I use kubuntu 10.10 . used to use krandrtray once in a while but recently i installed the cairo-dock (and got rid of the bar at the bottom) so since the krandrtray works only with the systray and the one with cairo isn't really visible , does anybody know of an alternative to krandrtray ?

Today I was using Gchempaint (part of Gnome Chemistry Tools) and found that the F12 version fails miserably to correctly export H to xyz. So I decided to install the latest version I found (0.11). There are, however, some problems I must sort out during compilation.
Apparently it does not see my 'cairo' installation and so I get the following error message:

I just installed it from stock, and I couldn't find system tray.
I minimized pidgin and couldn't find the icon where I can click to restore the window anymore.
All of a sudden on startup this morning my systray has disappeared. I had installed "screenlets" and that icon has diappeared as well

Two iBus icons are showing up in the KDE systray. One appears to be inactive when switching input method to Japanese. Known bug? Freak of nature? Workaround available?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAs in the title - When I use truecrypt it (normally) puts an icon in the systray. I need to click on this icon when i've finished with the volume in order to unmount the volume and exit the program. This is very important as I share this volume across computers and it can't be mounted on more than one at a time.
However the icon does not play with the new unity DE, not showing up at all, and leaving me with only one option - to open a terminal and find and kill all TC processes. Obviously killing processes in this way is technically not ideal and is time consuming too.
Any ideas how to sort this out anyone?
I reinstalled my F12 yesterday and suddenly found the little icon disappeared. Not sure if I accidently deleted it or something, my NetworkManger service is enabled and up running. the nm-applet is also running, but just no icon in the systray area.

i have recently updated my KDE to 4.5.4.after the update i cant see the klipper systrayicon anymore. i tryed killing clipper and loading it from console. it will showup in systray for less than a second and disappear. i tryed deleting klipper config files but still no luck. what can i do?

I have removed it from synaptic and also removed it by doing this sudo apt-get remove cairo-dock cairo-dock-plug-ins in the terminal
But each time i restart, it loads up every time.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn cairo-dock when I hover over the 'shortcuts' applet it shows me what's in my 'places' menu, but I have to click twice on any object to open it, and then it opens two instances of whatever I opened. As in I click once, could wait up to an hour probably, then click again and finally it opens up but twice.

There is only a box on the left end of where it used to appear at the bottom of my desktop.There is no icons and no ability to do anything with it. It was perfectly fine yesterday, which is what I do not understand.
I installed some gstreamer updates, but that was after it was messed up and the updates didn't change anything.I am using the latest version of nVidia driver 260.19.29At first I tried purging compiz, cairo-dock and all the plugins, extras, etc, CCSM as well as Simple CCSM. Then I reinstalled everything fresh and nothing changed.I even tried removing the kernel 2.6.35-24-generic and reinstalling it and still no bueno!
When I try to even open Simple CCSM via System > Preferences, the cursor indicates activity for a while and then nothing.Right clicking on the desktop and attempting to change visual effects to any thing but None yields some weird stuff and then a message "Desktop effects could not be enabled".
Like I said it was fine yesterday and has been fine since installation until today. It cannot be the video driver or any of the obvious solutions as I have had this driver for quite a while and everything was perfect until now.And please don't say try Docky or AWN. Been there and done that and I prefer Cairo-dock open GL.

I didn't pay to much attention. I want it back and I just want to hide it with a really long delay which I can do no problem.
