did the following:
Code:
$ dd if=/dev/sr0 of=FightClub.iso bs=2048 conv=notrunc
$ ls -l FightClub.iso
-rw-r--r-- 1 rdl rdl 8039299072 2010-02-10 09:55 FightClub.iso
[Code]....
I tried brasero and k3b, but, after burning, I cannot read the disks on my PC or DVD player...

running lucid and whatever updates are current.Im attempting to burn a avi to dvd format with brasero, but when i hit "burn" brasero sais "ejecting disc" and says that an internal error has occurred. the saved log is blank.any thoughts? i have dvd author and the error message doesnt appear until the disc has ejected. but really it should not be ejecting if it is going to perform a burn.

I have MP3 files and CUE files. I've tried unsuccessfully to burn a traditional audio CD from them using Brasero (burn image file, point to CUE, it acts like it will, then gives errors). I've searched all over Google and the Ubuntu Forums.

I often use dvdbackup to mirror dvd's to my harddrive. I used to use k3b to burn them to disks. The problem is I no longer use kde, and I realy hate installing kde apps these days, since they seem totaly bloated. Brassero isn't smart enough to take a directory with a dvd's file structure mirrored into it, and burn this as a video dvd. Is there a way to convert such a directory into an iso from the command line so brassero can handle it?

I've just bought a DVD player that supports Xvid format, so I can play my .avi files on it, but I cant get it to burn to a DVD. Would I just burn it as a data dvd? I don't want to turn it into .vob files after buying the dvd so it can specifically play the .avi files, really.

Suddenly, and without any warning at all, Devede will not create an iso. I have the option checked for that to happen, but when I peek inside the folder, there's just compatible mpgs. I tried selecting "only covert film filesto compliant MPEG files," to see if the buttons were somehow reversed, but to no avail. I've searched this forum and Google for someone with the same problem; no luck. I've also updated to make sure I'm running the most recent stable version.
I'm using 9.10 and GNOME 2.28.1, with Intel T8100 2.10 GHz dual core processor and 3.5 Gb RAM. Dunno how much of that information is necessary...
