I Have a satellite card Twinhan Azurewave AD-SP200 (1027) DVB -S and i do not know how to configure it .I found a patch for my card but i do not know how to use it .Patch I work with Ubuntu 11.04 ( X64 )Kernel 2.6.39-0-generic
after the installation, the card was detected and /dev/video0 was created but dmesg indicated that the card is not among the ones listed as supported and since card did not have EEPROM, the card was not up and running right away.i have edited /etc/modprobe.d/tvcard.conf and added options saa7134 card=3 tuner=14
Code:
$sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/tvcard.conf
added:
Code:
options saa7134 card=3 tuner=14
Then CTRL+X to exit
still it did not work. tvtime would always say no signal and tvtime-scanner never picked up any channels. then i followed instruction given by rsramkee [URL]. edited saa7134-cards.c and deployed new kernel linux-2.6.36.2 with changes.i rebooted machine to windows selected one channel in tv tuner software of windows, again rebooted machine to ubuntu (i have dual boot windows XP and ubuntu 2.6.35.23). tvtime able display video of channel that is selected in windows OS (No sound), but not be able to tune any other stations. In mplayer able display video of channel that is selected in windows OS with sound.
i followed instruction given by http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Saa7134-alsa to set up sound. loading the loopback module with the command:
$ pactl load-module module-loopback
Now tvtime able display video of channel that is selected in windows OS with sound, but not be able to tune any other stations. Not be able to tune any stations.dmesg output:
i'm not be able to tune any stations using tvtime and xawtv. if channel is not selected in windows OS for more then 1 hour then tvtime displays message no signal, same message in tvtime-scaner (No sound).
How to configure sound card in opensuse 11.1. I tried some of the solutions like alsaconf but its not working .... Also please tell me how to find model of sound card that I have in my laptop. Laptop that I am using is DELL inspiron15r, core i5.
I've just downloaded gtk-recordmydesktop and when I press record a split second later this message comes up: Recording is finished recordmydesktop has exited with status: 768 Description: Could not open/configure sound card. if I need to download anything extra from the repos or something I have to do in system settings.
I've been trying to configure this generic remote that came with a TV tuner card (saa7134) a while ago but I haven't been able to do so. The thing is that the remote works, in fact some buttons are recognized properly... but some are not. I'm not using lirc!, from I have been reading there is support for generic remotes in the 2.6.31 kernel, besides, i can't configure lirc, it doesn't let me load the kernel modules to start up the daemon for the ir. is there a config file for the button mapping of the native remote support in kernel 2.6.31?. Been searching it but couldn't find it.
I have moc running well in Debian 6. However, I cannot get moc to playback music via my USB DAC card, it only plays back through my soundcard. I use ALSA for playback. Is there any way that I can configure moc to play music through my DAC card as I do through Audacious?
Somebody know some software for watching satellite tv on pc (linux)? For windows and mac is all bunch of software (e.g. one small list is on [URL]), but for linux I found just two (not available for South America and "just" with few hundreds channels).
I have a Toshiba Satellite P100-ST9212.reviously it had Windows XP installed and everything worked. Yesterday I installed Ubuntu 10.04 and the installation went smoothly (video, wireless, usb, etc) and I did all the suggested updates. However there is no audio being emitted. All visual and BIOS indications are that the audio should be enabled and working. I have version 4.20 of the BIOSI looked at this forum before submitting this and found general steps to test for.The following steps all succeeded
aplay -l lspci -v sudo modprobe snd-hda-intel
The next steps discuss getting fresh ALSA drivers from kernel but this implies that it once worked on a previous Ubuntu install which is not true in my case. So rather than chasing down this potential wild goose I thought I would post this specificestion and see if anyone has seen and better yet knows how to fix this.
My Toshiba Satellite L305D is running Ubuntu 10.10. The internal microphone doesn't work - if I try to record something, I just hear some clicks. According to the terminal, my audio device is: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)
When I click open alsamixer, the boxes for Front Mic, Mic Boost and Beep are empty. When I go to Preferences => Sound => Hardware I get a choice of Analogue Stereo input, output and duplex - as well as off. I go for duplex. When I go to sound => input, the microphone mute box in unchecked and the single volume bar is at a maximum. There are no choices - the one choice, Internal Audio Analog Stereo, is checked. As it's only once choice, it can't be unchecked.
I recently installed Ubuntu Natty on my Toshiba Satellite A210-139. Everything works fine except the microphone. I can hear a crackling sound also when I record using Sound Recorder, but it's not too bad. The big issue is with skype, where, besides an annoying, loud white noise, the receiver hears me quite intermittently. I tried many things. Firstly, I played around with Alsamixer and Pulseaudio with every possible combination. Didn't work. I also tried what seemed to solve the problem to many users: replacing
Code: load-module module-udev-detect with Code: load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0 in /etc/pulse/default.pa
After updating the repositories, a long update took place... and after completed, my sound card was disabled. I had to reboot the system to have it working again, yet... mp3, mp4, avi files cannot be reproduced at all.
I just want to get rid of Win 7... and I find OpenSuse very stable, solid and friendly. I just installed version 11.2 in this old Toshiba Satellite, as a pilot installation prior the final one in a desktop PC.
I've been trying to get this sorted for days. I'm trying to use this older Toshiba Satellite 1800 as a kind of Internet Radio kiosk. Sound was working in Xubuntu but everything was too slow so I switched to fresh minimal install from the mini cd and used the guide from psychocats to install IceWM. No I have _no_ sound. (It works perfectly off of Knoppix 6.0.1 live cd.)
I have a capture tv card in my pc, but i can't configure it. It's a TV Tuner PRO ENLTV-FM Encore Electronics. I have all the System Requeriments and I've downloaded a program called MeTv to use it, but it's not working. The message that i have of this program is:
Code: There are no DVB Tuner Devices I've read on the net that I have to alter something in the kernel called bttv with the
Actually I had solved this problem back to 8.10, but now on maverick, none of the tricks have worked. Either I have a low sound and the speakers keeps going on with the headphone plugged in, or there is no sound at all. On this thread:Quote:http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=995940I had it solved, but now, none of this configurations seems to work, and something has changed as you can see, this was my old aplay -l list:Quote:
aplay -l **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC888 Analog [ALC888 Analog]
My video card developed problems, so I followed the suggestion in this thread:
Quote: Boot into recovery mode, then choose root, for a command prompt and enter Code: dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
but my ubuntu 10.04 32-bit system still won't boot. Shortly after the ubuntu logo comes up, before the login, my screen goes black and there is no more video signal. What else can I do to reset the video configuration? The card only has this info on it: I could put the card back in the system, reboot, and then pre-configure the system to drop to the intel 865G on-board video, but the msi card has intermittent problems and will spontaneously re-boot several times during the first ten minutes of turning on the system.
lenovo r500, intel wireless card : iwl5100.i installed backtrack pre 4 on virtualbox ose.i have ubuntu 9.10 but i cant see my wireless card...where is wlan0? how can i configure my wireless card on bt4 on virtualbox?
I'm trying to configure my network card using the b43 driver. I'm running 10.04.2 on the kernel version 2.6.35-25-generic-pae.
Surprisingly, I was able to connect to my home wireless network using the b43 driver without a problem. The only issue is that it doesn't automatically connect. I have to use the following command in order to get it to work:
Code:
After typing my password, I wait for 10 seconds and am automatically connected. My question is, how do I configure my system to do this for me permanently (or at least automatically) so I don't have to type it every time I log on?
I have installed linux on my system. I have connected two ethernet cards in the CPU. I have then connected one cord to one card from the modem. Its working fine. I have connected another cord from the second port to the switch and there by from switch to other systems. However the system is not detecting the second card. I am a newbie to linux and I don't know how to configure it.
The audio chipset on my motherboard was is very new and apparently not yet supported in Linux. I disabled the on-board audio card in the BIOS and installed an old Sound Blaster 32 PCI card figuring I can surely get it to work. How do I get the OS to detect &/or configure this new card. I did some searching and found several articles saying to run redhat-config-soundcard &I don't seem to have that command on my systemHow do I configure this new audio card?
i already have an eth0 configured to automatically get its info from dhcp.
but i wanna configure eth1 to be able to serve dhcp and dns. i havent configured either dns or dhcp server on the server box since i have not configured the serving interface.
so far my interfaces file is:
Code: # The loopback network interface auto lo iface lo inet loopback # The primary network interface auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp
I have a Belkin Wireless G F5D7230-4. I was attempting to configure a wireless card on another computer on my network when it froze during the reboot phase after making settings adjustments. The wired connection is fine, except on that computer that I was making the adjustments from. It won't connect at all. I plugged a friends netbook into the same wired line and it connected. Also there is no wireless signal on any laptops. Mac, Win Linux, don't matter. I tried all the various methods of resetting to default but still when I try to access the router's config page @ http://192.168.2.1 I get the error Code: The server at 192.168.2.1 is taking too long to respond.
We have several new DELL STUDIO-XPS machines pre-packaged with Win7 onto which we intend to load 10.3 the 2.6.22.5-31-default kernel as a dual boot.
The first test machine however is showing reluctance to reveal its NIC under SuSE. The card in question is a Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet with driver version 12.4.0.3 under Windows.
The error message I recieve under SuSE is "Unable to configure network card because kernel device is not present".
ifconfig confirms this showing only the loopback device.
The tg3.ko driver seems to be OK (although I am not sure how to interogate this file for its vesion?). It is listed under /sbin/lsmod and I have attempted a rmmod followed by an insmod but thsi seems to have no effect.
Talk on the net suggests Windows will not 'let go' of the card on a dual boot machine but this seems unlikely and I have attempted the various power down options without success.
I have installed a 9200 Radeon (the card says 9250 on it, but computer reads as 9200) on a AMD Sempron 2500+ 64 bit,Ubuntu 10.04 Gnome 2.30.2, Kernel Linux 2.6.32-26; Samsung VGA 941BW monitor.
A friend told me if I added more RAM (512mb), the card would run properly & the graphics would be stellar.
He also told me the drivers were installed.
When I did this & started the computer, before I got to my login, a box appeared, telling me my graphics were running in "Low Mode", & do I want to configure them. When I said "Yes", it told me to restart. When I did, nothing happened & the video card is still running on "low". I checked the fglrx info, and was told "command not found".
I am using Redhat enterprize linux and using ethernet card Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller. I tried to configure my network card. But unable to activate it as message appears "No such device found" I am using Dell inspiron laptop.
Tell me how to configure my Ethernet card to work. My pc only works wirelessly. I don't know what kind of Ethernet card is installed. I have Ubuntu 10.4 on a dell pc 1ghz, 20ghd, 512mb.
I have an old PCMCIA card and I would like to use in a newly installed centos5.6. I want to use, but I do not know how. ifconfig-a does not return the card details. I can see the pci devices both the controller and the PCMCIA card as well. I read, I have to load the kernel module yenta to use the pcimcia card, but I couldn't. The /sbin/modprobe -l | grep "yenta" does not return anything, and do not have either of these modules in library (find /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/ | grep yenta) How I can move forward welcome, or where should I start to search or indeed whether the card can support? How to config PCMCIA Card at CentOS5 now?
