Ubuntu :: Language Icon For AWN's Systray?
Feb 25, 2011how to add a language icon to AWN's systray ? Right now it shows only a generic icon, so I can't see which language do I use... (I'm using ubuntu 10.10 x86_64)

Ubuntu :: Systray Not Showing TrueCrypt Icon - Sort This Out?
May 18, 2011As in the title - When I use truecrypt it (normally) puts an icon in the systray. I need to click on this icon when i've finished with the volume in order to unmount the volume and exit the program. This is very important as I share this volume across computers and it can't be mounted on more than one at a time.
However the icon does not play with the new unity DE, not showing up at all, and leaving me with only one option - to open a terminal and find and kill all TC processes. Obviously killing processes in this way is technically not ideal and is time consuming too.
Any ideas how to sort this out anyone?

I minimized pidgin and couldn't find the icon where I can click to restore the window anymore.
Ubuntu :: Support For Language While Keeping English As Language Used To Display Desktop?
Mar 5, 2011I have some music in another language, but when I open the songs in Banshee, their song names just come up as weird characters (like μ).I went to [System --> Administration --> Language Support] and installed support for that language, but the songs still come up like μ. (But in Nautilus, their proper names show).
I know the solution is to change my whole system language to that language, but I don't want to do that, as I am not very fluent in it. Is there any way to enable support for that language while keeping English as the language used to display my desktop?

Nov 1, 2010One computer .... three users .... three languages. How do you make that happen? User A speaks English and is happy with English. No problem. User B needs to use Chinese and would like the full system in Chinese. User C needs to use Thai and Chinese. They would prefer their menus to be in Thai and can use iBus for Chinese entry. How do you set up the system so that each user can select their system language when they login?

One appears to be inactive when switching input method to Japanese. Known bug? Freak of nature? Workaround available?

Nov 28, 2010While installing Ubuntu 10.10 I chose the wrong language for my keyboard. I tried to fix this in keyboard preferences and it seemed to work. The correct one I need is USA (and don't know exactly the difference between USA and USA alternative international). But every time I boot my laptop I get the old language back (Dutch) while USA is above the others in my preferences.

May 18, 2010I reinstalled my F12 yesterday and suddenly found the little icon disappeared. Not sure if I accidently deleted it or something, my NetworkManger service is enabled and up running. the nm-applet is also running, but just no icon in the systray area.

Jan 3, 2011i have recently updated my KDE to 4.5.4.after the update i cant see the klipper systrayicon anymore. i tryed killing clipper and loading it from console. it will showup in systray for less than a second and disappear. i tryed deleting klipper config files but still no luck. what can i do?

May 1, 2011I've installed Office 2007 under wine, and would like to add launchers for Word, Excel, etc to the Unity launcher bar.
So, I've created a launcher on the Desktop that will run Word with wine. I've changed the icon to the Word Icon and everything works great from the desktop. If I drag that launcher to the Unity bar, it adds it, but changes the icon to the springboard default icon that new launchers use. Please see attached picture.
As a side note, I am really starting to like Unity (puts on flamesuit), but it seems very easy to break the install of 11.04. I've had to reinstall 4 times now.
