I have problems with Mobloquer and Thunderbird or Evolution email. (Email is Gmail.)When i log in Ubuntu and open mail, mobloquer block "Google Inc". View 1 RepliesSo, I am relatively new to Ubuntu (a few weeks in). I am running Lucid dual booted with Windows Vista at this point. I have installed the Mobloquer GUI for better privacy. That seems to be going pretty well, except that it is making it difficult for me to connect to the yahoo chat server. I am running Pidgin. The other servers I use (AIM, Google) use one IP address each for their chat connections and I have whitelisted those addresses. However, it seems that Yahoo uses a different IP address every time. Whitelisting whatever IP it tried last doesn't work. I tried to put in a range - with that, Mobloquer would not start up at all - something about an invalid IP mask.
I realize that this is the Ubuntu forum, not specific to Moblock (or Mobloquer) but when I google problems with Mobloquer the results are almost all here. So, I hope that those with knowledge will chime in anyhow.
So, now that I got http://bit.ly/h70Nnf sorted out, how come doesn't my Mobloquer show anything in the log. I'm used to Peer Guardian 2 in Windows and I know it has to show some more stuff than nothing.. Your help is sincerely appreciated cuz I'm so new to Ubuntu. FYI: Mobloquer and Peer Guardian 2 are IP blocking programs.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMobloquer starts up at boot and before I've even opened firefox or transmission or anything, mobloquer shows that is has started blocking several outgoing connections as well as ton of incoming connections. I was wondering if the outgoing connections is normal and what's a normal amount of network activity to show up in system monitor when I'm not actively using the internet.

i am also running mobloqer on the first laptop.
but when i try to access internet in my other laptop, i cant do it unless i disable mobloquer in the first laptop,
but with mobloquer switched on(in the first laptop), i can use utorrent on the second laptop but cant browse any websites (using firefox or chrome !)
first laptop is running ubuntu 10.10 second laptop is running win xp sp2
i want to allow internet access in the second laptop while mobloquer is running on the first laptop, is it possible to do so ?
I use 'quoted' style for reply emails. I want to be able to intersperse my replies within a quoted reply i.e. if the email had three paragraphs, I'd like to be able to have my replies between each of the paragraphs. At the moment, I don't seem to be able to do anything other than delete from the quoted section - I try to simulate my requirements by cutting and then 'paste quotation', but this doesn't always work as sometimes Evolution adds too many levels of '> ' .

We had several websites on that server, and many email addresses. Then we changed servers. Now we have a server through Rackspace and it is also running Ubuntu. It also has Virtualmin installed, which generally does not impose as many unconventional changes on Ubuntu as Plesk did.
Rather than using Thunderbird to download my email (which is what I used to do) I've decided I'll start reading my email on the server. So I will ssh to the server and then use some email client, such as Alpine, to read the email. So I installed Alpine. I have an email account for "lawrence". The email address is lawrence @ krubner. Currently, when mail arrives for that account, it is stored here:
/home/krubner/homes/lawrence/Maildir/new
and then it is transferred to hear:
/home/krubner/homes/lawrence/Maildir/cur
When I start Alpine, while logged in as lawrence, Alpine automatically sets up an inbox for me here:
/home/lawrence/mail/
How do I get Alpine (or any other client) to read from the correct folder? I'm fairly sure the email package (the MTA) at work on this new server is Postfix. As near as I can tell, my email is held for 24 hours in this folder:
/home/krubner/homes/lawrence/Maildir/new
and then it gets transferred here:
/home/krubner/homes/lawrence/Maildir/cur
Alpine only lets me set one path for my Inbox, so I'm not sure what path I should set. If I use "cur" I will see all email 1 day late, but if I use "new" then I will miss email if I go a day without checking.
Is there a way to configure exim4 to bcc all new incoming emails to another email address? My boss wants a copy of all outgoing emails.
I know postfix can do this with a bcc_always option. Im sure exim4 should be able to also.

The email client has to be text command based because I need to use command line to send notification email from anothar application installed in my Linux (Centos 5.1) Since the email client will only be used to send email notification, I don't require setting up of an email server in my linux.

I have a cron setup to run this command: Code: /var/test.sh | mail -s "Test Cron" mr182@somewhere.com The email is sent but the output of the script is not in the email body, it's just blank. I know there is some output because there are some echo statements in the script.I don't want to get an email for all cronjobs, just this one.

The new email server will replace the primary one.I would like to setup the new email server in parallel with the existing one.This way i can observe issues that might occur and be aware of what could go wrong. When I started the PC like always, it started normal been having issues actually, every time I start up the PC it freezes when I put the password in and its going to the desktop and stuff, then I have to re-start it or it re-starts itself, or just go to where I have to type in the password again, and then it does it again after a while, after 3 or 4 times of that it goes to the desktop normally and works fine, but today it took some time, and after it finally loaded the panel was all odd, everything appeared in block letters, like when Mozilla can't recognize certain language it just shows you blocks, that appears, but I check the system, where images and all that, everything appears normal, it only seems to be the panel.
wondering if its that I need to re-install the panel, or something else, also this odd file appeared too, it says (invalid coding) next to it, when I go to upload an image or something the files there, I wonder if that has something to do, or maybe its just been there who knows (and the freezing part too), anyways, I'm new here so I don't really know if this place was the right place to post this up OTL theres a screenshot in an attachemnt thing (if I put it up, it would appear to big)
I have wireless connection between my router and PC. It is the only computer connected. Sometimes Firestarter blocks ports 1900 and 6771 from 192.168.1.100 IP address and sometimes port 68 from 192.168.1.1 IP. so I just installed code blocks after clear installing ubuntu 64 everything went fine but when I try to compile and run my .cpp files code::blocks wont do anything I dont get any messages on the build log so I dont understand whats happening I tried looking on the forums and checking other pages such as the one bellow but no luck at all. The Build went OK but I cant Run the program. So I tried the simplest progrma of hello World and still I get the same error even on a clean new project.
The Error: "error while loading shared libraries: cv.so can not open shared object file : No such file or directory"
I'd been using Code::Block IDE for quite a while, but now it won't open. When I try to run it, it says in the panel "Starting Code::Blocks IDE", but no window opens and it disappears from the panel a few seconds later. I've tried reinstalling a few times with no luck.
